Very nice game! I love the physics of the shipping containers on their ropes as you move the crane around. It was a bit tricky at first getting to learn to use the arrow keys and WASD to move the crane around, but eventually I mastered it and was only at the mercy of the shipping containers. Well Done!

I absolutely love physics based games like these, although the controls were decently hard to remember what buttons do what for the crane but after a while of playing around you get used to it, it was also really difficult to get the crates to fit into the small hole in the conveyor belt so I would suggest just making the holes slightly bigger since the crates get stuck super easily on the edges despite them being mostly straight, but other than that I really loved the physics of this game! Good job!

fudgegonewild 2023-10-03 13:23

Hi! I enjoyed your game :) Was a little hard, but i think keep the physics and make the up,down and rotate mouse controlled with alot drag on the object. Otherwise very solid game! I had fun with the physics :)

stealthorc 2023-10-03 16:08

The game is really fun and juggling with all the stuff on this small place makes it so much fun. The only deterring factor for me is the timer system. The timers way too short for me I only could the first Level (non tutorial) fully and the last at about 60% I think. A medal system gold, silver, bronze with infinite timer would be better here. Or at least only the unlimited timer, to have your players let them have the fun with the wonky system is what sparked the joy for me. Focus on that more and you got a banger title, imo!

Keep it up, I hope you revise this a bit and go at it even further!

Love it :)

I like it hope soon will update bgm!!

@ghostskill24 Nice, thanks for playing!

@congeesetador Thanks for playing, I'll see about adding the controls to the pause menu, that might help remembering them. The small hole was half intentional and half not, but I agree that it is a bit too small. I was intending to add some force to the conveyor which would guide the crate a bit better into the hole but didn't get to it. The conveyor also has way too little friction sideways so the crates just slide to the side and get stuck...

@fudgegonewild I'll have a play with the mouse control, might be nice.

@stealthorc Thanks for playing, I agree the timers are too short. I didn't realise when setting them that I've been practicing and playing the game for two days compared to a "newcomer", added a note to self for next jam to check the difficulty :D Also that medal system is such a good idea, I was struggling to come up with a good goal for the game but that would be a perfect fit!

@mkoziello @candyyy0728 Thanks for playing!

I have to admit I'd have been fired from my crane operator job very quickly haha. The game is a lot of fun and it feels really nice to make progress and get better at it. The physics worked super nice, props on you for getting it to play so nicely in a new engine!

fabula-rasa 2023-10-05 22:19

Some wacky physics is always fun to have! My road to being the Best Crane Operator in the Universe was quite rocky - I was confusing arrows with WS all the time  But after a while, I was swinging all the crates like there's no tomorrow! My favorite way of delivering the crate was to swing it, like a child on a swing, straight into the hole and press space. I wonder if management liked that

I sadly met a bit of a game-stopper bug. The crate just refused to get any ropes and be picked up. It might have been caused by me knocking this crate off the top of the stack with the crane. But who knows. It only happened once.

Graphics is alright. Nothing amazing, but does its job well. Shame there are no sounds - that could really add to the experience. I imagine something cartoony and a bit silly. I am not a very serious crane operator, am I? No one should trust me with their containers, really

Nice game!

mistercarson 2023-10-05 22:21

Overall a super fun game! Playing around with physics is always a good time. My only gripe is I wish I could control the sensitivity of crane in the settings or something. It could be fun to customize the game that way so once you get better you can try and run through the game faster. But thats just a quality of life thing, other than that it's super goof. Nice work!

mooptychunk 2023-10-05 22:30

Challenging and made me laugh when the boxes would get stuck. Super fun!

ciaranw 2023-10-05 22:35

Fun little game, good concept, but for me the timers were way too short. I tried 5 or 6 times on the first timer level, but got too frustrated, since since the containers would often get stuck at the exit! Either longer timers or more forgiving exits would help smooth the difficulty curve! There were also a few times where the container would just oscillate wildly on the end of my hook, and I just had to wait for it to stabilize, which was quite frustrating.

I did skip ahead to the last level, which I did enjoy, since the timer was longer so I could have more time playing with the controls. It was interesting to have to dig underneath and find the named containers so put on the belts, and felt like real crane operator work. Some sound and music would be very welcome though.

Graphics look cute and suit the game well - it looks nice!

Minor comment on the menus - I kept trying to use my mouse, but that obviously didn't work - it would be nice to have some mouse support in them. I did appreciate the level select so I could see more of the game even though I was bad at it

Playing the game felt like being a crane operator, which is a unique experience. The simple graphics were a nice touch, but the gameplay felt a bit slow for me, especially since precision is crucial. Unfortunately, I never managed to finish any job before the timer ran out. One suggestion I have is to make the shadows, especially the one under the crane, darker. It would enhance the visual clarity. Adding music and sound effects could greatly improve the overall experience and motivation. I'm envisioning a slow-paced piano and drum tune to complement the gameplay

bobbie 2023-10-07 01:56

The concept is really neat, it feels SUPER satisfying when you perfectly nail the rotation of a container and it slides in.

It seems like some of the issues I had were brought up already, but the couple bits of feedback I'd have are: - The time between dropping the crate on the belt and receiving score/confirmation felt pretty long. I failed a level because I was anxiously waiting for my crate to get far enough while it was out of view. - A couple times I got a crate rotated upside-down, which seemingly made it unrecoverable. I'm not sure if this is intentional - it felt a bit defeating to have to restart because it rotated weird on the way to the exit

Definitely seems like the type of game that could go far with some polish, very solid job overall!

juanrod707 2023-10-07 02:14

janky physics always deliver fun! great game, but most of all, great NAME!

paul-maaswinkel 2023-10-07 10:26

Fun game, loved the graphics. Physics were fun as well! Sometimes the stretchy ropes flip out though, making it uncontrollable. One thing that almost caused me to not play the game: after clicking Start (which worked), I couldn't click on the levels, and thought the game had frozen, had to force quit and try again. After some trial and error I found out you had to use the arrow keys to navigate the level menu.

mehul 2023-10-08 05:45

Fun idea, I wonder if there was an opportunity to simplify controls using the mouse tho I guess the controls add to the wacky controls

melowicyan 2023-10-15 15:03

Nice game, but i have some trouble with controls ahah. Realy good graphics.

kuggenhoffen 2023-10-16 17:46

@sozey Thanks for playing! The physics are kinda weird, I've been trying to make them more logical since the jam but have been failing miserably :D

@fabula-rasa Thanks for great feedback! Fallen over containers can still be picked up if you move the hook close to the middle of the side with the text, I didn't have time to make it work from all sides, that's on the todo list now! Also sound and music, I've been thinking something cartoony that adds to the urgency and chaos when trying to move the containers aroudn fast.

@mistercarson Thanks for playing! Crane speed sounds like a good idea, I'll add it to the todo list!

@ciaranw Great feedback and thanks for trying it out! I'll see about fixing the mouse on the menus. The other stuff is already under work!

kuggenhoffen 2023-10-16 17:54

@ahbee-studio-nex-us Piano and drum tune sounds good, I'll have a play around with some music to see how it might fit. Thanks for playing!

@bobbie Very good feedback, both issues are easy to fix and really do take away from the experience when encountered.

@juanrod707 @melowicyan @mooptychunk Thanks for trying it out!

@paul-maaswinkel Thanks for playing! Sorry about ,ouse not working on menus wasn't intentional, not sure why that happened. Physics are kinda hacky so they do flip out occasionally.

@mehul Wacky physics and controls was a bit intentional, but I'll have a play around with the controls to see if mouse or controller would work well. Thanks for playing!

Great concept! For some reason I had a lot of trouble just learning the controls, I really wanted WSAD to be the horizontal movement instead of the arrow keys. (Gamepad controls would be a great addition BTW, probably left stick for horizontal movement, right stick for up/down/rotate IMO.) Plus the overall feel of the movement, particularly the rotation when you were carrying a crate, was pretty tough to get used to due to the slow acceleration. Got through the tutorial and level 1, level 2 was too tough for me to finish mostly due to the time limit and awkward starting position. Things like making the crane movement faster/more responsive, a more forgiving opening for the crates and a smoother difficulty curve between levels would help a lot with making it more fun. Physics stuff like this definitely has the potential to be really fun and satisfying. Nice work!
