I survived a day of work in space!
I noticed the combat state carries over to the next battle so I usually start battles with no action points in the first round. On the plus side I keep my shields! My strategy was to choose combats, and increase shields as much as possible and only attack if I have to, unless they have 3 damage then kill them as fast as I can. Sorry aliens... I gotta job to do.
@sarah-northway Thanks for taking the time to try and I hope you enjoy it. For the fact that the fight starts again with a turn in progress, yes it is a problem that I encountered due to a bad start on the method of doing things.
I tried to correct it but I preferred to send this functional version than to break everything at the end ^^
For the shield yes it remains a totally viable strategy :)
In any case thank you
Neat game, I like the art for the enemies, they're just little guys. The gameplay is fun, though shield stacking is a bit strong lol. I would recommend lowering the event rates, as my first run through I got 4 events in a row, with no option for combat. If I left then I wouldn't have even seen the core gameplay, haha. Overall very cool
I liked the concept, reminded me of a slay the spire - in space.
I do like your interpretation of the theme.
The combat was very abusable, but in a funny way. An easy fight I could stockpile as much shield as I wanted, then the next enemies could never get through my shield!
Good job on the jam :)
Very interesting and fun game. I liked the combat the most. :)
@treblecolby Events or Fight have 50% chance to roll Each element draws its roll, that the reason of able to have events several times, but just like the shields it's just a balancing which is not easy to find
Thank's for playing and for your feedback
@gwen-dekker More precisely a mix of Out There and Slay The Spire ^^
With a little more time there would have been the possibility of changing the quality of the rolls, namely no more green, blue or yellow cards etc... the same for the type, I had planned to be able to play more shield or weapon with a card that did damage equal to the current shield and reset it to zero :)
Unfortunately the time of the Jam caught up with me...
@raineshadow Thanks for the feedback :)
Wow, That's a lot of work in such a short amount of time! impressive!
@evogengames Thank you, I wanted to be more ambitious as said above but unfortunately time is running out in Jam

I really enjoyed this. Great work getting so much done! Love the gameplay.
@rodvik Thanks, I hope you enjoy it :)

With combat never resetting, i was building up insame amount of shield against weaker enemy at the beginning (Ending with 30+) and just rolled over all the content, choosing Event when i could (Nice strat am i right ?)
I'm pretty sure you had a lot of idea to had, but coming up with "deck" based game on 48h is already a really good things, pretty nice job !
@vollfeiw Thank you for your feedback, I may have been a little strong with the shileds, but it's still a good strategy, afterward I was also just looking to have a cool game, where everyone can win I'm not a huge fan of games too difficult

Zoom to play in the browser worked for me. As others have mentioned I was surprised by the complete carryover of battle state.
@godsboss Yes, the turn-based combat system is very basic, that's even why there is an end turn button. Because it was to simplify a lot of things ^^
Thank you for trying :)
Good game, I enjoy turn-based combat like this. However, I don't understand how the deck building works. I spent my cards, but in the new combat, I started with just a few cards, and in the next turn, I had better cards. I don't understand this aspect of the game, sorry T_T.
Lots of diversity with quite a few different encounters/story and resources to manage, I can see why time was short for art :P Good job!
@plepletier Because the cards are drawn randomly according to a type and quality, like a roguelike which determines the action rather than a pre-established deck. But I admit that I could have taken this other approach. Thanks for feedback :)
@freeworld Thank you... The more I progressed on the project, the more I said to myself "but if I add that, it would be even better" ^^
Good game! I really liked the way you implemented cards as the UI. Great job!
Impressive game! I love rouge-like card games so I could see myself spending a lot of time with this if you continued to develop it.
@ingeniousphoenix Thank you, I tried to make it as simple as possible and I played with two or three animations to make it a little more dynamic :)
@linus-lindberg I'll be honest I've never continued a jam game, but I agree that with a 3D artist and a little debugging it would be possible to do something with it :) Thanks for your feedback
Good job on getting a lot done in a little time. The ui elements are headed in the right direction. Clearly I am not a very good space worker and have a lot to learn to survive in space
@don-shinski next time I'll make a pizza maker in space, it will be better I think ^^ Thanks for playing

Liked the concept of mixing cards with a classic rpg combat. And the graphics were pleasant if a bit simple. Might be a point to Nerf the shields a bit and have some more ways to bypass them.
@jens-g Yes it would take a good balancing pass if moreover people have resources on how to carry out a simple balancing I will take :)
I like the card game, it's funny and maybe with more time can be a good final game!
Well done! Take a candy! :candy:
>The images of planets, monsters, are not mine
does this not break the rules for the compo? (of course it's fine for the "Jam" category)
Reminds me of oregon trail! I would love to see this concept fleshed out more / with more polish.
You managed to fit a lot in with the resource management + card game aspect but yeah it was a bit jarring transitioning between those states without knowing if you won or lost battles.
