This looks really cool but the camera kept spinning on me and which made me kind of dizzy.
Didn't rate, maybe it's just a bug on my PC, something to look into :)

@ofiro: Thanks for trying! In case it's just the mouse sensitivity that's too high I've now quickly patched in keys to press to adjust it, and updated the description above. If it's not that then I'm not sure what to do. :(
That did it :)
I like how you set the atmosphere. Switched off the lights to really get into it.
I would have liked a bit more gameplay wise :)
@ofiro: Thank you for trying again, glad it worked! I might do a post-jam version for the first time ever for this one to get some of the puzzles in there that I wanted each car to have… Will play yours after work, it looks great! c:
COOL I LIKE THE THEME WITH TRAINS ME AND MY TEAM ALSO MADE A TRAIN LOCATION IN NOVEL The atmosphere is really dark and it motivates me to run to doors
Scary! A post-jam version would be nice! Maybe add a reason for all the other people missing from the train?
Camera is a bit uncomfortable, bu i liked the atmosphere and mood a lot!
Stunning to look at and very atmospheric!
Very cool, i had much fun playing it despite the fact that it was horror, I guess :D
Very atmospheric and stylized, but gameplay is a bit boring. Anyway, great work, good luck!
Great visuals and mood! I understand lack of gameplay and puzzles given the time constraints, one man team and the looks of the result. The game can really turn out interesting if finished post-jam. Native builds would be a great addition too.
One bug: Space to lock/unlock cursor didn't work for me in Safari.
Overall: Great entry, nice job!
Awesome mood and art and what a plot twist! Nice game!
Cool and creepy. Camera movement was a little difficult for me but still fun.
Great atmosphere, really nice visual style and good suspense building. The game plot does leave some questions that perhaps doesn't have to be answered since it's a bit dreamy, but... perhaps the voice in the game could have said something about the missing passengers while walking back in the train. Like "Maybe everyone else got off" - "Is it only me left?". That could also help with answering the question if going back is the right way. It builds a progression, while hopefully not ruining the spooky buildup. The game was genuinely scary. Perhaps the doors going back in the train could have had a clearer locking sound too to explain the need for keys and perhaps the character could have turned around and pointed that out the first time it happened. But everything doesn't have to be explained either.
I had the visual glitch on the itch.io build in Firefox, the vignetting effect didn't show up as darkening but clipped out the train cabin and showed the outside. Fortunately it's dark and gloomy outside so it didn't disturb me.
The sounds also clipped a little, not sure if it happened when they started / ended or if happened when they were switched out by other sounds.
All in all though, a really really great entry!
The mouse controls are too abrupt, but the atmosphere of the game itself is awesome, I was afraid a screamer was going to fly out at me
I really had a lot of difficulty with the camera on the mouse, it was too sensitive, it was really difficult to control, it was dizzy. The environment is very good graphically and sound. I picked up two keys on the way back, but I couldn't find the third one, if there was one. So I don't know if there is an end. Good sounds of the guy knocking on the door, scared me a little. It's really cool to have a setting in a train carriage, I wonder how much you can do with it.
Thanks to everyone who played so far! Lots of great feedback.
Seems clear the camera controls need some work for next time, but just to make sure, did you try the M key to decrease sensitivity, @meowellyq, @polina-fl, and @lincolnsalles? Was it still bad after that? :(
There is indeed a key in every car and an end to the game (another cutscene which lost me even more of the time I could've used to make the "levels" more interesting :p)
Thanks for specifying you had the vignette issue on Firefox, @local-minimum! Unfortunately no difference here, so I suspect it's just a driver thing, I saw the same issue on Windows with my LD52 game (same engine, more or less the same shader code) which also didn't show up on my Mac, so I wonder what it could be… 😞 Locking sound and a reaction would've been great, yeah!
@lincolnsalles No, I didn't use the M key, I only read it after playing. I looked a lot for the third key, I even looked at the ceiling lol. But I must have forgotten to look somewhere clear.
@lincolnsalles: Thanks for clarifying! c: Third key's on one of the shelves above the seats, sticking out a little over the edge.
That was some driver! I guess he had a tough time in the bathroom, eh? Happens to all of us, I suppose. But I have to say, I was spooked out in the meantime. In a way it's good that we can't see the pursuer - the imagination conjures something very creepy. The element of suspense in this game is very good.
Yes, the gameplay can be developed, but there is a lot of potential here. It is a cinematic experience and the sound and graphics create an eerie atmosphere. An unusual and creative entry.
This looks great. I like the cohesive style of all the graphics. The subdued rust color of everything really adds to the feel. Audio was great too. Everything sounds just as it should. A little bit more variation in each carriage would have been nice, but it doesn't affect the game much. The gameplay is simple enough, which is what you want in a jam game. I don't like time limits in games, but I think one would have worked well here. I guess that wouldn't gel with the ending gag though. All in all a great entry. Good stuff :8ball:
Hey, thank you two! You've guessed it, @gamebuilder :)
@oddballdave: I had the idea of a time limit due to a secondary threat that would've worked with the ending: the train simply derailing. But yeah, no time :(
You have created a really frightening atmosphere. That's why I liked this game!
Really liked the vibe in this game, nailed the mysterious feeling. Would have been really nice to see what you had in mind for the gameplay if you didn't get cut short. But nonetheless it was still a decently complete experience.
I wasn't really a fan of the camera controls, felt really floaty and imprecise. Also not sure if intended but the sound was causing a popping for me which was quite annoying, and took away from the otherwise really creepy atmosphere.
Great job with the cutscenes - you don't often get to see narrative experiences like that in jams so it definitely stood out, but maybe next time make sure you can also get your desired gameplay sorted too. Overall, still a really good entry though!
The sensitivity of the mouse/cursor felt a bit too high. Maybe because I am used to slow sens due to shooters, but it made playing the game harder for me. That said, I love the horror atmosphere you created through visuals and sounds. The sound of door opening/closing reminds me of a monster breathing. Playing this at 3 am was not my best idea T_T Wasn't easy to get the active area to highlight sometimes, had to move my mouse around a lot, and my eyes quickly got tired from pixel hunting in the semi-dark. I was super scared the whole time, barely made the final key highlight and then WHAT? "that was a driver in the bathroom behind me the whole time"??? How do I interpret this??? Well, I guess that's a good ending lol xD AND YOU GOT ME SO SCARED GOD DAMN!
Nice graphics and atmosphere!
Oh oh oh oh excellent! I really like the game and the... twist. Impressive game for a jam, congrats
Really liked the mood. It was pretty tense and i was preparing to be jumpscared. The ending was hilarious xD
the game is very interesting, I liked it, the idea is good
Awesome atmosphere. It's obvious that you did a really good job. I played with pleasure.
Thanks, everyone! <3
I should've probably decreased the default mouse sensitivity since it seemed to be too high for more people than not. Hope some of you saw in the description that it was possible to decrease it 😅 I really need a proper settings screen for my next one… Brightness settings too maybe.
Sound popping was a web issue and unfortunately I never got around to those native builds. I thought it kind of fit the "off" mood of the game tho so I didn't feel too bad about it.
I'm glad at least the mood and the scares worked out which is what I spent most of my time on~
