Very tough! Neat concept though, I'm enjoying yeeting plants :joy:
Very difficult :) but quite original and playable.
Really nice game. I wish I could full screen, because the window is very small.
Do the fish not do anything?
I played until I won. I hate that stupid bird.
Also, sometimes the baskets would be pretty synched, so that one basket was blocking the one I needed for a long time. There should be a bit more variation in their speed so they don't synch as much.
Great idea! It plays really well. I don't know why I'm throwing veggies across fish, but it's pretty fun.
Setup is a bit confusing at first but after you get it it's fun !
Fun game. Reminds me of old Atari games in terms of gameplay and mechanics. Any game with fish AI gets a thumbs up from me!
iwonletsgo.png It took a while, but I won! This is a pretty cool small game, it took me a while to realize that you could hold multiple balls at once. So, I was only doing 1 ball at a time for the majority of my run. After I realized that fact, the gameplay sped up a bit. The bird constantly coming in and removing my progress was kind of annoying though. This seems like the type of game where the goal would be to accomplish the objective as fast as possible, or as stylish as possible, so a timer or something similar would be nice. This would fit well as a small arcade game. Overall, good job!
Very cool and creative concept. But I was a bit confused at the beginning. For some reason, it felt like I was supposed to wait for something to load. And then it wasn't immediately apparent I had to go down to grab the colors.
Once rocking, the game is pretty intuitive.
Congrats for the concept ! It's a bit hard to figure out what to do at the begining and I think we could use a progress bar for the shoot. Otherwise really good game !
Nice game. The art is pretty simple but it's got some old Intellivision vibes. I also agree with who posted that the buckets sometimes move in sync and it becomes pretty much impossible to throw into the bucket I am actually aiming for. Some variation would probably help
I think the player is required to read too much to know what to do. After figuring it out though, the idea is fairly original and the mechanics are all implemented well. One thing that slightly bothers me is that there isn't any reason not to fully charge a throw. At first I thought if I overshot then it wouldn't go in the basket but eventually I realised it goes in anyway. I think it would be too difficult if that was actually the case but maybe if holding down space made the aim oscillate between the furthest and closest points, it could be a cool mechanic.
The duck felt a bit unfair and don't know what the deal with the fish i though they would block projectile but they didn't
Fun gameplay once I got it! I think the theme is somewhat bolted on (the Harvest zone at the bottom seems kind of superfluous, it's not difficult to go and collect stuff, etc.) but I can understand just adding a feature to see if you can make it happen (timers, item collection). Love stuff that's mechanics focused like this, good job!
the onboarding is slightly confusing but its fun afterwards! :D
This was really hard! I actually gave up in frustration but I came back, and once I got the hang of it the second time around my experience improved considerably! At one point that damn bird ate all of a single colour in one pass and I nearly through my computer out the window but other than that this was really cool - lots of skill required but very satisfying to master and complete.
Thanks for all your feedback and the time to spend testing my game.
@justin-c @pincushion @the3rdhunter @herryfabien : I noticed several questions about fish. In fact I didn't finish the game, the fish had to jump from time to time and eat the projectiles. Otherwise if a projectile fell into the water the fish had to eat it by swimming towards it.
@justin-c @starboihooch @tanis : For baskets, it should have a more random behavior but I forgot to add this little line of code ;-)
@scolondev @alex-de-la-cour @justin-c : Thank you for your perseverance and your interest in my game
That wasn't easy but i succed to beat it ! Nice work !
the bird is a bigger threat than i initially thought  nice game, you can play at your own pace focusing on one color or stocking up on all remaining colors and getting back to throwing as fast as possible. it just took me a second to realize that you had to stand on the throw zone for the spacebar to work
Nice concept! It's pretty straightforward and was simple to understand. The only thing that took time to figure out was needing to press up arrow to throw. I was thinking it would just be spacebar.
It was very hard to get the harvest into the last bucket. Also, I think "Hold to set strength" could be taken out and it'd still be as much fun. Nice concept!
It took me a while to understand the objective of the game, but then it became easy, it reminds me of that game of hitting the duck, but this time with plantations... interesting, there was no music, but the game worked completely, congratulations!
How did you put a video on top of the title of the game (Ludum Dare page)? teach me!
Check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/space-harvest
@lfreinoso : it’s not a video on the top but the game itself. My game use an html5/canvas so I put a zip file with a index.html on the root and upload in ludum dare page (embedded html)
