I had to go full screen to see the advance year button, but once I did that I worked out how to play. The ending invasion is cool, that's probably the smallest pixel art enemy I've ever seen, well done, good game :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Moon Base EVAC

The concept is nice, I had to try a couple of times to get what every building was doing and how to place them since there isn't any explaination about that. I haven't managed to survive long enough, I always get raided before I can setup a portal. I loved the minimalist graphics too!
The game is pretty hard, I only managed to get to the second base once. Really liked it though!
Cool, although hard. Tiny soldiers and invasion was awesome. It lacked some explanation. Also, bit confusing was that power counter doesn't work as others. Music very moody (although, 'blipping' was quickly irritating).
That was great. The invasion was really well done. The building system is a bit clunky, but functional. It would have been nice to highlight which things can be built. I managed to get to the fourth moon, but got invaded with 4% chance. Quite annoying but keeps it tense. A restart button would also have been nice since it needs to happen a lot.
For some reason, I was not getting any energy. Not sure why. I didn't see any people moving in the base. The graphics were pretty good.
I can't seem to figure out how to get power. I build a shaft, two housings and a pwerplant. I've tried multiple configurations, but don't seem to be earning power or have any idea how to do so.
@itskdog and @zliebowitz Power Plants increase the *max* power, sorry, the game is really rough around the edges and has bad UI and lack of feedback to the player. So 0/2 means you have 2 left to use. Thanks for playing anyway :)
I really liked this! Pulling off a base builder in 48 hours is impressive in itself, but the invasion loop (and the animation) was a particularly clever take on the theme!
The systems implemented are pretty impressive, though I did struggle to have fun with this. No matter how low the detection chance was, there was always a real possibility that the game would end instantly. This would not even be so bad if I was allowed to keep building, but the harsh limit on that guaranteed that I would be restarting over and over again. Eventually I managed to save up enough to build a single turret, though it turned out to be so weak I patted myself on the back for being able to jump between three bases before inevitably failing.
I see a cool idea here, though the randomness would need to be really modified to deliver a better experience. The fact the base layout matters to how the invaders destroy the base can be greatly expanded on, so more strategic building would matter more! Keep it up!
@toppervideogames thank you for the detailed feedback! I am very aware of your concerns haha, I hope I will get back to this project soon as I have a lot of ideas to improve it!
Neat game! At first, it was hard to understand how it worked. For example, the HUD could give better hints, like highlighting when something needs more power than there's available, where each building can be placed etc. Anyway, I kept trying, and now I've already survived well over a hundred years.
As for the randomness, maybe delaying when the risk of being discovered starts increasing or allowing the player to still do something after being discovered would help. There's a lot of potential there to require the player to develop good strategies.
Nice game play core! The graphics were crispy and the music mood was perfect! Overall, I enjoyed the game. But because of the build dialog box I could not place the objects where I wanted? In the end, my turrets destroyed all the lander, so they didn’t have a chance to invade though.
I enjoyed this. It took a bit to figure out how to play, but it was a fun challenge trying to build up my bases. The art worked well, and the music was good too. It might have been nice to be able to speed the game up once the attacks start, and I had trouble with itch.io's links overlay in the top right corner blocking the Next Year button. But I was able to zoom out in my browser to work around that.
Cool game! The music is awesome, and the art style is nice. My only suggestion would be to give player a bit more time at the start, since even with low percent there is a possibility to end the game too early - before player can build many defenses, which happened to me on my first try. Beside that great job!
Very nice! Everything fits nicely, the graphics with the music are super cool. Got attacked at like 6% first try and on the second I rushed for the ring so they couldnt get me :D
Really cool game. I did get lucky and not have an early invasion on my first few moons, but even if I did I think it'd still have been fun. The building is a bit clunky, not being able to build under my UI sucked, but it was kind of refreshingly simple. I liked all of the module's mechanics, though I think perhaps the turrets were a bit strong! With the turrets I felt like I wanted to keep building!
