Nice game. Love the render and how smooth is the character. πŸ‘

Nice use of the theme. The art and sound were great. Game felt good to control as well.

Animation is very smooth! Can't stop just running around :) Graphics and audio are good too! Thanks for the game!

Absolutely love the art style and especially the bird's sprites. :D Everything just looked really satisfying. I mostly wish there was a tad bit more to do. For example, some sort of bonus for long streaks/combos, avoiding obstacles/enemies, high score boards, etc., to give each level a lot more replayability. :)

Love the bird sound

Hey mate. Great music and art. I understand this is a jam game so asking for features mit be a bit much, so the only other thing I have to say is to let the player use WASD. The arrow keys are really tiny on some computers so games are way harder when one must play with them.

Those birb noises!!

tested 2022-04-05 23:01

cool concept and nice birb

hcs-hades 2022-04-06 04:48

The music you made was awesome! Definitely got some super mario vibes from the background haha. The bird player was very cute :)

ianthebee 2022-04-06 13:37

@hcs-hades Thanks for the comment! The music was actually made by my friend SpaceSpy :)

blue-pin-studio 2022-04-07 03:35

Great entry! I loved the squash and stretch and all of the art too. At first i was confused by why i lost, but then i remembered the theme :P Made it to 1:05~

Very juicy from beginning to end! Cute game. Really looks like a platypus though but Im okay with that.

yaen 2022-04-08 00:57

Aww this was so cute :) Even dying felt kind of juicy and cute. If there's one thing to criticize it's that the music stopped when dying and never resumed again. Sad, I really liked the music!

ianthebee 2022-04-08 02:04

@yaen Man, i'm very sorry about the music bug. I will fix that after the rating period :)

fluri 2022-04-08 21:03

Really like the squishy cheep cheep :> Screen Shot 2022-04-08 at 17.00.54.png

jirushi 2022-04-08 21:05

Nvm it doesn't look like a platypus anymore mow that I'm sober

jirushi 2022-04-08 21:09

Jk I'm still not sober

The game is very fun! The music is catchy and I've gotten as far as a minute into the first map. Great game!

papabirb 2022-04-13 01:21

Fun little game! Wish the non-fullscreen version was a bit bigger so I could see what I'm doing better, because the framerate seriously drops when I use fullscreen for this one for some reason. I love that it's just sort of a sandbox platformer with respawning seeds, and I love the way the sound for the seed pickup increases as you keep picking them up, that's some good polish. Love the bird noises, and good choice of music to pick. Art style is fantastic. Bounce pads are hard to use and if you don't time it right you can't even beat the tutorial with them, I kept dying there until I figured it out. Inclusion of a tutorial and practice mode is great though. Love the level names, very Mario/sonic style.

By the way, you can tag your itch.io game as an LD50 entry, it'll add a banner at the top so people can come seen this submission if they find the game via itch.io first :)

Hmm, I would post a comment here, but @papabirb beat me to it! Saying basically everything I would have! So yeah, I agree with them full stop.

Although I will add, that I feel the gameplay here is just a tad shallow. I just cannot last long enough for it to be worth it. I feel there should be things that could tip the scale *just slightly* in the players' favor. Plus, even though my entry suffers from the same thing I'm gonna say it anyway, there's too few levels. Maybe there could've been 6, or maybe even 9! But I don't know what the development was like, so that's probably asking too much.

Well, wouldn't you look at that, I ended up posting a full comment anyways! And *that's* why I don't make promises! So yeah, good work there, pal!

Oh, yeah, the only time I remember getting was 1:14 on the first stage. Have a good day.

Really fun little game! I enjoyed the feel of moving the bird around the maps. The whole package was oddly very satisfying...I think the colorful art style combined with the thick lines and fluid animation really worked well together.

Great game mate!! It feels incredibly polished, the art is lovely and the sound effects and music fit really well. I like the idea of a very simple core loop and polishing everything around it for a game jam. I think this can be easily turned into a multiplayer game, where you compete for food with other players. Nice job!!

hawkin 2022-04-19 01:34

Great polish and solid idea! The sound design and art blended really well into a nostalgic feel. The polish is definitely where you earn the most points! Not easy to achieve in a jam.
