Game doesn't work for me, missing "libgcc_s_seh-1.dll"
@genpaku Which operating system are you on?
@benjamin-gare Win 10 Pro
Same here, same dll missing :(
@genpaku @vectrex28 I've reuploaded to itch.io with the dll. Can you try again and let me know if it works?
@genpaku @vectrex28
I removed my path to mingw and it notified me of the two dlls that were missing. I added those to the root directory of the zip.
- libgcc_s_seh-1.dll - libstdc++-6.dll
And now it works. Enjoy!
@benjamin-gare now its error "0xc0000007b" i've checked it on web and it's something with "DirectX", ".NET" or "Visual C++ Redistributable"
Unable to download the build. I get an error that says "Invalid Upload".
Works for me! Reminds me a lot of Smash TV, if Smash TV was made for Ludum Dare :P One positive I can find is that the difficulty progression is actually pretty decent. With a faster pace, more weapons, and maybe a sountrack, it could be a fun infinite arcadey shooter :)
@genpaku Thank you for looking into that. I'm troubleshooting now. If I find a solution I will ping you again.
yea now it works :D Cool game, but i had to take my headphones off cause it was too loud :P I like that score is not only based on killed enemies but you have added some cash to collect.
@benjamin-gare i think that i've downloaded it to fast, when you said that "I’ve reuploaded to itch.io with the dll." then it had only one dll and that was the version with error, now everything is fine :)
@genpaku thank you. Per your feedback. I've adjusted the sound volume a lot. Turns out I had my volume way low on my PC.
no going to play (or rate) because My browser (chrome) AND antivirus says it is suspect (I don't want to download a virus). Thought you should be aware
@eli-haun Did you have a screenshot? I'm wondering if the browser is triggering that just because it is a zip file.
Oh yeah! just like Smash TV. I got 123 seconds staying in the centre and not moving at all :'). Great submission!
Got 625 points!
Actually, I would like to see a lot more upgrades. Overall, it's a good take on the theme.
PS *It runs well on Windows 10 x64.
PS **Sorry, all that kind of games reminds me Vampire Survivors :grin:
I wanted to add more weapons, powerups, and upgrades. However, I ran out of time :smile: !
But more importantly, I wanted to add a leaderboard cause it favors this type of game. Keeping track of your best times and scores.
Nice game! I got to 480 points. Gameplay is really fun and I like the audio feedback you get when picking up upgrades or killing enemies. Could be cool if enemies spawned from all directions rather than just left and right.
Game worked well for me. Thanks I enjoyed it :)
I love Robotron 2084.
I wish more LD games were like this. Just a simple, straightforward concept that's hard to get wrong. And you did a lot of things right here. I like the gun mechanics, where picking up the upgrade only gives you one clip of bullets, so you have to keep picking it up again. At first I thought the ideal strategy was to just sit in the center of the screen and shoot, but that got me moving.
Overall, though, there is room for additions. Some sort of crowd control option like a grenade or a shotgun would really open this game up, since I found that I was usually finished once the crowds got too large. Also, making the targets wider so they are easier to hit from above and below would be a good change in my view. Great job, though, you made a solid 48 hour game.
@charlesschar They do spawn from top and bottom. Their spawner starts at about 40 seconds into it.
Added the web version here: https://garegames.com/games/ld50/game.html
@quinn-patrick I'm thinking about using this as a foundation for a bigger project.
@eli-haun I've got a web version up that you can play on since the download route didn't work well for you.
Interesting game. Not crazy about the shooting controls, but it works. Pretty fast paced and wonderful simple little game. Awesome work!
@sivarde I made a web version if you would like to try again.
Cute entry - really easy to get into - a bit more "flavor" to the playing field would have been good - but the mechanics work and it isn't long before you're under pressure :smile: :thumbsup_tone1:
Simple and fun. I like it!
I played the web version. It works :thumbsup:
139.27" and 1650 score
Simple and straightforward, I liked that the enemies dropped upgrades and it got pretty intense towards the end.
Some sound would have really added to the experience. Same goes for visual feedback. I didn't feel too incentivized to actually move around since it made things far more dangerous, and the spawn points were positioned precisely to the left and right and directly above and below me, which made aiming really easy.
Impressive for one person to have completed in 48 hours, you should feel proud!
Congrats on the upload!
Using score as an ammunition would be a greater idea to emphasize on the theme of delay the inevitable, could use a simple math formula to change the movement of enemies up a bit, more variation of gun types would be cool. Also a simple background sound would definitely improve the mood a lot more for a simple 2d shooter game with arrow controls. But other than that, good job on making it bug free!
Pretty fun! I wish the enemies had some more varied behavior and there was some music though.
I just saw a live from your game, and I was playing it when I saw your feed post. I know how hard it is to make a game in 48 hours for COMPO. I thought it was really cool the way you used the HUD, covering the entire frame of the screen, and the power ups were used intelligently.
I'm not evaluating the use of the theme much, because it was actually a very difficult one, but I think I could have explored a little more, not just the time and number of enemies.
Congratulations!

The web version works well. Simple and fun, good job ;)
Nice job! Fun little arcade game
Congrats for doing all by yourself, I wanna see more of this game hope you improve it a lot more but it's amazing :D
A good take on the topic, compliments that you created the game all by yourself! I played in browser and it worked pretty well. Nice job!
fun game! makes me think of those old school browser games.Nice work!
Fun game, played the web version, performs well :)
Simple and efficient compo game! Easy to understand, easy to play, mechanics works pretty well. Nice job! One thing you could add to improve the game is to make the ennemies to spawn at other positions. Because right now, the best strategy seems to stay at the middle of the screen so you can have direct shots at incoming enemies. Good job on your game!
Very basic game, but hey it works :) Gameplay isn't very fun and the weapon pickup didn't seem to do anything. Game needs more and bigger shooting :D
