First of all, the graphics are stunning ! Such a great pixel art quality in that amount of time is super hard ! The gameplay felt very good and sharp. Finally, the quality of the music left me with a question : is there anything you can't do ?

PS: I would have loved some more levels, I guess that shows this game is great !

Dang, graphics are nice and I love the music, it's so good..! How do you make your music? Gameplay feels solid. I don't think it's intentional to get worse if you collect more than one star, is it? Happened in the fourth level.

Basic operation feels good. Graphic / music / levels design are all quite perfect.

The level of polish is great! Some way of exiting the game mid-level would be nice, but for a jam game it's understandable. This was a really nice experience!

@stefan-jovanovic the stage started (and it lit me on fire instantly), I hit the explosives and died with the explosion like normal. that's all I could tell

Great game! Both art style and music are amazing. The whole concept of the game is cool too. Really well polished game.

Here are some comment about last level. It was really hard to hit the fire turret. The required jumping precision was too high for my taste opinion due to the short time limit. And the turret sometime position itself in such a way that it was impossible to hit it. Also in one of my attempts, the turret stop moving and shooting completely and took no damage, no matter how many times I tried to hit it.

Anyway, I had a great time playing!

A good platformer with an interesting idea. Very high quality graphics and animation. I went through the whole game with pleasure. The main character is very cute.

Nice work! Amazing amount of polish and content for a compo game. Double jump feels a little flakey. Could not get past the third level - how do you have time to reach the extinguisher!

@tigerfinch Thanks for the kind words! What do you exactly mean by double jump, since I haven't implemented double jump in the game? :sweat_smile: Regarding the third level, you have to rush to the top and collect the extinguisher right when the level starts!

Very nice game, it looks so polished, can't beleive it was done in 48h! Well done. I like the fuse mechanic, it really makes the gameplay unique. That was pretty hard for my skills, I couldn't master wall jump and beat lvl 4, but anyway I had great fun playing this.

Really great level design and the whole thing feels very polished! Tutorial level is nicely layed out and Audio and graphics are great too. Just had a little issue on level 4 when i died on the bottom floor no restart option came up but it seemed to work every where else. Overall I really enjoyed it, nice one!

I was really impressed with the graphics, as were a lot of folks! Beautiful, great color choice, nice animations, including the dust behind the character when it moved. And I loved the flag at the end of each level. Nice work!

Awesome entry - audio, visuals, levels are great. I wasn't really sure how I finished the last level. As for feedback - if anything the character control feel could be a bit better (not sure, probably slightly more dynamic). 5 stars

Looks great and plays well. A+ on every level. Would be nice to see some visual distinction between the turret being on or off, rather than a big text pop-up telling you exactly what to do. Perhaps a tracking laser and shield while it's actively attacking you and in a defensive mode, and just the ZZZ while it's sleeping. Having a noise for when you try to attack it but can't do damage would help distinguish from when you can as well.

Great work, The pixel art is cute and nicely done, soundtrack is fun and appropriate (EDIT thats weird you opt out of audio? maybe you didn't make the music just the SFX?) and the core mechanic is quite an interesting twist that I haven't seen before and nice take on the theme. Made it through all levels apart from 3 which seemed to be impossible, I start on fire and I think have no way to reach the extinguisher before the time is up, I was playing the 1.01 version. And you even squeezed in a boss fight, for 48H this is some pretty impressive work. Well done.

Really stunning art, the bomb character and the environments have a lot of personality. The platforming works really well and the premise is clear. I like how getting hit by multiple fires causes your fuse to burn faster, it incentivizes being more careful when lit and gives you more time to find the extinguisher. The mechanic could go down a more puzzling route if the bomb character had different platforming abilities when lit, it would be a puzzle to solve when to touch the fire and where to go with greater speed or something like that. The stages are short and sweet. I found the boss to be a touch easy if you hang out in the corners but for a cute platformer, a boss like Kirby's Whispy Woods that's a bit of a pushover is par for the course. I encountered one error that forced me to quit out, in which the fuse on the bomb character stayed lit on the third stage and the level did not reset after death. A really solid game, well done!

Being faster while lit seems like a really cool idea which would also lead to you being able to jump further, will have to experiment with that. Were you playing compo version or version 1.0.1 cause I thought I fixed that bug with the level not restarting in version 1.0.1?

Really nice visual polish! I like the little bomb and all of the level assets quite a lot. I completed the game, though I had to retry most levels as I was figuring out some of the interactions or getting a sense of the timing.

Needing to move my hand to the mouse to restart was really annoying, especially when level 3 starts with me on fire so I have to move my hand back to the keyboard really quickly. I had a lot of trouble with level 3, but I found that spamming jump seems to wall-climb faster than big wall-jumps and then I was able to barely make it (while skipping the star)

I don't see why I die when the 5th level boss shoots the explosive barrels if I am far away from them, but I think it's cool that you managed to fit in a boss fight.

@almost Thanks for the feedback! I agree that the UI should've been more keyboard focused. Regarding the barrels, the idea is that any time fire comes into the contact with them, they explode.

Your game was good! However... I see that you used pre-made music from here (stage 1):

In compo you should only use music that you make over the 48 hours, and not hide that you didn't do so... Just a heads up to next time!
