While simple, this game oozes personality and is overall a really nice, almost relaxing, experience. Something that caught my attention was the way the game conveys the platforms' integrity - baking them into the sprites themselves was a really clever idea. Good game.

Well done, I like the almost tron-like atmosphere! I'm not quite sure why I'm a cake in cybernetic world.. but why not. The cake is a lie, after all. :) Main issue issue I had is when I'm not in full screen, going up and down also scrolls the page. And when I'm in full screen, controlls don't work (tried on both firefox and chrome). Also, unless I'm missing something, I get stuck on level 2 (going through the portal restarts the level).

Very cool and stylish game! A bit sad that there are no jump/crunchy sounds, kinda missed opportunity without that feedback.

As was said above, platform stability is communicated very intuitively with appearing cracks and "slabs".

Awesome idea! I love the visuals and isometric view! Great job!

blueberry-mauro 2021-10-05 21:49

This game looks cool! The sfx would add a ton for this game. Great submission!

vimlark 2021-10-05 22:00

Great work. The game looks amazing but my brain definitely had trouble with the movement. But I have always had trouble in isometric.

achehex 2021-10-05 22:12

That was super super fun. The graphics are really appealing, with a lot of satisfying feedback on your jump and where you are about to land. Gameplay actually flows really well once your brain just gets in the right space and just chain jump after jump. Also the soundtrack is a complete jam, completely loved it, and it perfectly matches that sorta virtual ehtereal space look that the game has going one

My one nitpick is that the movement is in this middle ground of grid based and free flowing, some jumps the movement locked in a direction for longer than I expected before allowing me to turn to another direction so I ended up overshooting them.

That last jump was absolutely brutal tho. I'm glad I only had to do that one once.

Nice game that has great feel in general. The controls took some time to get used to. I didn't get pass the second level either without changing it from the level menu. Overall a great entry.

chillertyp 2021-10-08 11:54

I like the graphics and the sound.

mr-danh 2021-10-08 12:03

A fun arcade experience. I struggled a bit to judge the position of some of the platforms and not being able to move diagonally by holding two directions made it hard to make any emergency corrections to my position.

antrimplato 2021-10-08 12:11

Sweet job! I really like this graphics and the feeling of immersion C:

alpharock6 2021-10-08 15:41

Gorgeously presented concept :) I think you did a good job of teaching through "show not tell" design on the platform destruction requirement (and the # of hits it took to destroy them). I caught your game on Vim's stream originally and managed to make it further than him ;) but I'm also not the best with iso view navigation especially when it got on to the moving platforms. Nice entry!

geckoo1337 2021-10-08 18:45

Well done. This is an interesting entry with a clever concept. The main easthetic is gorgeous and music too. Maybe too hard for me ++

landosystems 2021-10-08 19:11

Fun game, nice lo fi aesthetic and good music. Wish there were sound effects for the stomps and platforms breaking, but it didn't detract too much. It got tough when the platforms changed to jaunty angles but was still able to get through. Great work!

sli 2021-10-08 21:40

Well that was pretty engaging I enjoyed it so much. I couldn't beat it but gave it some good time. The only issue for me is I don't like diagonal like grids in general. But this does not effect my grade. Really great job.

potatolain 2021-10-08 21:47

This was a fun little game! I love the aesthetic you've created between the music and the graphics - even without sound effects this game really stands out. It took me a little while to grasp what was going on - I actually thought the floating blocks in the background were something I was supposed to land on, and had decided the target platform was a piece of the background until it occurred to me to try hitting every platform. Once I did though, I managed to get a decent way through.

I will say I found the isometric controls hard to grasp. One option that might have helped me was making the movement more tile-based - forcing me into that grid a little more might have helped my brain get around it. I did really like that you showed where the cake was going to land - that would have been extremely hard to judge without it.

Thanks for a fun game!

robbzenone 2021-10-09 10:10

Very nice game. i liked the graphic and the challenging gameplay :) At first it was a little bit hard for me to use wasd in the isometric look but after some time it was good :)

praleks 2021-10-09 18:22

Good grphics and music. Quickly get used to the controls, but it is not always clear where you will fall

loveapplegames 2021-10-10 14:42

Very cute game with nice graphics, though rather difficult. I found gameplay is concentrated on hitting the platforms correctly, which is made harder by the optical illusion effect of the tilted platforms. Perhaps it would be nicer if this was easier, and the puzzle element of choosing your route could come more to the foreground.

trigrab 2021-10-11 13:46

Nice game. I am not made for the transfer your camera wants me to do. I think I would have rotated the movement keys. But on the other hand this increases the feeling of the unstable world.

Well done!

It's fun! Frustrating at times, but satisfying when I win a level. I managed to finish the game but I found it very hard towards the end and nearly gave up. I didn't realise until afterwards that the arrow moves in discrete steps. Until then I found it hard to control and didn't understand why. Cool special effects - you made good use of the low-res graphics.

gno-evenimente 2021-10-12 06:16

There is something about WASD controls and isometric perspective that doesn't work that well for me. That being said, after an initial period of getting used to it, I really enjoyed this game. I thought the visual presentation was amazing, too bad it was missing sound effects. I really like how all levels are unlocked so you can try out the latter levels right away. It's difficult, but very fun.

battlecoder 2021-10-12 23:26

Loved the idea and the level of polish! The game is pretty well done. Controls were a bit sensitive for my liking though. Most of the time I felt like even the smallest tap of the key would send me more than a tile away in that direction.

I also thought at first that the game was just looping the first level. Took me 2 or 3 times to realize that I had to break **all** the platforms before getting to the end. I **know** that it's in the game description, but I kinda missed it(because I didn't have any context of what it meant when i read it, and my mind had totally discarded that information by the time I got to play the game). Having that info in-game would have been nice.

Having said that, this is one of the most solid and well executed games I've played this LD. Well done!

kromeboy 2021-10-18 10:06

Took me a wile to get the hang of it. The landing position still confuses me. Maybe a white shadow could do the trick

npr0nn 2021-10-19 04:24

@kromeboy the arrow under the character shows where they will fall

rs11s21n 2021-10-20 00:32

Buatyfull entry, some little uncuftabl, i think tis is because cursor dose not how when i fall and because (for me) was a little hard to understand that i need destroy full level. Any way well created!
