Glad to hear it...thanks for the feedback!
A very fun game to play, the graphics added up to the overall vibe and I enjoyed the game thoroughly.
Thanks very much!
I liked it a lot! The Voice Over part was a nice touch. I had fun kicking everything away.
It would be nice, if you could kill the persons by kicking the obstacles against them.
Overall a very fun and charming game.
What a stunning game! Looks and sounds amazing and I loved the voiceover. One (potentially game breaking, so I think you are allowed to fix it) bug - I would occasionally get stuck kicking, and then unable to jump or kick again. Usually if I jump onto the first haybale and kick the next one.
I usually have a strict policy of not playing any non-web games, but another physics based horse game? Cant't resist!
I was looking for a physics mayhem, but you also gave me a narrative, cool! :sunglasses: But what I especially enjoyed was the proper horse KICK! Not even a tractor could resist my kick, let alone the poor farmer! A true horse-power fantasy.
Only issue I had with the game was not being able to jump on top of objects. That made the sea platforming quite dangerous. All in all, great job! :horse:
@lllarso @guntrip @joonamo Thanks for all the feedback everyone! We definitely wanted better/more interaction with the farmer and pirates (pirates didn't even end up doing anything because of time!). I do know there are a few bugs with the jumping - hopefully didn't ruin the experience! I also debated about being able to jump when on the objects like crates. It probably should be changed to allow that I think.
i like this
It was pretty fun being able to kick around all the different objects in the game. The narration also fits well. The only issue I noticed was that the front and back ocean waves didn't tile or connect smoothly, but that's a really minor thing.
Greetings from an entry with the same name as yours!
Took me a few tries to finally make it to the end, but I'm a free horse now! As a fellow un-stabled person, I love your work!
@svntax Thanks for the feedback! I did see the tiling issue as well...I need a proper tiling shader in my engine rather than the way I had to do that - hopefully by ld50!
@denhette We wanted the game to be a little difficult, at the risk of making it too annoying to keep trying. I'm happy to know someone got all the way through!
That was alot of fun great work.
Fun game! the graphics are nice and overall it makes up to be a neat experience. good work!
@parttimeindie @r3l0ad1 Thanks for checking it out! We're happy to see people using the "fun" word as some of our past attempts lacked a lot in that area!
Silly, daft, destructive and fun! I really enjoyed this entry and I definitely didn't expect the voiceover; it made me laugh and worked as a great tutorial! It's well polished and fits the theme very well. Makes me want to kick stuff
Congrats on a great entry! :)
@tom-stephenson Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh wow, this is a really fun one! I managed to beat it with 94 points. It controlled really well, and the graphics were great. Very polished entry. Thanks for a fun game
@cppchriscpp Thanks very much for the rating and comment! I look forward to checking out your game soon.
What the heck was that??? Amazing horse action. The voice over was perfect. So many games, I have something to say about them, but things like this just leave me speechless. I found the movement on kickable stuff a little glitchy, and the horse sliding on wobbly things kinda sucked, but that didn't detract from the pure horsexperience. Great job.
@nardandas Ha! Thanks for the kind words. Pretty sure the voice over was not perfect :) but thank you for feedback. And remember, horse hoofs are a little slippery when wet!
Amazing entry, our team was following your blog posts while we were working on our own game and Im so glad it turned out this great. Funny, on theme, and just a general delight. Kudos to your artist(s) the backgrounds are gorgeous. All in all a great entry and might be my favourite one from 49 <3
@chris-mcknight Thanks so much!
Gotta say, I deeply enjoyed this game. You all nailed so much of what makes games like these so fun! I loved the little VO tutorial that was great and perfectly timed as I was figuring out how to break out. Also I absolutely love that you included Wellerman ;) . My only complaint is that I wish there was more VO and more variation in it, to further increase replayability
@daniel-spruill Thanks for the feedback...really glad to hear it was fun! Agreed on your comments about the voiceovers. We actually threw that in during the last phase of the project on a whim, and it seems to be something people have liked.
this was a really original take on the theme, and like many other have already said adding a decent quality VO really makes the game stand out from them crowd. Gameplay vise I found it to be incredibly fair, unlike a lot of physics games it always felt like it was my fault if/when I died. having to turn around was also and interesting mechanic that I wish had been explored further as it's quite unique and I would have loved to see what more you could have done with it!
@simex Thank you for the feedback! I hadn't thought too much about the turning around to kick thing but you are right, it is sort of an interesting feature.
Well that was unexpected 😄
Nice game, played all the way through. I loved the narration and the fact that you could solve all your problems with a back kick.
Pixelart was good and the soundtrack worked well together with other parts of the game to complete the atmosphere.
The humor worked at least for me, laughed aloud in couple of parts :D
Great job!
@tomssuli Thanks for playing and commenting!
Fantastic game! I enjoyed how the tutorial was integrated into the gameplay and the game itself was super fun:) Very well done and props to all:D
@u4ia Thanks for playing and the feedback!
I liked the voice over. Would've been fun to be able to kick objects into the farmer. Great entry!
@tom-stephenson Thanks for playing! It was a little bit of a dilemma....at first the objects could be used to hit the farmer...the problem was that you could also just leave an object in his way, and since he collided with it, he would get stuck and never harass the player. Now that I think about it, maybe the solution was to only allow him to collide with the objects if they are in motion, or something like that. In any case, I limited the farmer collision in order to allow him to always get to the player. Lots of room for improvement!
last comment directed to the wrong person! @starrynitegames see last comment re farmer collision!
Loved the gameplay and artstyle! As well as voiceover
Nice to see game that has not been done using unity. :) However I wish there would have been browser compilation, it is always better when you dont need to download anything and web-games are highly prioritized as reviewing targets. I really liked the game and I became obsessed to finish it which I eventually did. I really liked the voice acting, it was great tutorial and made the game more fun. Also music was great too. You have great voice and great microphone, really soothing, almost worked as ASMR trigger for me! :D
@handserge Thank you!
@martta I hear you about a browser version....it is a trade off I make by using my own engine which is built on lwjgl. I looked into it but I don't see any reasonable way for me to compile to html5. I totally understand less people will end up playing our game because of this, so thanks goes to you and everyone else willing to download and unzip it! I love to hear that you finished it! And I'm so surprised people liked the voice over - we really threw it in on a whim at the last minute! May have to use that more in the future.
This is a god damn masterpiece, I love it. The pixel art graphics are very well done, the voice over is good, it feels fun and satisfying to kick stuff around, the music is fitting, all around an excellent entry. The only criticism I have is that the jump felt unreliable sometimes, especially when standing on top of objects. Otherwise I really enjoyed this game!!
@kypello thanks for the kind words! Some objects I don't allow jumping from, like the round or less square objects...but wasn't ever sure what really made sense. Not sure if that is what you saw or if there is a bug somewhere, but thanks for pointing it out.
It's pretty fun. It was very funny when a farmer got on his horse and they flew off into the sky
Thanks for playing! Pretty sure them flying into the sky was a bug, but glad you enjoyed it!
@valiantsugar forgot to tag in last comment
@funemaker Yes, I realize it was a bug, but it was very funny! ;)
I finally managed to finish the gameplays and uploaded the game session for this game. I hope you like it and that my comments can be understood as those most interested in enabling improvements to the project.
Thank you for requesting this gameplay!

@gustavo-christino Thanks for making that video! It is really cool to be able to see someone else playing our game...that is something I hadn't seen in the 3 ludum dares we have done. Definitely saw you experience a couple of bugs and issues with the graphics were a little more exaggerated on your computer than on my laptop. In any case, really cool that you take the time to do this!
:)
