Excellent job! Especially for your first game! Great art style, everything feels in place, great lighting with it as well. The knife is super satisfying to use! Loved that I could swing it or LITERALLY swing it with my mouse to break the leaves.
Oh God Love it so The best game I played today Maybe because the graphic is pretty good But can't take more than 10 minutes playing a game because I'll play every good games on this jam

Congratulations on finishing this! Definitely was fun to play through, the animations were clean and combat was satisfying! The enemies did seem like they were shooting in the wrong direction of me though but regardless it was still good! Great job man!
Got a bit stuck with the room with the two switches and three enemies, the boxes didn't seem to compress the switches when placed on them. Not sure if it's a bug or just something I was doing wrong.
Otherwise great game, easily my favorite art-syle I've seen so far.
Really loved the knife movements! I think pulling the boxes didn't work for me though, and I had to press E a lot to open the box.

Wow, what an achievement! Seriously -- that knife felt sweet. My only complaint is that it automatically opened in fullscreen. I prefer being in charge of that but the great art and mood more than made up for it :P

:heavy_check_mark: The lightning is sublime! I think it easily steals *spotlight* (pun intended) in the graphics department for this game. I'm so grateful you implemented a run mechanic, even if it comes with a stamina bar. More options to the player are always good :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: .
:x: One thing that I have to mention, is that having only sound effects and no soundtrack makes it feel... weird? Empty, eerie, barren even. Although on second thought, maybe this is intentional, given how you're supposed (I guess) to be deep underground  .
@geniye I got stuck for a bit in that room as well. What you have to do is place the box in one of the switches, and then stand by yourself on the other one. The gate takes a bit to open, so wait there for a few seconds and it should be done  .
Good job, the things I like to point out: * Really good job with the light and shadows * Well integrated tips * Smooth movement and controls
Issues: * Took me some time to figure out how to use knife * Triggers are not working sometimes
love the lighting, and the sword animation effects the most. The character drawing and animation is cute as hell too! The game is a good sandbox but lacking meaningful content. I'll bet you put a lot of work into this. congrats on a good entry. and best of luck in the jam!
The lighting/shadows make the simple graphics look pretty nice and atmospheric. The animations and particles are subtle but very effective. I struggled with the controls at first, but thats probably my fault. Would love to have some music. As your first game its a very good start, well done!
Love all your programmed animations ♥ squishing and using sin waves always are great juice. Were the sword swings completely programmed too? Amazing job 👍

Great game! Fun to play and very pleasing visually! Congrats!
Really pleasing to watch and play. It's also very Satisfying to look at. Congrats! You should be very proud!
Few things: – Conflicting controls. It was hard to maneuver the mouse while also moving the character around, especially because it'd take quite a bit of coordination, not to mention the Other buttons, especially in a game that is pretty linear and without any shifts in camera angle. You can smoothen it and simplify the mechanic, have One way of indicating direction, not two. That way the direction your facing is the direction you're moving/attacking. Either use the mouse to indicate the direction (with the left click giving the command to move, and right click the command to swing), or use the WASD to both move and direct the player, and simply have the attack come from the direction the character is facing. Personally, I would go with the first option, as it's cool to actually swing the weapon. So, moving the mouse affects the direction, and maybe have the left click allow movement, and the right click attack. I feel that would make the game so much more natural to play.
– Sound is a big element that often times gets overlooked, or considered lesser than visuals. The visuals are what first captures your player's attention, that's true, however ambience and sound is how you have them return to play, and truly immerse them into the game.
– The enemy audio queue was repeating itself too many times. Space out the loop, and maybe make different sounds to alternate between them.
– A slight pitch randomiser on all of the sounds can help make it sound more natural overall.
Thanks again for making this, I'd be very interested to see how something like this develops! Please check out our game and rate it as well, please!!
Peace!
A really fun little game, the fact that the enemies were not shooting at me, but in a random direction kind of made it feel like I was just murdering innocent cave people, and the murder sound kind of added to that. Either way I had fun and find what you did with the lights really impressive! Well done.
Hey, nice game and it have potential if you work on it. I like clean look of graphics.
This was really fun! The bobbing of the player as it walks is genius, I love it! The puzzles were really nice, I had fun on the last door. No issues to report with the Windows desktop build, it worked flawlessly.

I really liked the animation of the hero. I was sruprise when the first monster shot cause I was alone on a dungeon, with silence and hidden in a dark, with two red eyes, a black creature tried to shoot me. Lucky me I had a knife. Cool game and good job for this jam.
I liked the art! The game would also have been better with a little background music. Sound effects were kind of annoying though! Overall, fun experience!

Absolutly loving the light effect and the little guy is just smypahtic from the first second  Not really my prefered genre of games but had quite some fun with it, until I got murdered a few times.
Awesome job! Really enjoyed the shading and graphics in general, swinging the knife was very satisfying lol.

The lightning is really good
The game is really short. Lighting sets the atmosphere really well just needs a background music.

Nice Short Experience. WASD + F felt a bit strange at first but worked. Nice Tutorial bits. Good Lighting. Thanks :-)
could be improved:
* No BGM Music * Sound Effects are a bit harsh/sharp * No Health State? * Sword-State get's reset as you move to the next room * Buttonstate/Switch was not working all the time when I moved the box.

Very well put together, the movement animation is cute af :D
I really am happy for you to take on such LD as your first ever game jam. I hope you continue to develop more in the future and I liked the lighting effects!
