Wow, I found this "game" hightly pleasant to play. I notice that in my second play the "thumb" sound of the bar when it takes speed is lost.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD47 → Dynamo

I broke the bulb! Took me a few minutes to understand how to play it. Very innovative and on point with the theme! Great job.
I got the top score on your leaderboard by doing nothing but holding down right. Not exactly the most exciting game.
On the board at 119.3! Really cool that there's a leaderboard. Kind of fun to try to figure out "the trick" that really makes this go quickly.
Pretty cool concept, it took me a little while to figure out whether or not I should be letting the orbs into the lightbulb or try to block them. I would make this a little more clear with a tutorial/intro screen. Nice job though!
Very interesting. Love the concept but the controlls are a bit strange. You can hold the arrow keys and make it go really fast. Also you don't really have any controll of the bar after it starts going fast.
Great sound, and fun to figure out what to do. It started spinning a little too fast to control, but I had fun!
I really like this idea, and it really fits the theme well. As others have said, you can cheese the game by just holding the arrow. I found the controls a little hard to grasp at first as well. Overall though, it's very stylish, good work in such a short time!
Hypnotic .)
Thanks for comments all!
@albertofdzm Oops, fixed
@zachary-barbanell that was my oversight, I disabled the automatic key repeat, as that was obviously not the way it was meant to be played. Thanks for pointing that out! (also, I cleaned the leaderboards a bit. Sorry...)
@helekopeter The lost control was what I was kind of aiming for - just like you can control a fire until it becomes too big
Ah, I'll have to take another look at it. Thanks.
EDIT: Without keyrepeat the gameplay is pretty fun. I find it thematically interesting that no matter what you do you win eventually, but maybe I'm reading into it too much.
it wasn't clear if the goal was to stop the stuff from getting to the light or make sure the stuff gets to the light... I quickly just stopped pressing stuff and watched the game play itself.
I at first thought I was supposed to block the things and then I wasn't even sure. I enjoyed the sound effects and the end state.
it wasn't clear if you have to bounce or let the balls reach the bulb
Terrifyingly addictive to watch how light bulb slowly gets loaded. And when it does and dynamo goes wrrrrrrrrrrrrr, damn boy.
And yes, I was trying to defend it at the beginning. :D But only because it reminded me one, small mobile game called Gyro (it is not my game, I'm not advertising here, but it is cool!).
And about the code part - don't worry. I think that game jam is also about creating OBSCURE AND UNMAINTANABLE code. That is how it is, we're gonna fry in hell.
Silly, dumb, and surprisingly entertaining. Nice game, cheers!
This is a allround 5 start game!
Well polished, great and simple idea, engaging from the start and addictive in the end. A perfect LD game, thank you for it! :-)
Nice job! This is a good example of something simple that pays off really well!
Really simplistic and fun experience.
Really nice game and the audio adds tons with the hum slowly building! Loved it!!
It sticks to the theme, and it works well. Very simple game, which I seemed to cheese my way through by spamming one arrow key (after figuring out what to do). The vertical arrow keys were constantly scrolling my screen up and down, but maybe that's just the zoom level of my browser.
Nice little game for such a short time. At some point, I was afraid my computer might explode :D Well done
well done good game
Very clever :)
When I started out, I thought "well ok, I've seen these sorts of games before." I thought it was a nice twist the the platform was forever rotating at least, that gave a nice twist to execution where it was already a bit hard to gauge the velocity of the balls (just the nature of that kind of presentation).
What I didn't expect was the speed up, or the bulb getting brighter. I loved that the game just kinda evolves or time on all fronts including sound. You could really feel the sense of progression, almost like an incremental game.
Great job given the very short time frame, I'm impressed!
This looks really nice, and is very impressive for six hours work.
