The graphics are simply amazing. The lightning, the sprites everything is top notch. Sadly the physics feel reeeeaaally sluggish. Still, the presentation deserves credit.

I Love it!
Really nice lightning ! The shake cam is a bit disturbing when you jump though :)
I have to agree that graphics are amazing! Also I liked audio, I think it really fits your game. But physics and controlling character feels kinda awkard.
Wow! The game feels really polished, art style and audio is lovely and the atmosphere is also really cool! Increadible entry :D
Pretty cool game, the mood is really heavy :)
We fixed a ton of things. Check out the our patchnote :)
I'm a youtuber, your game is very nice! I want to make a video with the best games of LDJam46. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOdTsWE7iIk . Can I find your game also on indiexpo website? The channel is linked with them.
@torh, here we are: https://www.indiexpo.net/ru/games/prism-of-science
Great!
the style and sprites are wonderful, i like them very much
The graphics look very cool and I like the feeling of chomping on tiny people. But the platforming felt kinda awkward, so I couldn't finish the game
@lamossus. We try to correct that in the next patch!
This game looks incredible! Unfortunately I had a hard time with the control, since I always seem to slide off the platforms, but the presentation and sound are awesome. I would love to see a post LD version with tweaked controls
喜欢画面的色调和风格!只是对于我来说操作有些困难,一些看起来很简单的平台我需要尝试好几次才可以通过
@lamossus, @greendinogames, @cninja, @crawl try improved movement in the updated version!
@dubdisk The jumping has some nice weight now. I still have a tiny little nitpick... after landing there is a noticeable sliding going on. But yeah, it feels way better now, i will adjust my rating accordingly :)
@crawl, we're still trying to achieve ideal values for the best platforming-experience! Thanks for the feedback!
Could you provide a download to the original submission? I can only see the latest version dated 24/04 on gamejolt.
@almax Sure, here it is: https://yadi.sk/d/Jtq_UCbOLttxNQ
nice game, great sound, great art. it was really good fun!
That reminded me alien vs predator somehow. Musics sounded a bit high for me but the idea of using people to both get health and must to eliminate them makes it nice to play
@dubdisk Sorry, nothing happens when I click download on that link, I don't think the site serves my region - I get 404 when trying to view the file. You really should have the original submission on your gamejolt jam page so people can judge the game you made within the time limit as well as enjoy your fixed version.
@almax, we added the first version on [Gamejolt](https://gamejolt.com/games/prism_of_science/488640)
This game is really cool. The graphics set the mood really well, and it's very nicely polished. Really good work. I had lots of fun playing this.
@dubdisk Thanks!
I really like the art style, it has fantastic atmosphere. Starting music was good but the second track that triggers gets a bit repetitive, the SFX fit the visual style, but were too loud imo.
Not entirely a fan of the control changes, I almost prefer the original. Gravity only needed to be a little higher for the character, you want some level of float to the jump as it gives the player time to adjust in the air (see mario/super meatboy/etc). The main thing problem in the original was that you couldn't control the jump height, which you did fix in the new version! Though I would suggest modelling jump release as a gravity multiplier rather than zeroing velocity to avoid that abrupt feeling for shorter jumps.
The new version had a number of level changes, from platform sizes to enemy placement which made the game a fair bit easier. But in general the game was fun to navigate with a nice mixture of combat and platforming.
I also appreciated the increase in the health bar size, I didn't even notice it on my first play through haha. Though I think it would be easier to read if it had a "container" rather than sitting alone so you could reason about deltas better, as well as being left/right aligned instead of centred.
While the above are not "new" features, I do consider them "polish" changes that address non-breaking issues, so I won't consider them in my rating. I don't think changes should be allowed outside the time limit unless they fix problems that prevent people playing. Sorry for being a pain about that
The original submission was solid though, I had a lot of fun, and didn't encounter any bugs!
The graphics and animation is amazing, although it's a bit hard for me to move with my left hand using asd keys and spacebar, the edges are a bit too small so I slip a lot and have to do some jumping several times. Overall, nice game, can be developed!
I love the pixel art! The sound effects fit the game! Had a lot of fun playing this because of the level design! Greato Jobu!
Absolutely amazing visuals, I love spitting fire and eating those poor little guys is quite satisfiing ;) Although controls are a bit frustrating to me, sometimes it's hard to jump on a platform and don't fall. But the vibe of this game is really great. Impressive job guys!
@jiri-hysek, thanks for the review! We are still trying to approach the most comfortable movement. It really became a challenge for us and i'm sure we will properly bring all to mind soon!
@dubdisk I would reduce the momentum - when a player releases a button the creature should stop moving (in x axis) immediately. I believe with this small change it would be much easier to control.
I had a fun time playing this. Graphics, sound fx, and length were perfect. It was a little difficult jumping due to the monster moving off the platform but that is something that can be easily fixed. I had a great time and will be playing this game again.
Short but sweet! The graphics, mood, and audio choice was great and made the chomping action really satisfying to use. The only area I could really nitpick was the platforming segments. The horizontal movement felt a bit floaty, so it was hard to properly move how I wanted. This wasn't too bad for most the part until I reached the end area. Overall, really good job and I'm excited to see what you come up with in the post-jam version!
There's not a lot to say that hasn't already been said - fix the movement up a bit and it'd be perfect. The visuals are really nice, and the audio especially fits really well! Not a lot of games make the character landing feel as good as it does here, so definitely a big plus as far as game feel goes!
Really good entry though, wish there was more!
I really don't know what to say. Such an awesome game. It is a solid game! Keep continuing work on the game and it can go somewhere! Good Luck!!
That is a very atmospheric game! I enjoyed playing it!
Some critical feedback, tho:
1. Distance attach seems weak and not useful much
2. The health bar is not very visible - I've noticed only after I died 3-4 times. And overall, it feels like the game can be more lit without loosing much in atmosphere.
3. Some platforming segments were quite brutal 8bbaeb3f-5a80-45f5-99ef-eeaa53336a7d.jpg - this one, for example. (and, man, how dark it is there. I barely can read the screenshot)
Very hard to see what was going on, the foreground and background elements are too indistinguishable, couldn't always see what was killing me, however I did like the graphical style. No health indicator and no way of knowing what was and what wasn't killing me. Platforms are too small for the floaty jump arc, made movement feel very imprecise. The spit attack has poor range and couldn't be aimed up or down which made it pretty much useless for most of the game. I liked the lighting effects and the atmosphere and it's a unique take on the theme, though I'm not quite sure how it fits it.
Actually quite a fun game with very nice player feedback, I liked that most interactions have sound and explosion effects, that makes the game a lot more engaging and made me retry the level if I failed.
The enemies didn't have any health bar or indication if they were dead, I felt that sometimes the corpse was left and I couldn't eat it or something but it was a bit hard to notice since they didn't really stand out from the background.
Some more work on the movement would be nice to get a better feel of the game but that is something I have struggled with every single Ludum Dare. Different people have different preferences when it comes to sensitivity and floatyness etc.
Well done overall!
@linus, thanks for your feedback! Dead enemies just explode in particles. We still try our best in improvement of the movement.
