Nice game!
i like the concept of keeping fire alive, but perhaps would theme the levels a bit more with elements from the olympcs? overall well done!
Nice platformer. Only thing I noticed, the player does not get bigger if you leave the (burning?) log before it is removed. however, the log is still being removed if the player moves away. the controls feel nice!
@generictoast Thank you for playing. @vulgaris Thank you for playing and feedback. Glad that you like the Olympic Theme. @niels Thank you for playing and report of the bug. We will look into it.
hello, nice little game. I really like the last level with olympic theme map. Like the trampoline, I would have loved more of this. The 2 second level felt the hardest. And I liked the idea to have log on the water, leaving few seconds to the player to jump to the next log.
That is nice game, but moving is little odd
nice game!
Cute little platformer, I like the direction you took the theme. My biggest criticism is that the music starts from the beginning at every screen transition, which is a real shame since this track is a banger and fits the frantic "aight I gotta push forward to get to the next log" perfectly. The logs are another bad point imo, they are very finnicky to actually get the health boost from and would feel much better imo if you could grab them from the side. One last thing is that the screen transitions are very abrupt especially in the later city level, which also has some visibility issues with what is a wall and what is just the brick backdrop. Overall a very fun little game, the art is cute so is the premise, and having the track be in the main menu to listen to is great.
The tiles were all the same, id recommend making at least 2-3 types of tiles the game to look more beautiful, also sometimes the fire would just not eat the wood for some reason, and i think the music should not stop after you finish the level because they are short and fast and you just keep listening to this 1st part. But overall, hey its a nice and cute game that fits the theme! So good job! Keep it up guys!
Great game and idea! Very qute art! But back background is glitchy: I can see something through it… and it makes a little bit hard to have a long session.
Cool game! The visual are simple, but consistent, the background tune is really neat, and the controls are cool (there's a bit of sliding, but otherwise they are fine).
One thing that needs fixing though is that when the fire dies out, the level did not restart and the only thing I could do was restart the game from the beginning. This was not cool, and it made me stop on the first street level, without finishing the game
I would like to see more out of the concept, to make it feel more unique vs other platformers. I got to the brick level and ran out of time but did not restart the level, is that a bug?
What a fun game! This is a very interesting twist on classic plaform games. I loved the fact your ability to move would change depending on the flame's varying size. Music is very catchy and I love the jump sound. Very nice work.
Nice interpretation of the theme :D
Fun game, and nice graphics! Difficulty curve just right. The game is not that well polished though because the music restarts every level load, the game does not indicate how you died, and the game has no fade in or out making the game look really snappy. Good job over all just needs to be polished!
Wow that was challenging! The controls are very responsive and sometimes a bit unforgiving. At some point I opted to just try climbing the side of blocks to shortcut the jumping puzzles :D
I like the idea of trying to keep the flame alive with logs, but I feel like this game kind of just scraped the surface of the concept. Physics (specifically jump height) seemed a little random at times, but overall controls were tight. Some of the level transitions were jarring (notably before and after the rooftop sequence) and the levels were short enough that you probably shouldn't have restarted the music after each level/death.
Fun little game! Nice work!
The olympic flame have been lit!
The controls of this platformer feel pretty good. The first time I played I ran into a bug where my flame disappeared from shrinking, but never respawned, so I needed to restart
The soundtrack is pretty good, but it restarts every level, so you never get to hear much of it!
Good entry!
Cool idea! Reminds me of my very first Ludum Dare game where the theme was "running out of power" and I did something similar where you're a fireball who has to avoid the rain :)
The controls are pretty good, the graphics are pretty good and the music is pretty good. One thing I really don't understand though is why you went for that recharge mechanic. It took me maybe 10 plays to realize that you had to stay at the lumber for the entire duration to heal. This is unnecessary. You should either make the player immediately get bigger when he hits the log, or gradually get bigger whilst staying close to the log. The current implementation is unnecessarily harsh and doesn't contribute anything positive to the game.
Aside from that though, a solid entry.
Nice, the controls are snappy and feel pretty good. I noticed some gaps in the background tiles, I think that may happen when you place the tiles manually in Unity instead of using the tilemap system. I also was soft-locked once I got too small on level 2 and I had to restart the game to continue.
Well-done platformer with lots of levels and good mechanics. Specifically, I liked the leniency it had on the jumps and landings - like if the left quarter-circle of the fire were on the block you could still jump even if the very bottom of your character was below it. Time constraints made it interesting but not too difficult.
To improve, the biggest thing would be the last level. There's one indoor level that has very good and challenging platforming especially at high speed. Making the last level similarly good would make the end feel more rewarding. Second there were some surprising/confusing teleports when you got to a save point that didn't seem necessary.
Overall a good entry, the platforming level was very exciting.
the one track i heard was pritty catchy
Nice game, with progressing difficulty, at the beginning. Maybe you could have done less levels and taken more time on the last levels, but the idea was great and you realised it well. :purple_heart:
In the first level I got bigger when staying at the log, but in other levels it didn't work, so wasn't able to get bigger.
Was hard to judge which jumps I could actually make or not. Loved the little flame character.
