Cool game! Very cute little robot the aesthetic is on point! Maybe have the camera follow behind the robot so the moving left and right doesn't get confusing as the robot turns around
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD45 → Scrap Attack

Controls are nice and simple, look is solid, the pickup sound is pretty loud but other than that, solid game.
It's pretty fun and I love seeing the little robot go. I found the controls to be hard to get into but after a wile I was able to get used to it. I ended up playing the whole game in one corner, not sure if that was the intention. Over all good game. :)
the game lags like hell for me and I don't know why
but it is super fun
Controls are weird, I couldn't ever deposit the metal. Looks like a nice idea, and graphics are good.
Odd mix of lit and unlit assets. Nice robot model, though. I always like the look of a corner bevel on things.
It seems like the main strategy here is to camp at one deposit spot; perhaps a way to spice things up would be to provide some bonus for depositing sets. (I guess the unequal scrap sizing is perhaps another way to do that? Hmm.)
Fun little game, I love the robot animation and tank style movement, you even got the rocking back and forth when slowing / stopping. Great job
Fun!! I love the song, what program did you use? Bosca Ceoil?
Fun game, I think it would benefit a lot from something dynamic as it started to get monotonous after a while but overall good
@pavel-ivanov yes I did use Bosca Ceoil and the ceoil file is available in the github source stuff I just went ahead and dropped it in so if you clone\download the repository you can load it in Bosca Ceoil and see the exact setup. (Its just the file named leveltheme dot ceoil)
- love the character art. - It's annoying that the pieces of scrap just disappear, especially if you are going for one - Sometimes depositing into the bin doesn't work fun little game!
Nice idea! I think there might be more space for strategies if it was possible to stack scraps of the same kind. Nice job finishing the game!
Would be better with upgrades for speed (normal and turbo boosts), capacity and collect radius.
It took me a bit to get used to the controls but overall its pretty fun! The game does a good job at making you always do something with the pressure of your battery running out. Also I thought the robot was pretty cute reminds me of Wall-E.
Surprisingly challenging for its simplicity. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what needs to be done, but man, one wrong step can really screw you over. I found the best strategy was to camp at the sheets machine as most of the things that fell seem to be that particular kind of scrap, but then I accidentally picked up a gear, and forgot where the gear deposit was, and I couldn't drop it or exchange it with some other scrap. So I died. Whee~
Anyway, pretty nice game. Good job~
Solid entry! I liked your music and your sound effects :) I was a little confused at first as to what I was supposed to be doing so I think a brief tutorial screen or something at the beginning would have been nice. Good job!
look nice
Looks very nice, appreciate the sounds and music :). It might be more fun if you could pick up multiple scrap at a time, and when you deposit them it only deposit's the corresponding pieces, ooor maybe have the two points close to each other; I think that because it seems like the best strategy is to just stay close to one point and only pick up those types
I really like the design of the robot =D The music fits well with the game. It's a nice little game, good job !
Definitely a cute robot. Rather difficult, and the controls felt a bit weird, but it was fun!
Hey @theseusinabottle, great to see how Scrapy has come on since the first idea phase! Cool mechanic with the different 'scrappers'. I think this is definitely something you could build upon. The controls are quite difficult as A/D can both mean Left or Right depending on which way scrapy is facing. I'm thinking that's just part of the challenge though.
The music loop is great, sometimes short loops get repetetive, but I think you've done really well with this one that it just becomes background ambience. Nice metal SFX created too.
The design of the main character is perfect - as people have said - it's a very cute robot. I think everyone wants scrapy to survive. It's a bit sad when the fuel cell runs out! :robot:
The scrap on top looks like robot's head :D Overall good idea and nice game. Good job :)
Cute little game. Sound effects are nice "scrap-like".
Game could use drop mechanic. Maybe drop by pressing space after you have something picked up. Return box for the cog-part seems hidden at first. Maybe consider placing it on the same wall as the other two.
I feel robot's energy shouldn't be draining when robot is still. Or maybe the robot is using the energy for the idle animation? On the same note, the robot could use separate animation for moving and idling.
Somekind of indicator for the scrap dissappearing could go a long way. Now scrap on the ground just dissappears and there is no way to tell when.
Good job on completing a game Hope this feedback helps!
