Great sound design, music is amazing fit perfectly to the game ! Lot of humour in this entry ! Classic twin-stick shooter with procedural generation, map, shop, a lot of work! There are a few small bugs when you enter in a room you are in the ennemy (i think is because of procedural generation) otherwise great work !

Great Sound ! Fun game !

Beautifull game, very polished! I just think that it could take less hits to kill enemies. Anyway great job!

Great game, fits well to the theme, great artstyle and design. It has it all :D

Very "Binding Of Isaac" inspired, but a lot of fun and a good take on the theme! I did find the mouse aiming was overly sensitive however, which made the game difficult to play for me.

Catchy music, nice visuals, and solid level of polish on this game. However, it seems to have its problems with software mouse acceleration - aiming was terribly "jumpy". I would have wished for some more challenging enemy types and some occasionally scattered props.

Love the design with the currency-themed enemies. Really going all out on theme. I also had some issues aiming; the crosshairs didn't really seem to follow the mouse. Using a controller fixed that for me. The upgraded weapons were satisfying to use. Loved the soundtrack; it suited the action gameplay well. Lots of good stuff in this.

Salut !

Very nice entry! I saw a reference to the Binding of Isaac in a comment above, I would rather mention Enter the Gungeon. Not so easy to master with the keyboard for me though (more used to the controller with this type of games, just a matter of practice I guess). Special mention for the graphics, sounds and music, very polished! Minor bug: when I shoot close to a wall, even in the opposite direction, my bullets are stucked in it.

larnin 2019-05-16 18:26

@gaming-night Yes, isaac and Enter the gungeon were the 2 big references to create this game :) KKBB can be played with controler too, did it worked for you ?

@yopox Oui, difficile d'équilibrer un jeu sans avoir de progression au niveau des ennemis. J'ai un peu poussé la difficulté au début, tout en proposant de grosses upgrades qui facilitent rapidement le jeu. :)

I have done a small update that make the mouse a little less "random" ( @ectucker1 @gurkenlabs ...) and improved the collisions of the player with the walls.

Great visuals & sound! It really looks super slick! The controls were a bit fuzzy - the mouse seems to 'slide' whenever you move, making steady aiming really hard. Sometimes had the feeling the that hitboxes were a bit too tight, with bullets missing things. I am not that good at this kind of game, but did reasonably well. :)

Good job!

Nice game, really enjoyed it, awesome graphics, ui etc.! Not sure how or why the mouse sensitivity was extremely high, it made it a bit less enjoyable as it made it hard to aim, i would refrain from modifying the mouse sensitivity of a game or if so include a setting for it. Anyways, great job!

The cool pixel art caught my eye, so I played the jam version. It's a nice start! I've got a few critiques (assuming you haven't already addressed these in the post-jam version):

The title screen credits were a little off-screen on a 1440 x 900 resolution. The cursor should be hidden; having both it and the crosshair makes aiming a little confusing. The crosshair shouldn't be constricted to a small circle around the player. Let it follow the invisible crosshair, to make aiming easier. It'd be good if the dropped coins were a bit magnetized to the player, so you don't have to walk over each one. The enemies need some reaction when they're hit. Screen shake would make it punchier. I got so rich, so quickly, that there wasn't a threat of running out of coins.

Those suggestions aside, I like what you've got here! Nice work with the art and original music.

@ransom The post jam version have a lot more content, and fix a majority of your points. We were a little short of time for the jam, and we have continued the game after that. The game actualy support only 16/9 at 100%, others screen ratio can cut the sides of the screen. You must try the post jam version :) And thank for your feedback :)

duke 2019-05-16 22:47

Awesome! I only played the post jam version because it works directly in the browser. The art is amazing, very polished and professional. And this time, the gameplay does not dissapoint. You served one of my favorite genres and gameplay was really fun. The shooting felt nice and audio visual feedback made everything very crisp and satisfying. But one thing really threw me off: Please, do not move the crosshair around when using the mouse. This feels totally awkward, counterintuitive and weird to handle. It basically took almost all of the fun out of the game for me. This might work for controlles (did not try it though) but with mouse+keyboard, this control schema is not working for me. There's no need to reinvent the wheel and I really don't think that this was a deliberate design choice and more of a compromise. Maybe you intend to fix that issue in the future?

All in all, a very very good entry. Awesome art and music but with a major control scheme flaw (at least for me) Good job nontheless!

elemental-zeal-game-studios 2019-05-17 00:12

Absolutely awesome entry. Really fun across the board. The use of theme both mechanically, and thematically, was a nice touch. Great job :)

Really well done! Loved the visuals and the sound effects (the opening "Kill Kill Bank Bank" reminded me of an arcade game). I found the mouse aiming a little frustrating since it didn't quite follow the mouse. The minimap was great - knowing which rooms you've already visited was very helpful. Great job!

king-kujito 2019-05-17 10:39

This looks polished. I love the sound design, which is often overlooked!

mza 2019-05-17 15:56

Really good entry. Almost steam-worthy. It could be just noob me but I think the difficulty curve can be polished a bit.
