The intro is funny even if it is a bit slow (I think). I took me a little time to understand that each keyboard key corresponded to a line (I saw later that it was written ^^'). Maybe it would be interesting to navigate using just 2 keys because it feel a bit strange to jump so fast between left and right. Anyway, it was a fun experience ^^
Neat game! I had a little trouble getting used to the hit boxes, and had a few spots I thought I should have been hit (or thought I shouldn't have been hit!).
Graphics and audio are simple, but get the job done. I liked the little intro sequence, although it went on a little bit long.
My highest run was 10 coins :)
Very cool idea! Good job! :top:

Strange idea to do a runner for the theme but why not ^^. I liked the art the most I think.
Harder than I expected ! cool entry :)

First of all, congrats on finishing your first LD game!
A neat game you've made! I really like the intro music and the pixel art. It blends together really well. Nice touch on the intro sequence, it makes the game feel more complete!
The lanes you walk in are a bit close together, it is hard to see where you can and where you can't walk. So it would be nice if they were a bit more spread to left and right, or if the lanes were visible. It is also pretty hard to see what is coming, sometimes you're just trapped and you have no choice but to walk into a bench.
Overall a very nice game! Keep on jamming!

I love the hand drawn graphics. And the dry humor. He came there... well... to be a monk. They should have done it like german monks and brew beer to sell it. They made quite some coin with this :).
Hey man awesome job, especially for your first entry :)
I liked that you tied a story to the actions of the game, that already gives me a reason to like the world and characters! The graphics are decent, they convey what they need to convey! The audio is simple but im glad that you added it!
It's difficult to see whether you can get hit or not, so I died to some annoying situations at times.
But good job!
Enjoyed playing this. Very challenging to avoid some of the benches.

It took me some time to get that only the guys with the coins are the "good ones" and benches are bad :) All in all it a nice little game, enjoyable in a work break or as a quicky via web. liked the pixel styled graphics. reminds me of a Television Show were you had to control "Hugo" via Telephone. Fun times.

The graphics are cool. The game idea is fine, although it doesn't play nice and tight. Maybe work on the speed of movement, as well as object placement. It seems to lack flow.
Also, I don't really see how it merges with the theme.

Controls were slightly difficult to get used to :D Somehow this reminded me of McPixel
Good game for your first entry, I liked the story at the beginning and the audio and graphics suit the game well. I would say however that you should make the movement more fluid to make it more enjoyable, and also I don't see how it ties into the theme that well. Good job though and good luck!

Just like literally everyone else, I will add on to the endless wave of "Controls are unintuitive." 'Cause they aren't. Good work tho.

Pretty nice for a runner! It's hard to avoid everything that runs into you, espacially the benches, which spawn very quickly one after another. The controls were quite akward to use at first, I was used to the simple A and D keys to move gradually the character instead of snapping it to a fixed position like you did in your game. But hey, you made a functional game and it's funny, so goob job!
Interesting take on the theme! It's great to see some less-obvious genres when it comes to game jam games.
I like to go into games blind (not reading description or comments) to see how well they "talk" to the user. It was easy to understand which buttons to press since you show them at the beginning of the level. That was a nice touch! However, since I went in blind I also didn't realize that I should only collide with people who had coins above their heads. I believe this problem would have been fixed by guaranteeing the first object that shows up on the level is someone with a coin, so a new player can see the contrast between donors and non-donors immediately.
Hahaha, great premise. :) I liked the little intro cutscene at the beginning. For some reason, this reminded me a lot of "Peasant's Quest" on Homestar Runner, quite nostalgic!
I do think the lanes could be a bit more clearly defined, though. I think what made it difficult to tell where my monk was going to go can be attributed to the fact that the obstacles could be spawned in a continuous fashion across the whole horizontal field (thus they would often cut into multiple lanes). Because the monk only had a discrete selection of areas to move to, it made it difficult to judge what button I should press to avoid an obstacle or reach a donor.
Other than that, though, this type of game is pretty classic so it's tough to get upset about. :) Nice job giving it your own charm!
