Cool and very interesting game !!!
Definitely a standout among the games I've tried so far. I really dig the graphics and overall idea, and would love to see a version of this after some more dev time!
Thank you @paulstraw ! If you are looking for a complete game with similar spirit then take a look at the game called Into the Breach on Steam. I can't recommend it enough! My game was heavily influenced by some of the mechanics of Into the Breach.
They're miniature Through the Breach puzzles! A good fit for the theme.
Loved it! great idea and well executed. I got this bug though where the enemy could shoot diagonally? Easy fix I hope!
I saw the inspiration from Into the Breach immediately. Could be really interesting, but I didn't give it enough time to figure if it was possible to win each time. Looked pretty random/impossible when I got to stage 2. Pretty strong concept though, keep working on the logic and it just might be a hit. Also quite feasible for mobile.
Love these more puzzle type of games. Graphics look really good. Great use of the Theme
@htmichael Thanks for playing! Enemies can shoot diagonally, that is not a bug. Working as intended :copyright:
I like the art style of the game a lot. You definitely channeled Into the Breach in a cool way. I had a little bit of trouble understanding the rules of the game (from the help menu) until I read the rules on this LD page.
Nice work though! Great compo game!
Very fun and complex game! Definitely nails down the theme, especially when you have shot up half the board trying to get to a ranged enemy and now you don't know how you'll reach him!
I saw the influence of Into the Breach immediately and think this would make a perfect '-lite' version of that game, more suitable to quick play sessions.
Very nice!
@lars-erik Thanks! Sadly I wasn't able to make the game fully deterministic like Into the Breach. Rush type enemy is predictable. Ranged type enemy is very random. Stages themselves are random(ish). All in all, you are expected to lose and reset the levels
Creative idea and completely fit in theme!Good job!
Cool, I had fun playing this, but think that the board size grew too fast. The current systems allow for more intricate/interesting play on smaller sizes. The bigger boards basically negated the cost of the move because of the availability of options, apart from the balance issue it's a solid little attempt.
Nice idea for a game! Fun to play, quite well executed! :D
I'm normally not a fan of strategy games, but this one was quite enjoyable! The mechanics were easy to understand but there's definitely a good amount of challenge.
Its a nice idea but the random falling plattforms at the beginning made some runs impossible
@jk-studio Yeah, I probably made it a little bit too random at times. That is part of the reason why you can restart the level as much as needed without any penalties
@blight-radiance Yes I used this very often but overall it was nice and challenging game so if you want to develope this game further make this less random maybe just have a certain number of falling plattforms and then only the plattforms are random
Legitimately good. I liked the depth of the mechanics, and you really executed the idea wonderfully. I did get confused about what was going on in the ranged levels (more feedback there would be nice), and agree that you too quickly expanded the board as the small levels were the most compelling. Still, totally something I'd play more of. Fantastic work.
This looks and plays pretty well! I think this could be the prototype for a bigger game that just builds on these mechanics. I did find that jumping was pretty much the best thing to do in most situations, and when I discovered that jumping pushes as well, I almost never fired. The field got a bit hard to see in the later levels.
The first though I had was it look kinda like the game Into The Breach but after playing it, the games has some similar mechanics but this game is more a pure puzzle game.
It was fun trying to push the enemies of the map but I must admit that I was a bit confused of something that happened so I think that some feedback would be nice like seeing a animation where you and the enemies are shooting.
Overall this was a fun little game.
@rumor, @incobalt, @sh1rogane Thanks for the feedback! I wish I had more time to implement proper animations and make the mechanics much more transparent to the player. The truth is that the idea for the game was a little bit too big, so I had to cut the budget on some important aspects including UX, music, sounds and many many more. I will try to manage my time better in future projects
Interesting take on the theme. I was expecting some sort of Into the Breach, given the initial images. I think you could have limited the size of the board while playing more with the different mechanics, although it was in the bigger scenarios when I fully realized the complete range of the jump, that seemed random to me at first.
Level design could be polished, but I like your approach on the theme.
nice use of the theme, played well and the graphics were also nice. Sometimes it was a little too random, but its hard to nail that sort of thing down in 48h! :)
Nice game and a good take on the theme. The start of the levels seemed a bit to random at start, but overal quite liked it.
Keep it up.
Cool idea! It does start like a puzzle game but the range enemies seem pretty random. If they're not predictable the puzzliness suffers :)
And, awww, no Kaboom! sounds.
It reminded me a little bit of Into the Breach. Nice graphics and floor effects. It's a shame that there was no sound that would have created a bit more atmosphere to the game. EDIT: Forgot to ask, did you make everything yourself?
@moorhuhn Yep, made everything myself. This time around I used: - PixiJS to make the game playable in browsers - GitHub Pages for hosting the game - Krita for art creation - DragonBones for idle animation - Some libs (pixi-layers, pixi-sound, pathfinding lib, dragonBones integration lib)
