Link seems broken? :(
Game can't be found!
@taimidori Your links to the game lead to the itch.io 404 page. I would guess that you didnt make the itch.io page public, because I did the same thing when I put my game up.
Same as everyone else, hope you get the link working so we can play.
Thanks I fixed it
Good sounds and choice of colors. The pixel art for the player is simple but effective, it's too bad it didnt rotate when you move right :(
I was able to run the game. It is a good attempt, but what would have made it more on theme is if there were more guys showing up over time ... truly running out of space and some kind of score, something as simple as number of seconds to survive. Good attempt. Good music too.
The game is simple, quick, and the controls feel nice. Good job.
Nice! Intuitive / good controls, I like the sounds. Agreed that the ramp-up could be better over time to add more of a sense of enclosing off the space -- and maybe more kinds of enemies or environmental changes (walls and stuff?). Good job for your first jam. :D
Congrats on your first jam. And congrats on the game. Fun to play, simple but effective graphics, music sets the mood. The "visibility loss" mechanic is a clever interpretation of the theme. Great job all round. Lastly... Bats, argh!
Thanks you everyone for the great feedback! I had planned tonnes of enemies and even programmed a few but they were too broken to implement. I barley managed to add the game over and main menu. If I try doing this again I will defiantly dedicate some more time to adding polish to my game. I'm surprised you liked the music, I was running out of time so I had to make it simple. I guess that gave it an eerie feeling.
@tontonpizza NoOoOo. I did have the player rotate. Now that I see it, it looks so weird:P
@wavertron Uhh... yes bats. >Quickly renames flies to bats<
Hahahahaha, you got my game's name first, mine's under ludum-dare/42/claustro-1, but how different they are! Always nice to hear your not the only one who's new to this. I liked the visuals, although I found the smooth/pixel hybrid didn't quite fit. The take on the theme is very original, although I'm not sure whether it's 'running out' as you still have the same space, just not visible. All in all, good effort, keep on!
This is really nice, the mechanics were simple and intuitive, the character art is nice and there was some strategy to where you killed enemies in the long run.
Fun game! It's very simple and I enjoyed the concept! Would have loved a high score system or something similar so I could compare different runs!
Had a bit of trouble moving around properly but it was a cute game
nice game and nice audio :)))
Super cool game! I loved the art style, character walking animation was quite funny and well made. Game concept is very innovative and was executed very well. I liked how the enemies were black to make it so that you can't see them in the dark. Great work, keep it up! :)
Ok game, to easy to die, not a good objective
I love the art and how that little guy stomps around! I thought it was interesting how it got a bit harder the more enemies you killed, cause that made it harder to see the other enemies over the black holes, really kept me on my toes! Nice work!
Nice game, had fun on it ;=)
Need concept and I like the sound effects! That's how I would do them if I was doing a Compo. It appears that sometimes I would hit an invisible wall and gravity would turn on and I would drop into nothingness. Overall, neat game
At first I thought destroying enemies caused holes in the floor which would be a more straight forward take on the theme but having it obscure and hide the enemies is actually pretty interesting and a bit different. Looks and sounds nice!
Yeah man, the music along with the black on purple colors and alien looking sprites really gave the game a great eerie mood. Liked it a lot. For some reason my first thought was that this was taking place through a microscope lens, but that can't be right (simple abstract games tend to make tiny brain work overtime on unnecessary details).
Anyway I also liked the idle short squat animation of the character and how most of the sprites looked and animated in general. Nicely done.
