A nice retro style game! Audio is very good in my opinion and the game works well. Only thing that stands out to me is that the player keeps running in air. But it isn't a big deal though. Well done!

nice concept!!
I like the concept but it's dificult make anything, good work
Game is definitely fun and well made. However, I had some issues figuring out what is happening. There is too much information on the screen. And even though the art is great, some items are hard to recognize on the go.
The theme and concept are very good though. I personally would have gone some other route - maybe there could be two parts in the game, running and night. During day you run, gathering resources and trying to survive. During night you can freely craft stuff and get ready for the next day of running. But your idea is great too, I just think it requires too much attention and multitasking to my liking.
Thanks for the game, it was fun!
This is a really good game. My only complaint would be that some of the icons in the UI don't really make it immediately apparent as to what they do.
Amazing ! Loved it. The two-handed control pattern is great, the various feedback/highlights on the ressources are neat. A bit more clarity on the craftable items may be a plus, but everything works well and is really replayable.
Congratulations !
Nice fun little game; the crafting system is very confusing at first. It contains a surprising amount of complexity, but more instructions would be nice. Enjoyable.
I'm always happy to see pico-8 submissions! Nice combincation of genres, great art and good execution.
Great game and i think you did a great job with the theme. My only, and big issue with the game is that the pixel art (combined with the movement pace) makes it very hard to understand the crafting. Without a tutorial / explanation about items it is pretty much impossible to tell what items you are picking up / hard to see what you will be crafting.
loved the concept and the idea. the crafting system is a bit confusing but after 2 runs you get it Good work!
Very nice game, well done for merging game genres. :D I need to download the to my chip :D
The retro art and music match perfectly and are both really nice, and its a great idea for a genre mashup. I also found the crafting system a little bit confusing as a lot of people seem to have, but got the hang of it after a while. Once I understood the crafting interface I started to realise that there was way more depth to the game than I realised, and I ended up playing it for quite a while, great job!
I enjoyed playing this game even though I was dying all the time. If only there was a tutorial for the crafting menu.
Neat retro game. I was a little confused by the crafting system but still good job.
Nice game, although you may want to work on making it less clutered, for example, make items more defined in the game, for example with some outline, and try to explain the crafting a little better.
Great concept. Crafting system took some time getting used to, especially since you always need to do it while running, but once I got the hang of it, it was super interesting
I think maybe some small arrows over used/needed/obtained materials might be more visible while sprinting than just flashing? Also the text prompts could stand to stay onscreen longer (since you're always distracted)
Love to see a Pico-8 game. Your run sprites are great, and you also did a really good job with the animals telegraphing when they're about to attack. Also a big fan of the high concept. Good job, solid execution.
Love the music and graphics although I find it a little confusing with too much stuff going on.
Other than that solid entry!
At first it was hard to see what the icons mean, but then I got it pretty fast. The game feels really polished and plays good. Nice work. :)
Second time I played this. The first time I didn't get very far but now I took some time to understand the crafting and everything. Once it's understood it's really nice and I was definitively hooked. I think the icons are indeed a bit unclear with this graphic. It is alright but I guess it would be easier/nicer if they were easy to understand. The music was first really nice but then got on my nerves. Nice entry and I had fun playing it!
Best music in the compo, even catchier than all the music rythm games! Nice graphics and intense gameplay made the game good, the death animation made it great. Good work!
A very polished experience, that's clear right from the start! And once I started playing, I realized that there's a lot of complexity to what appears to be just a simple runner game; especially for a PICO-8 game!
So the presentation was gorgeous and polished, maybe the screen was a bit busy with all the displays and notifications. What overwhelmed me, in the end, was the crafting. Without any guidance, I didn't manage to figure out what torches or arrows did, only that I needed to craft some food to fill up my hearts.
So considering how much I was occupied with jumping and gathering stuff, traversing the crafting menus with their sub-menus overwhelmed me a bit and I resorted to just randomly hitting the arrow keys, hoping for a boost ;)
I know how tight time is in a jam, but the game would benefit from some tutorial that gradually introduces new crafting recipes and their effects. Or at the very least, please spell it out somewhere, because I feel that my understanding of the mechanics is only skin-deep.
So overall: Exquisite little game with a lovely soundtrack.
