You have really interpreted the theme nicely
A really clever use of the theme, and the asteroids-style mechanics were very fun.
Nice concept, fun to play, my biggest issue would be that the play area is too small - that combined with the room wrapping meant I'd often be flying all over the place trying to slow down.
This was a lot of fun! I really like the upgrade system. The controls screen was a bit confusing, but I figured it out pretty quickly. I discovered that if you upgrade all of the stats and sit still, holding down Z, you can go pretty far. Great job!
I like the way you have tied the theme into the game mechanics, buffing yourself results in a more challenging experience. The music is good. User feedback could use a bit of work (there was no indication, other than health decreasing, that I was being hurt by the pink ships) it would have been nice to have a sound effect and maybe a bit of screen shake. A nice game!
Great job! Really neat interpretation of the theme. If I had to change something I would change the size of the map, it should be much bigger
LOL those distress alarms were hilarious. Fun to play. Somewhat confusing when enemies appear at the top but don't wrap around at the bottom. Nice use of the theme.
Hi, tried to play it but it said: An error occurred running the Unity content on this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was: SyntaxError: illegal character
Tested it in Firefox 56.0.1 (Quantum) 64-bit
Nice Game! I had a hard time figuring out which keys are doing what actions. Maybe you can add this to the itch.io description!
simple and clean game
Small suggestion: those laser beams could be a little bigger (or thicker, actually), now they easily disappear in the background. Otherwise, nice, simple game.
Real nice use of the theme! I loved the different distress alarm choices! Real nice use of audio and great graphics! I did make the mistake of wanting to play on HTML5 with WASD though, with Ctrl+W closing the tab and Ctrl+D making a bookmark :D
Really great. It is impressive that even the story makes a sense. Good job.
I managed to clear the level with maximum threat. The secret? Spin out of control and spam all weapons :)
Just what a space shooter needs
Really happy that you took the time to have an actual story in there. The graphics could have used a bit more work but that was enough. It was a quite enjoyable experience over all :3
Simple but well made little game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUur4iynK94
I agree that the lasers could be larger and have perhaps more impact effects.
Nice entry! It was fairly simple, but a nice take on combining asteroids with the theme.
I did have a few issues though: - The first wave with the asteroids felt far too long for a tutorial level - I agree with the comments that the lasers could be a bit more visually distinct, and that having more feedback when getting shot would be helpful - It'd be nice if the threat controlled a larger range of difficulty; even with maxed out threat, it was relatively easy to win by just putting your ship into a slow horizontal slide at the bottom of the screen and constantly shooting up.
I stopped playing after wave 3; I'm not sure if there was more progression after that point, but given that there was zero indication of anything having changed between 2 to 3 and 3 to 4, I assumed it just repeats the same level. If that's true, a good way to make people play a bit longer and experience the game at a few different difficulty levels would be to make the different weapon levels unlockable, rather than giving free access to everything right off the bat.
Nice game! I think I got to wave 5. The projectiles were a little hard to see and to hit with so the spread laser was appreciated :) Seems the strategy that worked best was just zooming super fast horizontally and spamming laser and missiles, hoping not to get hit. Most often it worked really well
Awesome that you managed to cram a cutscene with dialogue in there aswell!
Well done!
