@swrni - I LOVE this game! I think it's fantastic. Such a simple idea but it's executed brilliantly. The fact that you spawn the pick-ups near the edge of the play area where it's most dangerous. The teleportation, the power-ups, the countdown, it's absolutely brilliant!

I really wanted to beat your high score but I didn't manage it! After many attempts, the best I could do was: Image1.jpg Once again, I think this is fantastic and I hope more people will play it and rate it like I have! Congratulations!

Excellent game! Overall: The game was well executed and smooth, ran with no problems on my Windows 10 x64 PC. Fun: The game was relaxing and enjoyable to play, it wasn't too difficult and the single mechanic was very easy to pick up and almost instinctive to use. Innovation: The whole gameplay flow was something that I hadn't seen many times before, so good job on that. Theme: I rate the theme on the originality of the interpretation, and its adherence to the theme. I must confess, although it was certainly unique, I couldn't see how it applied to 'A Small World,' other than playing in a small playing field. Graphics: The graphical style was well implemented and simple. The colors were excellently chosen and non-intrusive, and even the font was easy to read against the soft background. Audio: The music was non-intrusive, which is especially important in reaction-based and puzzle games. The sound were well chosen and complemented the graphical style. Overall, good job!

A super simple and really fun little game. Both the music and graphics fits this kind of game super well. And welcome to LD, hope to see you and your games in another LD.

this game garnished a solid 3 in all regards, but now that i see compo ... i feel like a judgmental a-hole. still, i wish i could come up with an idea this simple and well executed in such short time. so thanks for teaching me the value of not being quick to judgment. and commendations on such a sweet compo entry. Well jammed sir/madame , well jammed , (slow clap)

Oh yes this is very cool and addictive game. Even if it's simple, everything (sound, graphics, animations) is smooth and well thought.

I really liked this game. it's simple and effective. there's nothing I can think of in a way of improving other than add some stuff, and you're perhaps good to go  my highest was 200

Simplicity can be a virtue, and this game shows how good it can be when no aspect of the project is overscoped!

With so little to critique, the only thing I'd bring up is that restarting the game doesn't clear the stage from the last round. So if you restart too quick after a particularly hectic game, you can get squashed by a giant polaroid immediately.

Congratulations on such a superbly simple game!

Awesome game. Had so much fun with it! Maybe an indicator for where the blocks are coming would be neat.

Really good design on this game. It feels very polished, even though it's really simple. I like the basic mechanic and you did a good job of adding useful powerups that made it feel like you improve as the game increases in difficulty. Good work!

This was really cool, and I loved it. It was simple and understated, yet it avoided being boring. The audio followed this, being repetitive, yet still maintaining interest, and the graphics were minimal, yet the colour pallet and design fitted the atmosphere fantastically. I only really have one minor complaint, and that would be to add a warning as to where blocks may be flying from, as I got surprised on occasian by some flying out of nowhere. But despite that this was still fantastic, well done.

Highest score: 150 (I'm not sure if it is possible to get much more points) The Graphics are very simple, as well as the sounds and the gameplay mechanics, so your game looks very finished. I think this game would be better as a mobile phone game, because it's a game you can play when you only have some minutes time. Overall, you did a good job!

This might be the most fun I had with a game this ludum dare!

This is my high score: a.png

I really love the minimalistic artstyle combined with the super simple but skillful gameplay. This probably isnt the last time I am going to play it :). I also agree that quill is an awesome inspiration. I did my first Ludum Dare because him too - now more then a year ago. Ludum Dare is awesome :)!

The graphics and audio go pretty well with each other and set the right mood pretty well

toonteamj 2017-05-18 01:42

I liked it. The music set the mood well and the blinking mechanism was an excellent development choice.

This is the best sort of game for a Ludum Dare. It's so simple but so polished. The movement feels perfect, the graphics are exactly what they need to be for a game like this. The sounds are spot on. Really, this have everything going for it.

I am trying to think of anything negative to say, but all I got is that you could maybe add some particles or something for when you get the pickups and when you get hit, just to juice it up a little more, but even that isn't really necessary.

I am going to bookmark this game for when I need to tell people about coming up with a simple game and executing it well.

Super great job.

You really need to get out and rate some games so you can get more ratings. This game really needs to get seen by more people.
