Great work! Good all around, my only two comments are that it wasn't clear why I died at the end (I wasn't low on health, so perhaps there was something on the planet I had to protect?); and occasionally I saw my planet shake, but it wasn't obvious which particular enemy was responsible for that.

This was really fun! I especially liked the idea of having a leaderboard, it made it more exciting to keep playing. I'm OG Simpson, #32.... eh. Could be better. You can tell the controls are designed for controller but it works fine. It was soooo satisfying to kill things with my lasers!!!! Also all the stuff happening on the flat planet was super cute!

Wow, this was a great game! Definitely one of the funner games I've played the whole LD.
Still thought, it was interesting to pick up at first. I didn't know how to get anything from the asteroids no matter what I did, so for my first several turns I had no Enerjumpz
Then I found out how to play.
The gameplay was honestly, very very good. It felt really solid especially considering the time given. And boy, did I play this game for a while. After a few tries of just running around dodging enemies, I found out how to play.
I got a score of almost 100,000 I think, with a Regal size planet.
The only problems I noticed was that if you put your name as a name already existing on the scoreboard, you never got to have your score appear, because it just showed the previous owner.
Also, when there were a lot of lasers, enemy and friendly, it was a bit laggy but not that bad.
Other than that, this was an amazing solid entry. If you could add some upgrades and such, that would be amazing!
And also, have people, little saplings, and water grow on the planet as it grew was a nice touch.
Love it! It was just really satisfying to play in a rather simple way. Watching the planet grow was really neat, although I had some rather severe performance issues after a while, so it might have grown a bit too much :P
I also thought it was a unique and clever use of the theme, and bonus points for using the theme mechanically, as well as aesthetically!
This is a really solid game so far! I love how you can grow your planet and get different types of friends helping you. The laser is cool, and collecting stuff is satisfying. I always have fun playing until around the time I reach "Regal" size, at which point there are these massive clumps of enemies. I think the most glaring issue is the camera, which lags behind your ship all the time. If I were to take this game further, I would work on that camera right away. I always die super fast to enemies I couldn't see. They fly in from whatever direction and fire all their bullets right on top of my hitbox. It's possible to get hit enough that you die instantly in this game.

Holy moly, great job man! This is a great showing! Really polished for a compo entry. Controls feel great, the style is spot on, and I love the humour in the text throughout.
It gets really hectic once I reached "Regal" size - but that's perfect for the retro arcade here.
One of my favourites from this Ludum Dare, for sure!
The OSX download page gives me an HTTP 403, though the other pages seem to work fine.
@stuntddude oh crap, thanks for the heads up.

I mean.... this game is acceptable for someone who had to develop it without caramels for 48 hours due to an international salted caramel shipping date conspiracy.

Really good game! I loved the weapon, the look/feel of the workers, and the interpretation of the theme. I thought the enerjum transfer rate could have been a little bit higher. I also thought it was too easy, but then I died very suddenly from a huge amount of enemies, the likes of which I hadn't seen prior. Felt like a bit of a quick difficulty ramp - I don't think I had even taken a single hit before the insta-kill!
Those couple criticisms aside, really great work!

Wow, very chaotic, so much was going on! Also very nice that there are global highscores :)
Awesome game! Keyboard controls were a bit strange, but the game is so damn fun it doesn't even matter! Love the world building mechanic, and the variety of enemies, and everything! Good job!

Really nice game, I enjoyed it!
I do like the art style, it's nicely polished, the online scoreboard is a great plus in my opinion (thanks for telling what you used for that, I'll have a look at it and might use it for the next one :) ).
If you wanna push this game a bit further, I think it could be nice to be able to customize your ship during the game, like you could spend the energy balls you collect into improving a weapon or the ship, and you'd have to decide to either spent them into improving your planet or your ship, I think that would be some interesting choices.
Congrats for doing that! :D
The OSX download link is still (or again) throwing 403.
@antti-haavikko @stuntddude I changed the OSX link to just point to the itch.io page for now, sorry for the inconvenience.

This is a really great game, very polished aesthetically. The game as a whole felt cohesive - growing the planet meant one could regenerate health faster, more things that shoot the enemy and build the planet etc. I think one way to improve on this might be to make the health more visually apparent, as it's not very easy to look down to see the number while dodging the bullets. Other than that, really great job on this game. Congratulations!
Was very much worth the wait! At the least one of the best overall experiences of all the LD38 games I've played so far. Very nice polish, especially for a compo game.
Only very nitpicky stuff to critique about:
- Make it easier to differentiate between friendly and enemy bullets. Maybe decrease the contrast of friendly ones to make enemy ones stand out more or something like that. - A bit smaller player hitbox would make it "seem" more fair. Or maybe a bit of a invincibility grace period after getting hit. - Music would definitely smooth out the bit monotonous sound effects. But as a completely musically talentless solo dev, I'm on a same boat.
Damn, great game!
Core gameplay is satisfying and it felt very dynamic how the planet grew organically and the little workers felt 'alive'. I really liked the hands-off approach to building the planet where you can concentrate on shooting enemies and asteroids. The graphics are simple but really nice, they work well with the sound effects.
Maybe a mini-map would be cool, at least of the main planet - it's a bit hard to know where the planet is attacked once it grows a bit bigger.
Some music would be awesome.
Hey everyone in this threaaaaaaaaaaaaad: Play this game right meow, twinstick glory awaits you!

I really liked this game but the gamepad support didn't work for me on linux, but this might be a problem with unity rather than with your game, as I haven't had it work with any unity game that I can remember so far. There was an impressive amount of content for a jam game here. I really liked the AI minions that your planet spawned. Even though there was quite a lot going on, it was nice that it was all automated and I could just focus on flying around shooting things.

This was fun! It took me three lives to figure out the rhythm, but once I did it played really well. The movement hit that sweet spot between too slippery and too stiff, and the balance was really solid. I did great - growing rapidly, defending my little creatures, harvesting asteroids - when we got attacked, and my planet did not survive. Definitely worth playing through again multiple times, though, looking for that high score.

Very nice game! I like the feeling of the ray gun and the differents sound effect (both coherent and not annoying which is rare). Both our game have a similar pitch but a different implementation and your's has a lot of really good stuff like the workers, the planet attack etc. Really nice job!
Super fun. Combines all the parts of RTS and twin-stick shooter that I like and makes it into a cohesive whole. Had a couple goes at a high score too which is rare for a jam game. Good job!
Wow! That's an extremely polished and fun game bursting with a lot of stuff, all that done for the Compo as well! Good job.
Loved the mechanic, very simple but made so much better from the stuff that spawns once you start powering your planet poles (I'm not sure what they're called hehe). A Variety of enemies, but also a variety of creatures that get spawned as your planet increases in size.
It was a lot of fun which is the main thing.
Loved the visuals and the sound effects were very satisfying.
Good job!
Oh this is fantastic! So polished! The way your planet kept creating more critters all with different behaviours of their own, and all the different aliens, and the way your harvester homed in on all the targets, and the sound effects, gods, i love those sound effects, not sure what it is about them but they're super satisfying. Really impressive work!
Proper review: I kind of wish I could fly just barely faster than enemy bullets, instead of just barely slower. That's my only complaint. It was easy to get started and figure out what was going on even without instructions, because the all the important interactions in the game are illustrated visually. Once I did get started, it was a ton of fun and felt great to play on a gamepad.
This game was very fun! I found the controls very nice on a gamepad and it was clear what I had to do from the start. I enjoyed the sound and visuals and I loved the leaderboard feature, although I didn't place high at all.
This game has a lot of replay-ability and is very well made. Good job!

Great game! Killing enemies felt very satisfying and the overall gameplay mechanic was quite well done! If I were to give this game some things to improve upon I would add music, and maybe make different types of enemies appear more at the start of the game. Good job! :)
