Hello,
I made this... I used Unity version 5. The art was done using an app called Artflow and Gimp. Music and sound effects recording using Audacity (and my keyboard). This is my 2nd time doing the LD Compo.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD37 → Not Enough Meatballs

Hello,
I made this... I used Unity version 5. The art was done using an app called Artflow and Gimp. Music and sound effects recording using Audacity (and my keyboard). This is my 2nd time doing the LD Compo.
Cool graphics. Love old school browser-based FPS games. Some performance and sound issues though.
what issues did you see?
The Ludum dare site is being weird. If you aren't seeing the game start up go to the weblink and play it on itch. I also uploaded it onto Gamejolt.
yeah it looks like the Ludum Dare page is having a problem with linking to the playable webbuild via itch. Go here to play the game: https://tartlegames.itch.io/not-enough-meatballs
Great graphics but gets boring very fast, work on variety.
my itch embed worked. You can get a LD-specific link inside the project embed settings I think.
Got a chuckle out of it
Would not run for me - white screen
Version 54.0.2840.98 (64-bit)
Mac OS 10.11.6
Thanks for the comments! I tried using the url from itch from the embedded tab and it still doesn't autoplay through the page here. For the comment about it not running on Mac, was that playing through this page or from the itch.io page?
oh, and I am kicking myself real hard for not including a leader board. :(
After voting ends I think I will add some new weapons, levels, and features. The AI is pretty bad, so I gotta improve that too
the embed should now work. I was using the wrong URL. DOH!
There was something unique about this. The sound effects and music and meatball combination was something else! I enjoyed it!
Fun game!! love the art, would be easier to play if the meatball were billboarded always facing the camera,
looks like they are hard to pick up
Hilarious.
the graphics style is the best part. The sounds were kinda sad, and the controls kinda ruined it. But the black borders in the graphics make it look very nice. Biggest problem I had was with the mouse cursor grabbing -- took some time to figure out how to get my mouse cursor back...
Embed link worked for me. Who needs BF1/CS:GO when you have meatballs! There should be a leaderboard, but aside from that it feels like you make exactly what you set out to make.
It was pretty fun! Wish we had feedback on where we're getting shot. It's hard to tell that kind of thing, but the AI isn't good enough for it to really matter right now. I liked the art style and the environment (the steps and the columns were used extensively). I wish the meatball weapon was a bit more unique mechanic-wise, but I understand the compo constraints!

Very nice game! Could've used some instructions, though. :)
great art style, game was fun and gave me a chuckle. nice work man.
the art is very nice, but the gameplay is kind messy, make the bullets more accurate and powerful when the player shot and give some tutorial before put the player in the arena
NEED... MORE... MEAT... BALLS....
What did I just play... overall, nice game if a bit strange.
10/10 would go on a murderous meatball rampage again
Enemies look much fun! Really like hand drawn style.
Ha-ha, nice and fun. Graphics are also very nice.
I like the graphics :) Gameplay could be little much more dynamic if you have ENOUGH meatballs :D
good job, love stylish pictures on the wall))!
Playing, for a while I wasn't sure if it was online of single player. I like that confusion. Running around getting the ammo to be able to shoot was kind of fun. Nicely made.
Very fun game! I love the art style and the mix of 2d with 3d. Was into it the whole time! Only problem I had at first was the looking controls, but it didn't take long to adapt to them :)
Best game ever, hope to see a collector come soon, with a 10ft meat ball. Joke aside, really entertaining. Seemed a bit hard to get meat balls tough (compared to how many the bots shoot) Still really enjoyable. Love the artstyle too.
Really funny game. I loved the hand drawn 3D aesthetics of the room and flat characters.
The meatball shooting sound was superb!
I really liked the visual style, unfortunately I was having an issue with firing, initially it did not work at all (shooting that is), after exiting full screen and going back in I got some luck, but it wasn't consistent. Double checked I had enough ammo and still not working all the time. I was playing on windows 10 in chrome on the WebGl version if that's any help.
The art style is great in this, thought it worked really well with the design of characters, room and colours, just wish there was more accuracy and feedback when shooting the meatballs. Also liked that you were able to use an idea you'd had, to bring into the jam.
Haha - what a weird game! ( Meant in the best way possible, of course) Makes me think a first person Binding of Isaac could work really well in a similar visual style.
