No Mac version :(

robert 2015-08-24 19:37

The EXE dont work for me. I am on windows

gigaraptor 2015-08-24 19:39

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CRASHES ON START, JUST RUN IT A COUPLE OF TIMES, IT USUALLY WORKS AFTER 2-3 STARTS

pusty 2015-08-24 19:41

Even after starting it a couple of times it still won't start

gigaraptor 2015-08-24 19:44

wait, try going into options and changing SCREEN_WIDTH and SCREEB_HEIGHT to something smaller

rongon 2015-08-24 20:04

Still not working on my win 8 :(
Damn it, I liked your gameplay video. Looking at the battlefield in the end, and all those corpses lying around, I shed a tear for all the fallen.
WW1, never forget!

gigaraptor 2015-08-24 20:07

I forgot some .dlls I think. Try it in 2 mins

gigaraptor 2015-08-24 20:57

right, problem fixed, turned out I was compiling with the wrong libs :(

colthor 2015-08-24 21:56

No joy here (Win7 64-bit), sorry. Tried probably a dozen times.
Crashes after opening both the console window and what'd probably be the graphics window. No exception or anything, but "problem details" includes "Fault Module Name: SDL2.dll" if that helps.

Advice to just keep trying a game called futility is amusing though ;)

gigaraptor 2015-08-24 22:08

seems to work fine for my friend and my laptop so I am not sure if we are now the exception or the rule.

sythe2o0 2015-08-24 22:57

Crashed for me on startup, windows 7 64 bit.

crypto137 2015-08-24 22:57

Doesn't work even after restarts :(

brainfreezeman 2015-08-24 23:03

The voice acting was pretty fun and the black/white mixed with red blood looks really good!
Some of the sound effects were a bit too loud though, like the artillery.

Interesting idea anyway, there should definitely be more games made about the first world war.

pixelgriffin 2015-08-25 00:27

Unfortunately, it crashes on Windows 7 for me. Tried at least a dozen times.

seamonster131 2015-08-25 00:39

On Win8 Pro works fine. Very fun game, I like it! + for soldier sounds

Shina69 2015-08-25 00:59

IT worked fine for me on windows 8 (x64).
At first i didn't know what was going on, but... this is really an harsh war scene. I found it a little sketchy and surely won't win any prize but still was fun to click a few times.

lacaranian 2015-08-25 01:12

That's a really good example of theming. Well done there. Had to finagle a bit to get it running, but worth it.

hdong 2015-08-25 01:28

Crashes sometimes

juaxix 2015-08-25 10:00

I wanted to play but the game crashes in Win7 x64

vem 2015-08-25 16:26

It has crashed several times for me now.

ceosol 2015-08-26 15:01

Interesting entry. Overall I liked it, but found the link to the theme a little weak. I do agree that you can associate war with monsters. However, in this game, both sides seem to be monsters and it starts to blur where the theme plays in.

I like strategy games and this one had a lot of fine details (units, attacks, audio). Very nice.

realize2d 2015-08-26 23:47

I think you did put a lot of effort on it, LD in C++/SDL is hard! good job!

liquidmedia 2015-08-27 06:00

It did not like to start most of the time, but ran ok after restarting the game a few times.

valid4life 2015-08-29 19:41

Haven't run into many multiplayer games!
The text is a little hard to read once the bodies start piling in
Great game!

barigorokarl 2015-08-30 09:43

This was really a schlachtfest.
