This was by far the most amusing game I've played throughout this jam thus far. Top marks on humor! One complain I have is that it's remarkably easy to reach the boss, just sit at the back and fire away. Other than that, it was a pretty fun game!

Glad you liked it! When reaching the boss, I was trying to show off how powerful your weapon was so that you would realize its full power before turning it against you. I should have used some better dialogue to showcase that. Thanks for the feedback!
I was finding the game really easy with these "I win" heat missiles until I've reached the Ice, and it went from easy to clever :-)
Nice idea, there is definitely something to dig and expand here!
had fun playing the game tho they are only a bunch of blocks in the screen. game play and concept is cool. wish there was more work put on the graphics to make it visually stimulating. i could see that it has a potential to be a very cool shooter game.

@Buko-Studios
Sorry to subject you to my "programmer art" :P I wish I had had more time to add to the graphics :(
Pretty fun game, and challenging too: it took me two tries to defeat Ice. The concept is definitely interesting.
Some music would have been nice, but the sounds are good and made me forget that I was shooting cylinders at a giant cube.
Great work.
FIRE ZE MISSILES
The writing in this game is hilarious. Though, I think the intro section should be shorter, it's quit easy to get bored and quit the game, without realizing that this is only the beginning

@gillyadrien
Music and graphics were the two things I wish I had more time for :(
@nuprahtor
Thanks. It takes about two minutes to get to the boss fight but I guess that's longer than some people's attention spans :( I added a note to the description. Hopefully that will be enough since changing the intro length wouldn't be an acceptable change at this point

Wow, the boss is really hard. Took me a while to figure out you can score several missiles into it between breaks.
I really like the nice, tight controls. Would appreciate some background music to fit the mood. Felt a bit unfair that missiles don't trigger hits for the first few seconds they spawn. I had fun with the game, though, and that's what counts!

Great sound and weapon mechanics. Cool dialog driven story. I like the block graphics. Nice game.
"Just when things were heating up." Haha, nice. Very fun gameplay! I like that the missiles alternate the side they shoot from, and that their thrusters don't activate until they're locked on. Makes shooting feel very satisfying.

I had a great time with the missiles. I don't know why but it's just fun to fire and forget. Then turning it around for the boss fight switched it up. One thing I would say is that while the boss fight was hard the regular enemies were a joke, just stay at the bottom and fire constantly
the boss definitely brought an interesting twist on things. Good work!
Epic boss fight. The texts are funny too.
@ALL try this game until the boss battle or you will miss the best part of the game.
That was a really great little game! At first I thought it was too easy then a bit hard and lacking of a twist but the boss was really perfect, I liked the story too. Well done ;)

It's pretty complete, but I felt that it didn't really realise the concept's potential. It feels like the first bit was not punchy enough - the mechanics of missiles tracking myself could have been fleshed out during the normal section - I mean I flew into the missiles myself and they didn't track me - which counters what the scenario set it up to be.
A more ambiguous rather than absolutely binary system would have been nice - it might track you if you got too close or if you generated enough heat through moving continuously, or something.
Has potential :)
Fun mechanics and an interesting bossfight! Could have really used polishing on the graphics though - maybe combine some of the shapes in unity to create something more akin to spaceships.

the missiles look like food pellets :D
I like the mechanics and the fact that you kept it simple - good work! Though I think a lot of what was explained in cutscenes could have been conveyed through gameplay
damn ice cube :) cool game, liked it so much! The dialogs are perfect! You can improve the graphics a little (adding some more effects/particles maybe). Good work!

Ok that was pretty fun. Id love to see a bullet hell game centered around shooting self seeking missles. Text had good humor to it and the gameplay felt smooth.
The graphics really have their unique style.
Good work...
hey, forgot to mention yesterday, but it ran ok on Chrome (on windows 8.1 with Google Chrome 43+ and now on MacOS X with chromium 44+), just enabled NPAPI on chrome://flags
Holy crap... the heat missiles are by far my favorite weapon used this LD so far. They are so much fun to launch and let them do their thing. The boss fight was a really nice twist and brought a whole new dynamic to the game.
Just wanted to say thanks for the typos you helped me with in TUNDRA....!

Pretty easy, and the weapon seemed pretty conventional TBH, but it was fun!

In response to your comment on my game; I played for a while and then there was some text that seemed to hint at an upcoming boss fight, but then the enemies stopped coming and nothing happened for a long time. :(

Fun concept and a fun little story.
Two minor complaints/observations about the game.
It seems completely irrelevant to shot the drones in the first part. Simply avoiding them is fine and there's no penalty in doing so.
It also seems that you can scum ICE by firing missiles directly at him from the correct distance.
Nice little game with a "cool" twist at the end. Has the potential to be improved further.

Just what have me puzzled is during the ice block fight the ice shoots the usual orange cubes, but the missiles do not seek them as they supposed to. I take it those blocks are also ice? Just a little confusion there.
Nice game overall.

@pstudio: yeah, I really feel like I missed an opportunity on the intro, looking back :(
@arhpositive: I see what you did there :D
@jprogman: your ship becomes red, so it's 'hotter' than the enemy ships. I probably should have just made the bosses drones blue as well to clear that up.
