Simple, but effective! I had fun! :)

jezzamon 2012-08-27 09:44

Pretty fun... I quit when I got a little annoyed at dying at about level 11 though.

This game is kinda lacking in graphics, and music. It needs something extra to make it an additive game, to make it something more than just another platformer game.

The game did use the theme, in a way which influenced the game play, although it wasn't a super-original use.

Still, pretty good! Good luck with future Ludum Dare competitions!

Thanks for playing and responces. They are very important for me.

Levels 1-10 are "training". Level 11 is pretty simple (Just take necassery ability at right side of level). Level 12 is hardcore. :)

zatyka 2012-08-27 23:45

Very cool concept, and well executed in 48 hours.

I found the background a bit disorienting.

dector 2012-08-31 07:43

Thanks. Glad to hear it. And you are mostly right about background.

dekart 2012-08-31 15:13

Nice combination of simplicity and complexity :)

kefir 2012-08-31 15:40

Wont run :(
It's loading like forever, then I see:

"An error occured while loading the applet.

It happens, because you pressed "Yes" on second java dialog. It asks you to block some content :) Press "No" here: http://bit.ly/O9fYAN

andreibarsan 2012-08-31 16:01

Pretty basic, straightforward platformer. The backgrounds were a tad distracting, though...

dector 2012-08-31 16:07

Usigned jar entry fixed.

therealjefe 2012-08-31 16:08

Not a bad little game here. As said, some music would have been nice.

diki 2012-08-31 16:25

Although I applaud the idea and the completeness of the execution, I was quickly frustrated by the controls and the level design; I got the impression that my input only moved the player very slowly, while other forces - gravity or flying - moved him very quickly.

Hi. Congratulations for finishing a game in 48 hours :) Here is my feedback:

- (Relevant) foreground and background should be distinguishable
- In one level you die if you take the wrong pipe. In my personal opinion, there should be no trial and error. A player should only die, if he made a wrong decision. And then, he should think something like "I'm so stupid..."
- There sometimes levelparts which aren't necessary to play. That's a bit confusing.
- Introducing new gameplay-elements step by step is really nice done. You show them on small tutorial levels (which is good), but then you didn't make a _following_ level which focus on the new gameplay element and is challenging for the player

dector 2012-08-31 16:39

Hi. Thanks for your answer. It is really impressively full and important for me.

Let me answer your about "non-playable" parts - they are like decorations. May be, bad decorations :)

kefir 2012-08-31 17:07

Now it's works! Very interesting and addictive! Spent a lot of time for playing. reminds me the Super Meat Boy :)

dector 2012-08-31 17:12

Thanks, but to be fair, I'm not good artist and level designer :)

brotherst 2012-08-31 17:17

On the flying level, if you fall you can't try again... a bit unforgiving ;) I like the simplicity though, it works.

brotherst 2012-08-31 17:19

Ok, r works now on that level, but I swear it wasn't working before :S

imef 2012-08-31 17:39

Had lots of fun. Gets really hard after lvl 10.

dector 2012-08-31 17:52

Yep. Exactly. Thanks for playing. :)

harusame 2012-08-31 17:57

Simple but funny ^^
Quite unrelated to the LD theme and graphics are not very good.

But I had fun ! It's the most important :)

josriley 2012-08-31 19:48

I enjoyed the game, but I wish the collision detection was a little more natural. It was weird getting use to dying from spikes from below, and it also made it difficult to not go back and forth in pipes at times

garygreen 2012-08-31 19:55

I really liked the idea of being able to change skills as you go along. Trying to remember what they all did was a bit tricky for me though once I got to the later stage, after the training ones.

dector 2012-08-31 20:33

@Sgt Squirrelly, @garygreen Good remarks, but it is LD compo entry. This things will be fixed in reworked version. Thanks for your attention to my game :) !

monomanio 2012-08-31 21:05

Well done!

cthulhu 2012-08-31 21:54

I liked it. Very polished game. It makes me think to super meat boy. I were stucked at level 10.

dector 2012-08-31 21:57

@monomanio - Thanks.
@Cthulhu, I know your nickname and avatar :)

cthulhu 2012-09-01 04:09

Good :D

Fallout just rocks!

miltage 2012-09-01 19:10

Good idea, and executed well. Graphics were very simple. Sometimes, when I died, it would put me outside the level area and I could walk around between the levels. Restarting the level fixed that though.

The English was full of errors, but I understand that you are probably not a native speaker. If you like, I'd be happy to assist you with any writing in the future. An impressive effort overall. Well done.

dector 2012-09-01 21:17

Thanks. Glad to hear it :)

38leinad 2012-09-02 10:22

getting quiet hard :-)
the level-completion-sound is a little "agressive" and makes me always feel like losing the level. but then i am happy to see the next level beeing started :-)

mipi 2012-09-02 19:56

There was a lot of game elements and enjoyed most of it. I would try to work the controls to feel more responsive, now it was too hard to control the character when trying to clear the spike jumping parts.

dector 2012-09-02 20:30

Thanks for your note. Will work on it.

monsieur_nez 2012-09-06 01:40

Ahhhhh too hard for me!! But great tutorial at the beginning

rawbits 2012-09-16 20:02

Well I couldn't do the 3 high jump and that is level 2...

Also there is a bug when you don't wait for the momentum to go off and press the opposite direction you stuck.
