xna - I'll pass, as I just recently got my pc in a more or less stable state.
a little too short
Controls and camera spoil it, graphics are good though.
Why this needs shaders is beyond me (XNA, i know). This makes it almost unplayable at my computer.
vidja card can't handle this, i get a wierd pink screen for output :<
A strange game, it seems as if you ran out of time. The game idea is very novel though, and I think that if you could add the chain reaction element it would be a good game.
The camera angle and controls definitely did not help. You should consider changing them a little. Or at the very least adding a keyboard control, because due to the camera jumping all over the place, it was impossible to aim with the mouse.
Apart from the jerky camera, bad controls and sort of un-marble like physics it wasn't bad at all. Nice tunes.
I may be the winner of the "able to run this entry" contest! Worked fine, nothing even to install. I think that's because I installed stuff to run another XNA entry first. I don't think you knew what the theme was, though... it was completely absent here!
Also, as other people mentioned, the controls were HORRIFIC. I've played a bunch of these marble rolling games, and I've never seen one with a control scheme like this. It was absolute murder. Nice music and visuals, though.
Congrats for completing a game in 48 hours!
So, um, it didn't crash, but is the floor supposed to do psychedelic palette shifts whenever the camera rotates?
Anyway, I generally like marble rolling games and would probably have liked this one too if it wasn't for the absolutely horrible controls that makes anything beyond level 2 completely unplayable =/
Still, it's a nice idea (no explosions, woo) and I liked the music =]
my laptop shakes its cane angrily at this young whipper-snapper =p
Can't install XNA on this POS machine of mine, so n/as from me.
A little trickier hill was very very hard!!! But in the end I got through it (thanks to the calm music), the next level was easy, but then it started all over from the beginning.
I have no Windows computer is PS 2.0. :(
Ran incredibly bad on my laptop (Vista, 2ghz dual-core, 8600GT 512mb) using the lowest resolution in windowed mode.
I did not enjoy the graphics, I would much have preferred a solid color surface for all objects :)
I love the background graphics and music. The only really chain reaction was in level 4 - but at the same time I also completely lost control of the marble. Level 3 already was hard - I think the boost you get by the red marbles is too strong, basically I just tried a few times to hit the first one as slow as possible until the second one got me to the exit. Level 4 just seemed to go on forever then when I looked back I was thrown back to level 1.
Didn't find control that bad (less frustrating than the last marble game I played where you had to tilt the whole level along two axes with mouse). However the camera became terrible once you achieved a high speed and started bouncing.
Quite a big spike in difficulty from level 2 to level 3. Level 4 was rather pointless, gave up after a minute, went to get coffee and when I came back it had finished by itself. Perhaps an arrow indicating in which direction the finish area is would help?
Sound and music were nice. The graphics were awesome (wow - you did that in 48 hours!? ;-)).
Could've been really nice if you spent more time on gameplay and less on the shiny shaders...
