Oct 2 11:51:36 Space Limiter Warp Drive ♥ 0 I like the idea as I like shmups but the execution has problems. The spaceship has inertia which in shmups is almost always a bad thing. I made 2012272. I just took my time to not get hit, it looks like that the scoring system doesn’t incentive you to complete the patterns as fast as possible. It looks like you can infinitely milk patterns by voluntarily take hits to reset your gauge (ok it would take a very long time to reach the counter stop given the amount of digits and the multiplier reset). I love danmakus with elaborate scoring systems like Cave, but note that with an uncapped multiplier a scoring system has what could be called a “DoDonPachi issue”: reseting it at half progression is worse (roughly divides your score by 4) than at the beginning or at the end (no significant loss). However the action is clear. The hitboxes are visible, the bullet direction is shown so the patterns are readable despite the bullets changing directions. You also made a tutorial which is nice.
Oct 2 12:59:05 1h 07m Clearing space ♥ 1 Very theme-fitting in several meanings of “space”. Hard (at least compared to how simple the puzzles looks like) but not too hard. Great twist on the Sokoban puzzle.
Oct 2 13:14:01 14m 56s The Carver ♥ 1 It took me a while to understand how to play. After that it became a fun game but a bit short.
Oct 2 14:05:43 51m 42s Heavy Machinery ♥ 0 I kept replaying a lot of time to try getting a higher score so it must be fun. Nice power-up system, I like that at the end you have to balance firepower and move speed. I don’t like inertia in shmups expect for Asteroid/Gravitar-likes. The slowdown mechanic could have worked without inertia. I had to switch to QWERTY to have correct WASD controls but I don’t know if HTML5 games can have scancode-based inputs. PB: 32920.
Oct 2 15:39:33 1h 33m Limited Space in Space ♥ 1 Works on Manjaro. I like the Gravitar-style gameplay. I can manage to orbit satellites, but not to not collide with other satellites. The throttle needs those indirect controls to work with digital inputs, but have you tried to control it directly with an analog trigger? PB: 6 satellites.
Oct 2 18:31:13 2h 51m Colorspace ♥ 1 Nice idea, I would happily play harder levels after those 8. + thank you for the Linux builds. The “not AppImage” binary works on Manjaro. + extra kudos for using your own language.
Oct 3 20:48:51 26h 17m Full Circle ♥ 1 It took me some time to understand that you can control dash length, but then it totally makes sense so much I wonder why other games doesn’t do this like they do for jump. I don’t know Godot but it looks like the debug builds have a lot of what can be considered bloat when you don’t debug. PB: 1:13
Oct 4 20:26:45 23h 37m The Lost Probe ♥ 1 I managed to finish it but it was super hard. The biggest difficulty is the controls: I often used a different thruster than the one I wanted to. I would have liked to remap the controls. I like Asteroid/Gravitar-style games, I like hardcore games, but this one was frustrating because of the controls issue.
Oct 4 21:45:03 1h 18m Purple Pop ♥ 1 Fun at first but after a few games I understood how to keep going forever. I love the NES-style music! Here is the game state when I decided to stop (also the game becomes very slow): 1.png
Oct 5 21:23:19 23h 38m Limited in Space ♥ 0 Congratulations for using your own code directly on the top of APIs! There is a big difficulty spike at level 10. Then the plus levels are barely harder until level 8+. I didn’t notice a difference between level 1+ and level 1++. In the last levels you need to retry until the path is not completely blocked by indestructible asteroids.
Oct 7 13:59:26 40h 36m Space: 10000km ♥ 1 Tested on Manjaro, it works. It took me some tries to figure out what to do, but it’s the game only challenge. I managed to land and save everyone.
Oct 8 12:51:35 22h 52m ASTROLIZWILL - An 80's Handheld Space Adventure ♥ 2 Fun game, I have not played with those toys but it looks like a nice throwback. I like that it displays the controls, and that you can tilt it. PB: 1010
Oct 8 15:51:12 2h 59m Ball size matters ♥ 0 I didn’t managed to finish it, I can’t finish the level where you fall down in a white tube, bounce off a tilted surface, jump through a hole and must land in a transparent tube. This is a cool twist of Super Monkey Ball. I think the physics whould be tweaked a little bit, but I can’t tell how. I am not sure how changing the ball size affects the speed. You displayed controls which is nice. WASD controls uses scancodes so it’s not messed up on non-QWERTY keyboards, thank you for that. The right joystick is not sensitive enough, I ended up holding the controller with my left hand and the mouse with my right hand.
Oct 8 16:51:48 1h 00m PcMasterio ♥ 2 The game being about building a PC adds extra interest to this Tetris-like. I would have liked to access the shop when I am solving the puzzles, so I can buy the part I need. Also being able to rotate the piece with the mouse, for example with the scroll wheel. For my next build I will make sure to buy a Pirate motherboard so my Pirate PSU delivers extra watts. Humor: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oct 9 19:58:31 27h 06m Lines ♥ 1 Fun hardcore game, you made sure to show that you can warp around which is needed later. If you resize the window the graphics are stretched. Did you write the “lib” folder yourself? Using such a library is worth kudos, but you deserve even more kudos if you also wrote that.
Oct 9 21:35:57 1h 37m Minefield Rehearsal ♥ 0 The cars and arrows makes exploring tedious. Without the other skills it would be almost the same as plaing regular minesweeper. Ok it limits the squares you can reveal, but unless you are doing a risky guess it does not prevent you to reveal the squares that you know they are clear. The other skills are welcome jokers when you are stuck. I think that the game could work with regulat click-to-reveal plus the skills, and cars replaced with lives. The music is quite repetitive so I ended up muting the sound.
Oct 11 17:04:26 43h 28m TEMPLE IS ACID (feat. Bees 🐝) ♥ 1 The rythmic zoom is quite disturbing and harms readability. However the gameplay is quite fun, it just needs different enemies or patterns to avoid cheesing the levels. I did 21 rooms / 151 acid by doing circles. In the last room all enemies had a ton of HP. I tested the Linux build, it works on my machine.
Oct 11 17:48:14 43m 48s Cosmic Cursor Capture ♥ 0 The gameplay is simplistic, but the game is very polished. You did not have a “limited space” problem when making that atlas ;-) Nim looks like an awesome language. PB: 2:00 9395
Oct 11 20:31:08 2h 42m Tanuki Trouble ♥ 2 Fun platformer. I would have wanted more levels, and harder levels. Given their length, I would happily have to die 50 times before completing them. Why dropping bombs is on the left click? Given that the pointer not mouse movements are used, it could have been a keyboard key. This makes the game impractical to play with the arrow keys. However A/D is scancode-based so it works nicely on a non-QZERTY keyboard. I would have liked to see a bit further down, I got surprised with spikes and then I kept jumping to slow down my fall. The bombs cooldown works well to not let you spam but still leave you a lot of freedom. It’s been several Godot LD54 games I tried and each time the Linux build works without problems.
Oct 11 21:01:07 29m 59s Harold the Hoarder (Linux only) ♥ 1 Writing a game engine in a weekend is a notable feat, however the game is too bugged to be enjoyable. It looks like rotated items collision don’t work properly, so sometimes it’s placed when it touches nothing and something it can go through walls. Also when I grab an item sometimes it keeps an offset with the mouse pointer.
Oct 12 20:29:55 23h 28m Color Space ♥ 1 In the v04, in the third level, I keep getting stuck on this platform: 0.png
Oct 12 20:44:46 14m 51s How much space does your RAM have? ♥ 1 Mine crashes at 170715. My 64GB are not impressed.
Oct 14 12:42:08 39h 57m Brick Breaker: Colors ♥ 1 The twist is interesting, it adds some strategy to keep your ball behind the bricks. Some sound would have been nice, even if it’s just blip blop sounds made in less than a minute with sfxr. The paddles are maybe a bit slow. Mouse controls would make controls more akin to the original Pong and Breakout. Also the ball has limited bounce angles which makes it hard to hit the last bricks. Continuous angles would make it take different trajectories and eventually hit that brick. Clearing the two levels is not very hard. Maybe make the game loop with an increasing ball speed? I am not colorblind, but thank you anyway for this setting. The Linux version works on my machine.
Oct 14 13:08:37 26m 29s Wingspan ♥ 2 Of course I would let the end run for some time until I was sure this is actually the end, at least there are not secrets just a few minutes away. Fun game and has a lot of levels for a jam game. I like how you have to play with physics to pass through some gaps. I didn’t like much the dark levels. This applies to other Godot game I tested, but the Linux build works on my machine and the controls are scancode-based so WASD became ZQSD on my AZERTY keyboard which is nice.
Oct 14 13:51:55 43m 18s Girder Panic ♥ 0 I like the idea, I like the generous hitbox, but it’s too easy to play perfectly. The game needs more variation and increasing difficulty. I ended up scoring 135460, I had a >200 multiplier that I broke near the end of my game. It looks like that drought of red enemies was random.
Oct 14 14:50:10 58m 15s Avoider ♥ 1 The moves could be improved by buffering inputs when you haven’t finished your previous mode. As others said, the difficulty is very random depending on which squares disappear. My scores: 175, 147.8, 77.9, 107.2, 80.2, 343.5, 285.4, 52.1
Oct 14 16:16:42 1h 26m Terminal Noise ♥ 1 Awesome puzzle game! This is a potential winner. Some puzzles needs a clean start (vs start from clearing the previous floor) to be solved. I probably couldn’t have finished the unfixed version. Also, while the holes allows cool muti-floor puzzles, I would have liked something else when it’s just to make you fail the puzzle. I would have liked to play fullscreen, I only got a window without decorations.
