Jan 12 09:46:26 The Gold'n Apples ♥ 2 Nice relaxing game, it was a little bit annoying that you could soft-lock yourself on tutorial island 2 and had to do the whole tutorial again. On the other hand, you could skip through the tutorial rather fast, so I guess that's fine. As soon as you grasp the rules there is no real difficulty in progressing the islands, but maybe, being a relaxing game, that was the plan. I liked that the rules are pretty simple and you could use various tactics to get the most out of placing the tiles. My score was 264 apples and 38 gold: Screenshot 2023-01-12 104114.png
Jan 12 10:07:24 20m 58s Forest Walk ♥ 1 Good job, I liked the smooth movement in the game even though it was tile-based. It was a nice little puzzly touch that you had to use diagonal movement to get to some locations in the third level. The music was repetitive pretty fast, but in no way annoying as it was very relaxing. Some minor issues, I noticed: - resizing the window does not keep aspect ratio and thus the art can get distorted - especially when moving horizontally there sometimes was noticeable pixel bleeding at the mushrooms and you could see magenta lines - you could walk behind the deactivated gem - some mushrooms in the third level were too hidden and you could only see a few pixels behind the colourful trees I guess there was no gem in the final level as the mushrooms spelled "You won", but maybe it was just to well hidden away. Also, I always love to see libGDX entries. 👍
Jan 12 10:21:32 14m 08s The End Of The Art As We Know it ♥ 1 Great idea, I loved the artstyle and the very nice soundtrack + the barks of the AI! I didn't really understand from the introduction what to do with poop art, but as I never received any poop art, that didn't matter. 🤷 I think the AI was very easily tricked as it always chose the same art piece to harvest, maybe some randomness would've made that more interesting. Great game overall!
Jan 12 10:44:42 23m 10s Mc Gobbers Shroom Panic ♥ 1 I like the general idea of the game and also the art style/animations are lovely. After having some cats protecting my field, I felt the game was too easy. There were way too few enemies and this sadly made the game boring after some time. I ran around hoping maybe there was something to explore outside of my cosy cat-shroom fields but didn't find anything. Collecting the shrooms sometimes was a PITA, because they flew around me and felt rather floaty in general. Sounds, of course, would have added a lot to the game. Nonetheless great game, it was fun to play!
Jan 12 10:59:34 14m 52s Seasons TD ♥ 2 In the beginning I thought that it was very annoying that there were multiple paths the enemies could take and that I had to protect multiple lanes. But as I realized that you have to harvest your plants to gain gold it came to me that this is the unique twist on the general TD genre. I really liked that idea, that you have to constantly rebuild your defence and adjust to the different paths. Also waiting for your plants to redeem themselves was great. I think the music volume was too low, I had to crank my speakers all the way up, but the music itself was very relaxing. Is this a pure HTML/JS game or did you use some engine/framework? Only made it half through autumn. 🍃 Screenshot 2023-01-12 115257.png
Jan 12 11:18:35 19m 01s Potato Game ♥ 2 Really great game, especially for your first one ever made! The art style alone already makes the game wholesome. The gameplay obviously is very basic and simple, but well executed and fun. By implementing a menu with its own title screen + settings and the ending cutscene it feels like a wrapped up game. Good job!
Jan 12 11:49:35 31m 00s Otter Seaweed Restaurant ♥ 1 Very cute otters you have there. Sadly, I had terrible performance on the right screen collecting the sea weed. I like the core gameplay idea, but agree that it gets repetitive pretty quick.
Jan 12 11:57:48 8m 13s Untitled Squirrel Game ♥ 1 I like the graphics very much, especially the squirrel and the animations are impressive. I like the fixed camera as that is the challenge in this game, I think. Only thing that annoyed me was when you go all the way down and the camera view is blocked by the fence. Wasn't close at all.. Jan 12 16:04:08 4h 06m Farmwiz ♥ 2 Nice game, I liked the combat system. It would have been better if the mouse was hidden and captured, I sometimes clicked on my second monitor and died through that. The challenges from ol' John were very nice and I liked that you could decide the difficulty yourself by how many crops you plant.
Jan 12 16:13:08 9m 00s Farm to Table: Wizard Edition ♥ 0 Wow this game is hard. I liked the general gameplay idea and the art style. The movement felt a little bit clunky as if colliders were all over the place. Also it was hard to distinguish the different seeds and plants. Also planting and harvesting were pretty finicky, because I never knew which farm plot or plant I targeted. Nice idea though!
Jan 12 16:21:54 8m 46s The Shameful Harvest ♥ 1 The style of the game is really nice. I felt that the controls are rather floaty and imprecise, which wasn't helping with avoiding those blazingly fast bullets. I had to give up pretty soon. The few sounds are very pleasant to the ear, but more + music surely would've added to the game. I liked the small backstory with the droid.
Jan 12 16:46:59 25m 05s Rollin' ♥ 6 The mood in this game is really great, according to this it must be awesome to be a hedgehog.
Jan 17 19:25:22 122h 38m Mountain of the Dragon Fruits ♥ 0 Great game, I love all about it. Really astonishing for a one-man compo game! Only small problem I noticed was that sometimes the mouse didn't snap 100% correctly to the tile it was over.
Jan 17 20:16:54 51m 32s Slime Crime ♥ 2 Great game, really nice difficulty curve! I love that you have to attack yourself not like Vampire Survivors etc 👍 Sometimes some shadows spawned that didn't move, but I seemingly could attack and collided with. Bug or feature? 😄
Jan 17 21:33:29 1h 16m Harvest is coming ♥ 1 I love the art and the general mood of the game and I am sure that it would tell me a very intriguing story, but sadly the technical part of the game lacks a lot. I had several cases of textboxes being cut off or texts not appearing at all and just presenting me empty text boxes (especially sad for a story-driven game). Also it is very hard to guess with which objects you can interact and in general what you have to do. The first time I got into the house I interacted with the table and the fireplace + oven but didn't do anything, because I didn't know how to. Through this my dog disappeared/died (?) after the first night, which hit me hard, because I was very happy that you could pet him. 🙁 At the second day I tried again, didn't manage to give out any food and only then at the fireplace I realized that you have to use the arrow keys when interacting with objects, opposing to WSAD I used to move around. After another few empty textboxes, I honestly gave up. I hope that these words are not too harsh, I really would have loved to enjoy the game, because the screenshots, the idea and the general mood are very appealing. If you plan to continue working on the game (after the Jam), I'd love to be notified to play a more polished version of this game. ❤️
Jan 17 21:47:07 13m 38s Harvestracks ♥ 2 I guess if you have a keyboard that only sends a few signals out, you're pretty handicapped in this game. 😅 Loving the innovative idea of this game, was really fun to send those little carts around to collect multitudes of carrots while sprinkling all the water around. Some sort of goal or at least a highscore is missing, also the difficulty does not seem to rise but stays the same. The simplistic art is very nice to look at and very readable. Great entry!
Jan 17 22:22:30 35m 23s The Last Outpost ♥ 1 Wow, the complexity in this game was overwhelming in the beginning of the game, even with the tutorial. Your name had a familiar ring in my head, so I looked you up. You damn Paradox devs with your overly complex games. 😆 (Actually, I really love Paradox games.) Great entry with much polish, astonishing for 3 days! Liked the general gameplay once you got a hang of it. I didn't like the micro management of the warriors during the defending, because they only attacked what was riiiight next to them. Maybe if you could just move them around with right mouse button it would've been more pleasant.
Jan 21 15:14:39 88h 52m Vacuum ♥ 1 Very polished entry. Great audio design! I loved the music and the little sounds when destroying a comet seemed to weave in to the music perfectly. Also the generated nebulas look fabulous!
