May 1 14:45:42 An Unexpected Mishap in Naval Mine Cove ♥ 1 Nice game, it feels very polished. The gameplay was fun. The Graphics are very nice itself, I think that pixel-perfectness would have benefited it, so you don't have these strange doubled pixel sneaking around. Also the edges are very hard on the eyes, which is fine for pixel art, but looks strange to me on that high resolution art.
May 1 14:50:20 4m 38s Deep Space Janitor ♥ 1 Nicely done, while being pretty simple, I liked the gameplay. It was a fun mix between relaxing and engaging combat. First, I was a little bit disappointed by the graphics, because they are really simple. Then I thought again and I realized that robots probably see like this, they don't need no fancy stuff, just simple major geometry to find their ways.
May 1 14:55:56 5m 36s Dungeon Painter ♥ 1 I liked this game very much, the art while being simple works extremely well. Those glowing effects are nice and I think it's cool that the graphic convey enough information on very small resolution, while still looking great in full-screen. The gameplay sometimes felt a little bit punishing when you couldn't see spikes, because they are outside of your screen. Nice job on the audio, I like the music.
May 1 15:22:00 26m 04s Super Turtle Drop ♥ 0 Very nicely done for 48 hours, feels like a full game. Two criticisms I have: the countdown in the beginning of a round didn't catch my attention first, so I thought the game just bugs out and I can't do anything. Even after noticing the countdown it still felt a little bit out of the place. Maybe it should be centered and span the whole screen. Second: the art, while being very nice, would benefit very much if you'd made it display pixel-perfect in the game. Otherwise, this unclean look arises.
May 1 15:32:33 10m 33s The Botanist ♥ 1 Very fun game, took time some until I realized, I have to lure the monsters into the plants, so they get fed and then to lure the boss into those plants. The movement was, I guess, buggy - because you could simply spam WSAD to move faster around. So you don't need to wait for the animation. Especially moving diagonally was extremely fast that way.
May 2 08:09:35 16h 37m Swab the Deck! ♥ 3 I joyed that there is another pirate game, as I also made one. :) I found the game to be very exciting. The sound and music fit the game very well, I think, another music theme for battle would've been nice, but I know: time. The combat felt pretty easy in the beginning (looking at the small and medium ships) and made a jump in difficulty when fighting the first big ship. Thus I didn't look into the upgrading mechanics very much at first. After the first big ship, I then upgraded everything. Because the game was short, I had no really incentive to look into the deck-building parts of the game, as you already start with a pretty strong deck. Especially the repairing-card feels a little bit too strong. The final battle felt extremely intense and nicely balanced. I would have liked if all battles were a little bit longer, like the last one. Two small points control-wise: upgrading hull says it costs 100 gold but in reality only costs 50 gold. You could catch cards mid-air accidentally when you drew them, thus sometimes blocking the cards you actually wanted to play. Overall good job and very exciting game, I liked it a lot!
May 2 08:43:06 33m 31s Reel Deep ♥ 1 Great game, it feels very polished. I actually have no negative criticisms. I already tried the game yesterday and to stop, as I opened it up again today, I was extremely positively surprised that it actually saved my gold progress. Not a thing you expect from a Jam game. The fishes chasing the hook are very annoying, but this a good thing and adds a lot to the fun of the game. I liked that there are two music themes, one for going down and one for going up. Overall the sound effects are very pleasing. The graphics are crisp and look very fitting. Also I liked that it gets darker and darker the deeper you go, atmospheric! And here, of course: ME RIGHT TO BRAG! Screenshot 2021-05-02 104131.png
May 2 09:32:57 49m 51s Depths Mining Co. ♥ 0 Fun little game, I like the looks of Grover a lot, simple but also cute. As others already said, I also think it would've been cooler to keep the same world to dig in. Upgrades to mining and diving speed also would've been a nice addition. I don't like, that you go faster the further your mouse cursor is away. Nonetheless nice game altogether.
May 2 09:42:19 9m 22s Taupi Taupe ♥ 1 Very nice concept and great tutorial. As others already mentioned, the beginning of the first mission is way too hard just coming out of the tutorial. It would be better if it began easy and progress to higher difficulties. Also a setting to make it slower as some sort of difficulty setting, would've been cool. Overall good job!
May 2 11:35:46 1h 53m Deep in the sky - bird flight simulator ♥ 1 While looking and sounding very atmospheric, controlling the bird is just weird. I think the overall idea is very nice and relaxing, but sadly the controls destroy this a little bit.
May 2 11:55:24 19m 38s Hamster Mania ♥ 0 First of all: the art is gorgeous. You created a very calming, relaxing and atmospheric game here. The art, sound and gameplay add well together to a soothing experience. Some critiscms I have: - it's sometimes hard to pick the correct hamster when they are running into eachother - the gameplay feels a bit repetitive after the half of the second level - the hamsters sometimes just didn't want to pick up the nuts, but yeah I guess they are just being lazy there 🐹
May 2 17:16:32 5h 21m Altum Altum ♥ 3 Great puzzle-concept, never saw this idea before. I surrendered at level 11, it just became too hard for me on a Sunday evening. Would be cool, if you showed the last moves on game over, so you can easily compare your new strategy to the old one. Altogether very solid entry!
May 2 17:27:34 11m 02s Cthulhu's Deep Dream ♥ 1 I don't know, why my fanatic cultists wanted to kill me, but I very much liked the sound I made when smashing their helmets. Solid platformer with a nice setting. Sometimes I glitched around a little bit when hitting the corners of a platform, but other than that, very polished! I liked the art much and also the camera effect, it appeared as you walked in the inside of a cylinder.
May 3 15:00:10 21h 32m How Deep is Your Love ♥ 7 What a great game with a great twist in the end! The music very much reminded me of Monkey Islands music, were you by any chance inspired by it? I love the general art-style especially the pixel-art. Me personally, I don't like the combination of 3D and pixel-art but that's just subjective, I can nonetheless appreciate the style and think it looks very good. The game feels rather short and too easy, but on the other hand end-to-end fully polished. I like all the different ideas you had for the dangers of the deep sea. Altogether, very polished entry, great job!
May 3 15:12:07 11m 57s Deep Freeze ♥ 1 I missed some sort of win screen in the end, I did feel like I didn't accomplish anything. 😄 Other than that, solid entry!
May 7 23:50:09 104h 38m HOOKSHOT HELL ♥ 2 Very cool game. I was lost as well with the three guys in the last room, but the comments helped me. Maybe a prominent hint, that this is the end, in the game description would be helpful for other players. I think you got a nice concept here on which you can build upon. The idea of two hooks with different functions (as I understood from your comments) is really cool. Sadly, in this version, I felt like I only need one hook all the time. Also something feels a little bit off, while hooking around, but I can't exactly explain what. I think the problem might be, that you instantly stop when reaching the end of the hook, that doesn't feel natural. There should be some sort of deceleration/gravity. The graphic style is really nice, it reminds of old games, but still looks and feels modern.
May 14 10:39:25 154h 49m Sergei the Salvager ♥ 1 Very nice atmospheric game. The gameplay mechanic is really simple, but it tells a nice story. The graphics and the sound fit nicely together. Would've liked if it was longer.
May 14 10:50:59 11m 34s Turrim 3D ♥ 0 The graphics are really cool, I like the 3D with a pixel shader over it. The game is really atmospheric, but sadly there wasn't any difficulty. You just could spam attack all the time and had an easy time. Nonetheless, I think, with tweaking the battles and adding more levels the game can become great. More jump passages would've been nice as well.
May 14 20:59:39 10h 08m Deep Mining Cookie Clicker ♥ 1 Very nice clicker/idle game. I idled this the same way as UkuleleFury and automated the clicking with JavaScript to see what the game offers. I think the upgrades are very nice, but the second (?) cost to go deeper (500000) felt a little bit too big. I guess smaller steps in the beginning would get one more addicted to the game because you have small successes. The game altogether feels very polished.
May 18 16:54:21 91h 54m Plunder of Goblin's Grove ♥ 1 Really liked this game. Especially the graphics and general atmosphere of the game feels great. If you didn't mention that you're "just" the substitution audio guy, I hadn't noticed. I think the sound and music add well together to the game. Of course, some sort of battle theme in between would've been nice, but seeing what you managed to do under that circumstances, was already great. I didn't really see the use of the whip after you got the spear, but maybe it would've gotten its importance in later levels. The AI, as you already wrote, feels pretty stupid, but hey they're goblins after all. The frogs jump-distance sometimes frightened me a little bit, somehow the animation and the distance doesn't fit together and you're expecting shorter jumps. I'd loved to see the other levels, but this small "demo" of your game already feels very polished. The loading screen is really cool. I hope I managed to get all goblets, the number is suspiciously relating to Ludum Dare. 🤔 Screenshot 2021-05-18 184322.png
