I like the direction it was going. You may want to add some sounds to the game next time as it would have made finding the mushrooms that much more satisfying.
Funny mushrooms go brrrr
Congrats on your first game. Nice graphics. The idea is simple enough. Maybe add a mushroom radar to find that last one?
Nice game! I noticed stone has no collider. But graphics is very cool!
Graphics are really good, but for some reason it feels like the controls don't really work all that well, like sometimes they take a while to respond to the keys I press, could just be an issue with my computer though. Also I have no idea how you made it in java lol
Good job, I liked the smooth movement in the game even though it was tile-based. It was a nice little puzzly touch that you had to use diagonal movement to get to some locations in the third level. The music was repetitive pretty fast, but in no way annoying as it was very relaxing.
Some minor issues, I noticed: - resizing the window does not keep aspect ratio and thus the art can get distorted - especially when moving horizontally there sometimes was noticeable pixel bleeding at the mushrooms and you could see magenta lines - you could walk behind the deactivated gem - some mushrooms in the third level were too hidden and you could only see a few pixels behind the colourful trees
I guess there was no gem in the final level as the mushrooms spelled "You won", but maybe it was just to well hidden away.
Also, I always love to see libGDX entries.
What a peculiar game... The music and graphics took me to an other Earth. I somehow enjoyed collecting the mushrooms again and again and fell into a trance. It is a good work. I hope that you will make more enchanting peculiar forest games in the future. My friends and I enjoyed it.
Really liked the graphics and music, but I think more could be done to show what the gem is before it's activated.
+1 for java - not often I find a fellow java+libGDX user :) Graphics were good and the use of TiledMap kept the drawing efficient (even if the level behind the scenes is massive) On size of maps - I did find myself getting rather lost rather easily but the paths tiles helped a bit. I'll make one wee gripe about some of the collision being a little off (bottom left corner rather than centre?) but I enjoyed playing this! :) Good stuff
Cool, cute little game. Lovely sprite work too, even if borrowed, the game is pleasant!
I didn't know that I had passed the level, the picture is very good, the music is inexplicably a bit weird. It's really hard to find mushrooms, and after finding mushrooms you have to find the teleportation stone, no hints at all, which makes me very confused, if possible, I hope there are some hints to tell me where I should go to find the teleportation stone, looking forward to the subsequent updates.
Controls need work, graphics are fine, although a bit static, and given that this is a walking simulator these needed to be the pillar of the game and they kinda suck.
That's a pretty good attempt for your first game! Great work! :D
Pretty great start honestly! A few more sound effects (like mushroom collecting, maybe gem activation) and maybe lining up the movement with how the trees are spaced might make it a little less jerky, but overall fun and effective!
