| Oct 3 01:22:33 | Boat Rampage | ♥ 2 | Fairly decent game, really a fan of the sound effects in particular. Only real complaints are controls don't feel super responsive and some of the upgrade cards are a bit hard to understand at first. | |
| Oct 3 01:36:37 | 14m 04s | second interval | ♥ 2 | Really great game! I love your unique interpretation of the theme. The controls are super tight and responsive and the levels are pretty well designed in my opinion. Really love the art style and the audio (that final track in particular is such a banger), honestly the only real way I can think of to improve would be to have the background track get "fuller" as you progress through each level (maybe have each level add an additional stem to the background track or something similar) to really sell the mood that you're bringing music back to the world. All in all a very solid game and can tell a lot of hard work went into it. |
| Oct 3 02:44:12 | 1h 07m | Watch Out | ♥ 3 | Pretty fun game. The puzzles are all super solid (I'll admit I gave up on the level after collecting the batteries because I couldn't figure it out lol). The mix of a 2D character with a 3D background gives off strong Paper Mario vibes and you honestly really pulled it off. The voice acting was also really strong for your first time and the a capella track was hilarious! Only real sin imo was defaulting to fullscreen with no way to switch to windowed but that's a really minor point |
| Oct 3 03:09:34 | 25m 22s | Seconds These Days | ♥ 2 | Really unique interpretation of the theme. I really like the graphics and audio. I agree though that it would've been nicer to progress the dialogue in the intro at my own pace as it was a bit too fast. |
| Oct 3 03:14:50 | 5m 16s | Moo Moo Care | ♥ 1 | Very difficult but super fun |
| Oct 3 03:29:48 | 14m 58s | Cat Jam | ♥ 1 | Really neat concept! Having to juggle solving the puzzles with the 10 second timer really adds a layer of complexity. The game's graphics are simple but combine with the audio to set the mood really well. |
| Oct 4 04:29:22 | 24h 59m | Emperor Penguin | ♥ 1 | Unique concept, the art and sounds are pretty solid and really like the humour. |
| Oct 4 04:34:32 | 5m 10s | Burn Notice | ♥ 1 | Pretty neat concept! The audio really adds to the suspenseful feeling. Personally wasn't a huge fan of how the delivery truck handled and manipulating the box was fairly difficult but overall still had a fun time. |
| Oct 4 04:41:29 | 6m 57s | Clockwork | ♥ 1 | Neat concept, plays super nice and the graphics and audio are super crisp. Personally I felt the difficulty ramped up a bit too quickly but that may have been me playing poorly or getting a poor hand. Other than that a really solid entry! |
| Oct 4 04:46:04 | 4m 35s | The Game Ends | ♥ 1 | For some reason starting the game immediately brings up the game over screen, doing this on both the web and windows version Screenshot 2022-10-04 004504.png |
| Oct 4 04:55:13 | 9m 09s | Life is Fleeting | ♥ 0 | Definitely a neat idea! The art was pretty solid (honestly gave me strong RPG maker vibes) and the gameplay reminded me a lot of Stardew. I found the player is a bit hard to control and selecting the tile to interact with was a little difficult but it was a really neat concept. |
| Oct 4 10:18:57 | 5h 23m | Bunny is going places | ♥ 1 | This game is deceptively difficult in a very good way. On paper the mechanics seem super simple but it's a challenge of hand-eye coordination when you actually start to play that's implemented perfectly. When the player loses it never feels like the game cheated them but rather that they misplayed. Like others have pointed out, the track layering on the music is super impressive and not something you usually see in an LD game and adds a really nice layer of depth to the music outside of just a simple loop, the music is also super well composed in general. The fact that everything happened exactly on beat just š© absolutely amazing and made the already really good background track add to the gameplay experience even more. The graphics were really well done, super consistent and fit the lighthearted mood the game was going for perfectly. The dialogue and little details show a really strong level of care and polish and led to a really enjoyable experience overall. Honestly one of the best LD entries I've ever played. |
| Oct 4 10:34:41 | 15m 44s | Bobo's Happiness Factory | ♥ 1 | Super fun entry! The sprites while simple are really well done. I really like the music track (it fits the more frantic pace of the late game perfectly) and the sound effects fit the game really well (I like the fact that the more expensive items have a harsher sound when they get broken, it adds a really subtle level of detail), the difficulty curve ramps up at a really fair speed. I also think I have the new high score :) Screenshot 2022-10-04 063259.png |
| Oct 4 10:44:35 | 9m 54s | 10 Second Mixtape | ♥ 4 | First off I have to say I'm super impressed by pulling off an online game for an LD, that's super difficult to accomplish. The sprites are really well done and fit the games super lighthearted not too serious mood really well. My final mixtape had me actually cackling due to how absurd and wacky it was. While the music nerd in me wanted to make a decent sounding track, it was really amusing just making the most absurd track possible. 10/10 would jam again |
| Oct 4 11:08:00 | 23m 25s | The Stack Machine | ♥ 1 | Super neat concept. Definitely reminded a lot of assembly programming, some of the puzzles were super fun to try and figure out. |
| Oct 4 11:26:20 | 18m 20s | Life Passes You By | ♥ 2 | I don't think a Ludum Dare entry has ever given me chills before. Absolutely moving. The music and overall aesthetic were completely on point and lead to this really melancholy and almost nostalgic mood. The prompts came by fast and sometimes I'd have to select an option without fully reading the prompt or do nothing, but it was very clear that that was the point and it was executed beautifully, it really drove home the feeling that life comes by extremely fast and you won't have the time to do everything you want to. It was a really great touch to have everything you've done play back at the end, it honestly caused me to reflect not just on the choices made in the game, but my actual life. You don't have a game here my friend, you have art. 5's across the board. |
| Oct 4 13:12:30 | 1h 46m | server.vasm | ♥ 1 | Iām a computer engineering student so you effectively just made my homework into a game but it was pretty fun š The UI was super clean and the sound design was really nice and the puzzles were fun to solve. |
| Oct 7 01:34:47 | 60h 22m | Phase Snake | ♥ 1 | Really well polished and a really unique interpretation on snake. Could definitely see this being expanded into a full game! The controls took a bit to get used to but once you do it's super fun to play. |
| Oct 7 01:59:48 | 25m 01s | Party is Over | ♥ 0 | Really liked the game's humour and it's a fairly unique concept. The overall aesthetic is pretty nice but the text is a bit blurry and hard to read on a high resolution monitor. It was really fun trying to figure out what to do with a few things like the passed out guy (although maybe I should be concerned I instantly figured it out once I got the saw). |
| Oct 7 02:06:50 | 7m 02s | Fast Dating! | ♥ 1 | Really unique concept. The gameplay was super fun and fast-paced and made for an overall enjoyable experience. Really liked the aesthetic and the background sounds captured the atmosphere of a speed dating event pretty well. |
| Oct 7 02:13:09 | 6m 19s | A Messed Up Elephant And Some Mean Racoons | ♥ 1 | Some pretty nice lighthearted fun. The collision is a bit wonky which lead to controlling the elephant being frustrating at times but was still a pretty fun experience (although since raccoons are my favourite animal I'm gonna have to dock you a point there š). Final score of 42 on my first run |
| Oct 7 03:32:06 | 1h 18m | Machine! | ♥ 1 | Really unique and fun gameplay! The gameplay and graphics are super well polished. It took a bit of time to realize I was supposed to make the order on the bottom of the list, intuitively I wanted to make the order at the top and was wondering why it wasn't working, this could easily be fixed with highlighting the current task in some form. I would've liked some way to automatically move boxes between machines in the later levels, needing to hover over a machine to figure out what it does Overall the game has a bit of a learning curve at first (could be solved with some type of tutorial but I completely understand why you wouldn't be able to accomplish that in 48 hours) but once you figure it out it becomes a lot of fun. There's definitely solid potential here! |
| Oct 8 06:37:30 | 27h 05m | Speedy Farmer | ♥ 1 | Pretty fun game, the graphics are pretty well polished and I was a fun of the music. Like the others said I found it a bit hard to accurately know which tile I was interacting with, having separate buttons to put the tools down would've helped as well as I'd keep putting them down while trying to use them by not being in the right spot. |
| Oct 8 08:09:20 | 1h 31m | Needy Pixel Kitties | ♥ 1 | Really cute entry :) The graphics and audio are really well done, the physics made the gameplay a lot more interesting as well. Personally I felt the difficulty curve to be a bit sharp, it starts off really easy and then immediately ramps up in difficulty and the random cycling of tools detracted from the experience imo. There was multiple occasions where I'd need one or two specific tools and I'd have to cycle through the tools 5 or 6 times to get the ones I needed which made it feel like when I lost it wasn't entirely my fault for misplaying but rather the RNG working against me. |
| Oct 8 08:18:53 | 9m 33s | Hostile Climate | ♥ 1 | Absolutely brutal. I would've loved a warning on what the next obstacle would be, antigravity becomes an insta-death if you didn't happen to be under shelter for instance. I have to admit the first time I died to a cow got a chuckle out of me. Graphics and sound were really well done :) |
| Oct 8 08:48:31 | 29m 38s | BackroomsBreak - Alpha version test v0.1 | ♥ 0 | Interesting concept but unfortunately game doesn't want to run on my mid-range PC (just shows a black screen). Ryzen 5 2400G, RX 570 and 16 GB of RAM |
| Oct 8 09:05:33 | 17m 02s | Room Again | ♥ 2 | Really interesting take on the theme. The graphics and audio were both really well done and added to the bleak mood really well. The idea of keeping the item you were holding through the time loops was a really interesting one and required the player to make smart choices about what item they were going to carry into the next loop which added a really interesting layer of depth to the puzzles. |
