| Oct 7 16:28:31 | Coinbold | ♥ 1 | I'm rating this more as a sound check - I have enough stuff going on now I have to global mute to go to sleep. Also might detect mistakes like your number pad getting stuck. Very charming! | |
| Oct 7 18:22:37 | 1h 54m | Emoji Overflow | ♥ 1 | Splendid little Tower Defense. The Dragon is clearly the MVP. I use the other ones to create "traffic patterns". And it's clever to box the big boss in so it can't move at all. |
| Oct 7 18:38:58 | 16m 21s | The Howler | ♥ 1 | "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! this is strange… explain" It's like an interactive scaling version of the painting by Edvard Munch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scream |
| Oct 8 14:34:22 | 19h 55m | Blank Page Syndrome | ♥ 0 | I saw a hint of sadness that was stronger than the humor. But pleasant little poem! |
| Oct 8 14:55:01 | 20m 39s | Trueque | ♥ 2 | I forgot who it was, but I think I remember something like the Match to House story. And I also like how relaxing this is, great for something idle when you're on hold with the bank processing all those trades! :) |
| Oct 8 15:31:00 | 35m 59s | Start 95 | ♥ 1 | Heh yep I missed the joke from just the comments - hysterical! A little washy on the movement though. |
| Oct 8 15:51:17 | 20m 17s | LEGS | ♥ 1 | Y'all weren't kidding on the music and art! Too bad I am awful at platformers! |
| Oct 8 16:15:17 | 24m 00s | Souliseum | ♥ 1 | Yeah, I liked the map spells theme. And I second the difficulty without health bars. I have worse than average reflexes but I didn't make it past level 2. |
| Oct 8 16:53:39 | 38m 22s | Updates | ♥ 1 | The music off by default is a feature! You have to get the record player to unlock it! I did get stuck on the second level - I'm not so good at blind mapping, and the witch was disorienting to work around. |
| Oct 8 17:08:45 | 15m 06s | Cult War | ♥ 1 | Yep, the art is the winner here. Simple game play, chill. |
| Oct 8 17:34:40 | 25m 55s | Polterheist | ♥ 1 | Apparently, "F" toggles people following you on and off, E is some kind of Interact. So kinda shuffling people until little "blips" when progress seems to be happening. Two levels, fun little game, and if the ending is what I think it is, funny! |
| Oct 8 18:14:29 | 39m 49s | Thanks for Nothing | ♥ 1 | Fun little game! I couldn't find the last (middle?) ending though. I didn't feel up to methodically trying to proof out if certain items were needed for the launch or not. |
| Oct 8 21:07:22 | 2h 52m | Memories of Eleph | ♥ 4 | I got tuck figuring out where things like the key are. I kept trying to shoot the projectiles but that didn't seem to help. |
| Oct 9 00:59:15 | 3h 51m | deathlock | ♥ 1 | The site description is a little unclear. You start with 3 health, shown at the top, then you have to get boxing gloves to knock off your lives and send you airborne through passageways, some hidden, until you die in a heap on the next level and respawn at the checkpoint. Clever mechanic! I got quite a few levels done, until finally I simply got stuck. I can't formally rate, but here are some thoughts. Innovation high, graphics below average (simple boxes), no sound, but decent playability if you get into it. Passable3 difficulty curve - I didn't beat the game, but got enough levels in to get the style. |
| Oct 9 01:11:08 | 11m 53s | Finding fun | ♥ 2 | To me it was a mobile art piece. The sunset, and the car were really well done! |
| Oct 9 01:43:05 | 31m 57s | Game Title Here | ♥ 1 | "by Z_Doctor (@z-doctor), published 7 hours ago Did anyone use the escape button to quickly end timers?" ... And the whole game! And it really wasn't kidding about an early close if you don't try to dig! But then, Enter works pretty well on the Dig screen. I'm there for ya buddy! |
| Oct 9 01:59:15 | 16m 10s | Something out of Nothing | ♥ 1 | "by RilleP (@rillep), published a day ago I’m not really a fan of games that you can’t win or lose, but this was very chill." I think you CAN win this game, just not really lose! I didn't iterate it in depth, but maybe you need a few of almost everything, then the last 4 make a sun. Pleasant little game! |
| Oct 9 02:33:22 | 34m 07s | DesertTamer | ♥ 1 | Yes, nice little proof of concept. I'm getting 3 trees and 4 houses is stable on water with the other resources growing, so if we want them all growing, maxxing pop, it's 2 trees and x houses. I get 5, leaving a 1 increment on food. I can't see any effect at all to anything else, nor have I really waited too long for some resource to hit a threshold like the delivery guy to do something. But the graphics are crisp, and then you can just do whatever you like with the engine shell. |
| Oct 9 03:13:20 | 39m 58s | Return to Nothing | ♥ 2 | I found it nifty too. However, the timer was rather fast! It might be nice to have a "leisurely" option! And I made it once to the Hand of the King ending, but I haven't found any secrets! |
| Oct 9 04:17:32 | 1h 04m | Business Quest | ♥ 1 | Grand little game. It's a dead heat in style for a Commodore 64 classic called Rags to Riches. The ending here is much funnier though! Rags to Riches had one more layer - when you were down on your luck, burglars would try to steal your pocket cash so you had to bank it. Unfortunately, that game also had a game breaking IRS agent who could wipe out your entire bank, severely decreasing the fun! But the burglar might be a nice touch. You'd duck into places to get away from him. Visually, the graphics are certainly different than Rags to Riches, but broadly the same pixel depth or so. So I could see a Jam game with the extra time and human power bridging the gap of 30 years! An interesting play tip for people I learned on that one, is to "over-qualify" before moving up. So it turns out, the Pizza Chef is quite irritating as a platform grind! It's much easier to churn the Bin Man all the way to the specs for the secret door. Small Businesses are exhausting! :) |
| Oct 9 05:06:50 | 49m 18s | Nothing | ♥ 0 | A grand game indeed! A few people have done the Platformer with Missing Abilities. I'm terrible at platformers, so it was nice I was able to actually finish this one! \ Interestingly, I started with the Easy version, so I knew about the camera shift. - I didn't see anything fancy to do with Blue Mode, and I was hoping that Elevator "bug" was a Mario type secret passage (but you can still only go right there to a point!) - if it's humor, I get it, but I was confused by not seeing any effect from the Fairy, or Squeaky Shoes. - Really generous checkpointing - it could have been far worse with the 3-5 lives then back to way back! - Clever use of Left Only. I'm trying to remember if I've seen t hat again yet after playing a bunch. So the rotating platforms are simple enough in reg platforms, but then you discover you botched the angle going too far left and can't fix it! |
| Oct 10 00:21:42 | 19h 14m | Empty Rooms | ♥ 1 | Relaxing indeed! Since it''s already above, I'll sharpen the hint that the Alligator goes in the bottom room. Work in categories! : ) I think I saw a bug though, on Vivaldi browser, the actual names of the items weren't alwys showing up in the grid inventory. |
| Oct 25 15:24:40 | 375h 02m | Catsaway | ♥ 0 | Heh - to a point, I almost want a mode where you're not actually playing so you can see the wild art in the background! |
| Oct 25 15:48:41 | 24m 01s | 💩 | ♥ 0 | Funny little platformer! "The name is weird" - You collect little piles of poop! "by CG_Fred (@cg-fred), published 2 weeks ago Uhmm yeah weird name but the game was nice, not sure how related it was to the theme though." Hmm, you gain a point of health for every poop you collect, so starting from almost nothing. I didn't see any checkpoints but the difficulty level looked generous enough to at least get a few levels in. |
| Oct 25 15:52:33 | 3m 52s | Kawhatzithon | ♥ 0 | I want a zelepath! |
| Oct 25 16:21:06 | 28m 33s | Witches Beware | ♥ 2 | Grandly dark indeed! I do agree a bit with the walking pace, I'll try to remember to play this one more later when I have patience. I think you can make decisions that block the win and not even really know, because one tenet of game play is to explore the menu buttons, the other is that probably "do everything" is the right gameplay. |
| Oct 25 16:49:07 | 28m 01s | Tower of Minos | ♥ 1 | Yep, and people used to tetris might get disoriented when they can't move the pieces, so the long horozontal one flattens you, and then that trapped thing. |
| Oct 25 17:49:09 | 1h 00m | Human | ♥ 1 | Yep, nice work on the art! By now I'm ALMOST expecting Halloween endings! But I am playing through the games with that innocent 80's horror movie air. Boing Boing! |
| Oct 25 21:01:54 | 3h 12m | Edge of Twilight | ♥ 0 | "by carterjin (@carterjin), published a day and a half ago ... I found a strategy that works. Basically you start and research fungus farm immediately, store up some food early. Then research hydro electricity, then try to gather some wood and steel. When you have 3 fungus farm and a hydro power plant, then it’s all set. " I'm on the Windows build, on a Win10 box, and maybe it's bugged out. Nothing seems to build, researches don't tell me clearly (at all?) how many science points do anything, and it almost won't let me do any 2nd form of research, nor do I know what the requirements to research are. Clearly the first move is destroy the toy plant, borrow the workers, make 2 farms and a sawmill. But then absolutely everything seems to stall out! |
| Oct 25 21:16:08 | 14m 14s | Missing Entry | ♥ 0 | It's still a bit thin. I added a bit of dialog to a dwarf, but I'm not up for an epic effort today. |
| Oct 26 06:17:14 | 9h 01m | Fruit Mamba | ♥ 0 | "by mathemagician (@mathemagician), published 2 weeks ago ... Is it intentional that falling into a fruit doesn’t seem to eat it?" "by FrozenCow (@frozencow), published 2 weeks ago @mathemagician Thanks! It wasn’t clear initially whether it should eat while falling, I think eventually we decided it should but didn’t have time to fix it unfortunately :D" Sounds like an idea for a Post Compo version! Simple (?) mechanic change and a menu, leave the levels (almost?) where they are (unless something became unwinnable). I like that the graphics are simple and crisp, rather than 3d render or something, because there's some counting involved. I haven't tried level 3 much as I post this, but what's interesting by not allowing a "simple fall" on the apple is it takes some finesse to get the height sequencing right. Certainly the gravity is rather strange! Tip for people: check your browser zoom. While some people can do it, you shouldn't have to go after the tree "blind" - zoom out so you can see the tableau. Update: That aspect made level 2 much harder for me than many of the succeeding levels. And in fact, if you didn't want to change the mechanics, just swap level 2 into the end! The rest are far easier! I had to do some sophisticated counting for level 2, and the rest felt much more natural. But pleasant little game! |
| Oct 26 08:16:31 | 1h 59m | Epoch | ♥ 1 | 25/30! After a while, could be because I have a heavy drain on the browser and comp overall, but it really slowed down. But I hope this gets it out of Danger Zone! Epoch 25 of 30.PNG |
| Oct 27 07:20:06 | 23h 03m | Lucky Legal Llama | ♥ 0 | I didn't mind the leisurely speed - it's a bit of change in sailing as opposed to all these modern fast games! I only saw one wind direction I think - from behind the south east? So it wasn't clear if I was supposed to anchor and have a meal waiting for it to change. Pirate port! |
| Oct 27 08:05:04 | 44m 58s | Bonnie Bones 🧙♂️💀 | ♥ 0 | Cute little witch. I'm guessing "no soul for compo" means that you got the game world going but then became too tired! :( But I hope you keep the concept, it has a street fighter type spell feel. |
