Oct 8 00:08:41 Amalgame ♥ 3 This was a really fun game. It took me a while to figure out that I had to evolve the movement cells. I thought they floated into me like the green cells. Once I got moving, it was a blast. The graphics are beautiful and the controls feel good.
Oct 8 00:40:39 31m 58s Gecko's Cabinet ♥ 2 It's a cute design and fun to play through a couple of times to see where it goes. It would be great to have a quit button in the main menu.
Oct 8 00:59:15 18m 36s Nothing to Say ♥ 3 That was adorable. It's a very sympathetic take on social anxiety. If you had more time, I would have liked to build on successful conversations in repeats. Great game!
Oct 8 15:04:10 14h 04m Keep Me Burning ♥ 1 Nice design and the sound is really great. I don't understand the random inaccessible lights. Why does my lamp keep baddies away but those don't? The flow is pretty nice when you get the hang of it.
Oct 9 01:49:16 10h 45m Buried Things ♥ 0 This was the first game that made me laugh out loud. The intro could be a hair faster, but once I got into it, the puzzles were subtle and fun.
Oct 9 02:01:48 12m 32s There's only Dark and you're a Cube (TioDayaaC) ♥ 4 A good idea! I love games that play with light and shadow. One thing I recommend, especially with puzzle games where locomotion is a big part of the main loop: be wary of physics-based controllers. They can be very unreliable. For example, in my first run I was pushed into the wall by a turret and stuck there. (the impact of the turrets was a nice touch, too!)
Oct 9 02:03:28 1m 40s From Nothing To Nothing ♥ 1 Great game. I like the flow and the music felt very appropriate. It was a bit tricky to tell where the bounding boxes were at times but it was lots of fun. I'm kind of glad I didn't get the whole story. We have a young kid and family death stories make me queasy.
Oct 9 02:12:47 9m 19s VII ♥ 3 The puzzle idea is a good one! It wasn't clear at first where the character's hit box would line up with the stage's dangers, but once I figured that out the puzzles were a fun challenge. The music was very suitably spooky! For the opening text: the lack of a text background and the jumpy word wrap make it a bit harder to read, I recommend tweaking that if you rely on text for your next project.
Oct 9 02:19:36 6m 49s Spare Change ♥ 1 It's a very humbling game - in a good way. Maybe check your camera update code. It might be updating at the wrong time, which can cause the jitters. Good work!
Oct 9 02:24:17 4m 41s Small Town ♥ 1 I immediately feel the panic of having messed up my holiday shopping. eep. This was a great idea and adorably executed! Plus, you get extra points for cats. There's always points for cats.
Oct 9 02:36:48 12m 31s Space Scavenger ♥ 0 I love building spaceships so I immediately liked this idea! It was fun to avoid those mines, but before I got my engines it was sad to slowly be overtaken by those mines. Oh, that poor exploded space-survivor. One thing I'd recommend would be a star field to give the player some feedback on how they're moving. At one point I wasn't sure if I was still moving or not! Overall this was fun, and the ship piece art is a nice touch
Oct 9 03:57:58 1h 21m Mall-icious Intent ♥ 0 Polished art and catchy music! Very well executed, and the snarky text is a nice touch.
Oct 9 04:07:51 9m 53s A Field of Flowers ♥ 1 What a delightfully chill game! I feel more at peace, having played it. Thank you!
Oct 10 17:19:49 37h 11m FROGBERT: Road to Culinary Stardom ♥ 1 Out of curiosity, why did you choose isometric perspective? You mentioned it was a conscious decision. Was it just because you liked it or does it serve a larger purpose? It's a fun game. Lots of polish for a short time span.
Oct 10 18:16:15 56m 26s Nothing is my car ! ♥ 1 I love how you interpreted the theme. The models and animations are simple, but funny. Nor sure if it's just me, but I'm getting some flicker on the horizon. It makes it harder to see the incoming objects. If you plan on adding to it in the future, I would love ASDW controls. Great game!
Oct 10 18:22:58 6m 43s Soulless ♥ 1 Great level design and the minimal graphics worked great. Nice game!
Oct 11 03:55:18 9h 32m Little Guardian ♥ 1 This is a really impressive project to cram into a ludum dare weekend! The music fits perfectly, the game is a fun challenge, and the destructable pixel world is cool. Plus extra points for supporting gamepads!
Oct 11 04:12:02 16m 44s Draconomics ♥ 2 Very cute! I really dig the dragon design. This would make a great tablet game for relaxing on the couch. A couple more maps with some more detail and I think you'd be able to ship this. More audio cues would be nice for when the dragon decides not to want something anymore, but I'm just picking nits. This is great!
Oct 11 04:26:14 14m 12s Zen Man ♥ 1 What a great visual treatment! You really nailed the theme on this one, and the control is very smooth. The ambient nature sounds are also a really nice touch. Well done!
Oct 11 18:27:21 14h 01m Dead Again ♥ 1 The graphics and music fit together nicely. It's a fun game with nice levels.
Oct 11 18:39:20 11m 59s Loot Simulator 2019 ♥ 0 It's got a nice smooth feel. The base mechanic is very satisfying.
Oct 13 01:22:24 30h 43m VersusPunch ♥ 2 It's really nice to see a multiplayer game pop up in Ludum Dare! I haven't seen many of these. A++ on the intro, the entire premise of this game is as lovely as it is over-the-top 80s. It's nice that the loser gets to pick their powerups. The music is really catchy, too. The only thing I miss here is a pause button or a keyboard option for folks without multiple controllers. Very well done!
Oct 13 02:06:48 44m 24s N0THING.exe ♥ 1 Really good entry! I love that you have to run the music in-game in order to listen to it as a player, that's a nice detail. This felt very polished! The only constructive feedback I have is for the time puzzle. On any sort of QTE, players usually react better to the timing being on the button press, rather than a button release. But that's a tiny detail in an overwhelming fun game. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Oct 19 18:22:33 160h 15m Just One More ♥ 1 Hahaha. Nice story. As a personal preference, the right handed controls feel overloaded. I have to switch between mouse and movement and interact. Maybe add ASDW support in the future? Great theme, great game!
Oct 24 05:57:47 107h 35m Election Simulator 2019 Island Edition ♥ 1 A clever idea! I didn't understand what to do at first and spent all my money before starting the campaign. Haha, oops. It's an impressive idea to run a campaign sim, and there's quite a lot in here for a compo!
Oct 24 06:12:23 14m 36s Solar Grid ♥ 0 This was fun! I didn't understand that you could build things without having full energy at first, so it seemed almost too hard! It's still a challenge, though. I got tripped up on the controls for placing and controlling turrets. It was a lot of clicks in rapid succession to try to control them all, which is part of the challenge but also doesn't feel like something that you can get into a flow with. Controls aside this felt really tight and successful :)
Oct 24 06:20:50 8m 27s Floatblox ♥ 1 This is a pretty big scope for a compo game! I liked the aesthetic of little floating islands in the sky, and it's impressive to have a build system in there! One thing I would recommend (at least for GL mode), add in a restart button for when klutzes like myself fall off the island ;)
Oct 24 06:28:02 7m 12s House of Volans ♥ 3 That was fun! There's am unsettling art style here, which adds to the game quite nicely
Oct 25 01:05:35 18h 37m Memoirs Found in a ♥ 1 I love the art style! You really nailed down a cool aesthetic here. I ran into some snags with the UI, I think perhaps this wasn't meant for a 4:3 monitor. But that's what I get for using dinosaur hardware. This was a nifty idea and it's always a treat to see someone play with the cthuluverse :)
Oct 25 01:16:05 10m 30s Still Faster Than 2GD ♥ 0 This one is pretty nice! I dig the models and the animations. Since the botdogs don't seem to be able to hurt after firing, I pretended to walk up and give them a pet. The internet tells me that any game where you can pet the dog is a good game ;) One thing I'd recommend is to add a little camera shake when you take a hit, or when a nearby box explodes. Something to make it feel a little more impactful goes a long way!
Oct 25 01:27:03 10m 58s Unlock Everything ♥ 1 What a great entry! I was laughing immediately. Clever, and polished, and fun to boot! Really well done :)
Oct 25 01:46:10 19m 07s Ludum Dare Simulator ♥ 0 I love how meta this is, and on a tricky theme too. It's a fun simulator! I ran into some troubles on a 4:3 monitor, but that aside it was a real treat.
Oct 25 01:54:38 8m 28s King of Nothing ♥ 2 I love the concept of this. There's never enough rhythm games, and combining it with chess is clever! This was really fun
Oct 29 03:17:35 97h 22m Build Yourself ♥ 0 Very nice! I mistakenly hit escape and restarted the game, but other than that little hiccup I had a lot of fun with this one :)
