Apr 23 02:21:45 Zuma Defence ♥ 0 Very good Idea, I love it! I had stopped the game during the event, and it's the first one I'm playing :)! The execution is very well done and polished. I made several play, and I must confess that Zuma and Tower Defense do result in a great concept. My only complaint would be that there is too much randomness: everytime I lose, it's because I have several "useless" balls in a row. I know it's due to the nature of Zuma, but as thing cost money when they are shot, it make the game quite hard. Maybe you should try to remove less money from the player when they fail to shoot a "unit" in the queue? That way, we could more easily "skip" unwanted units :). I really love the graphics btw! Overall, a very solid entry, congrats!
Apr 23 22:14:02 19h 52m DUNK EM UP! ♥ 1 I've been eager to play this one, and I'm not disappointed! :) It's very solid entry, kudos! I like the core gameplay loop, it feels so satisfying when we "dunk" the enemies. Overall, the "Game Feel" is excellent too, with a lot of details in animation, music, zoom... Very impressive for a 48h game! The game is quite challenging though, once you loose your ball, it's very likely that you'll lose one life because an enemy will have time to go through before you get it back. Also, on my computer, there is no way to restart the game (I have to quit and relaunch it manually after a Game Over). I used the "alternative" download and i'm on W7 64 bits. Well Done!
Apr 23 22:33:05 19m 03s The Lake Of Horrors ♥ 0 Cool idea, I love the graphics and the overall mood! The game wasn't easy to understand (took me to tries to catch a fish), but once I got it I found it a bit easy, as the pirahnas are rather easy to avoid. But I had fun fishing in this lake, so congrats for your entry!
Apr 24 01:14:45 2h 41m fishing racer ♥ 1 Same here, still got the 404 error on itch - did you set the game as "Published"?
Apr 24 01:23:36 8m 51s Click Soccer ♥ 2 Congrats for your entry done in half the compo time! I like the graphics and the overall gameplay. I had a hard time figuring out how to shoot, but once I figured out that you can click on the opponent players too to "steal" the ball from them, I started scoring goal after goal! The overall mechanics is interesting, it could definitively make a fun web games with more polish and a stronger AI (for now, it's too easy to "steal" the ball from the opponent players)
Apr 24 01:32:09 8m 33s 91' Evolution Football ♥ 1 Wonderful idea, it reminds me of World Cup on NES! Like others here, I had to struggle a bit with the controls at first, but then I managed to win by beating all the opponent players before kicking the ball into their goal! The music is wonderful, and I like the overall story / mood. To improve controls, maybe you could try to have the ball follow the player (for now it follow him for a few seconds only. It forced me to use Pass a lot instead)
Apr 24 01:40:45 8m 36s Putt-Kill ♥ 1 Woaw, that's a very fun game! The golf+stealth mix is very fun to play, it's a delicate balance between precise aim / panic shot when you're detected! I really love the mood / humor too, those score screens with quotes are hilarious. I'm only asking for one thing: more levels! :) You should definitively keep working on the game. With improved graphics, some sounds, and more levels, it would make a perfect mobile game.
Apr 24 01:43:43 2m 58s Mouse Shooter Maze Invader.. Aka, Throw the cheese. ♥ 0 Hi, the game isn't working for me too. It finished the loading (the bar get completed), but then it stays on an empty screen forever. I'm using Firefox on Windows 7.
Apr 24 01:53:06 9m 23s Sunken Soldier ♥ 1 Nice concept, and wonderful execution. The audio and graphics are very polished, congrats for making them in such a short timeframe! Regarding gameplay, it's fun, but way too challenging for me! Maybe you should try to have a larger area (or smaller sharks) or that the gun recoil moves the soldier more, because for it's very difficult to avoid all those jellyfish and sharks coming at you. Oh, and it would be even better if you could start the game with "mouse click" instead of space :)
Apr 24 02:21:35 28m 29s Streets of Style ♥ 1 Woaw, this is the best entry i've played so far! It's a very good game. I Like beat'em up, so the core game was appealing to me, but when I discovered the "fan" mechanic, I was socked - it's so brilliant! It's a very creative take on two genre (beat'em up and idle game) that I would have thought to be 100% incompatible, but your game is the proof that they can be a perfect match! I have nothing to complain about, the game is fun, original, creative, has good graphics and audio, has humor (the ending is LOL) and is spot on regarding theme. It deserve to be in the compo winners!
Apr 24 02:31:34 9m 59s sequencer tower defense ♥ 1 Woaw, a very original entry! I like the sound of the music you created as the levels gets more and more complex (more enemies, but more turrets!) The building / rythm tapping mechanics works very well, and is very original too. The audio and graphics are quite polished too, I like the particles ;). P.S.: As a first time user of a "fantasy console" too (I used TIC-80 instead of PICO-8 for my entry) I'm very impressed by what you achieved in such a limited time. Congrats!
Apr 24 02:40:26 8m 52s Sweets Crumble ♥ 0 Very original idea, I love it! The music is great, and it's quite fun to try to "push" shapes where they belong. To improve the game, maybe when the player is in the "3 second to recover" mode, you should boost the throw force, like x3 or x5, so we could shake all the shape at once an try to recover. For now, I never managed to recover in the 3 seconds: if I lost all my power, it was because all the shapes I needed were buried at the bottom, so it could have been helpful to be able to have a couple of powerful "force throw" to solve this. Anyw, congrats on your entry!
Apr 24 22:16:39 19h 36m Rex McFury: Public Defender ♥ 2 Hey, for some reason the game doesn't seem to be able to complete loading on my computer (it get randomly stuck between 4%-33%). Even reloading the page several times doesn't solve the issue. I'm on W7(x64) with Firefox.
Apr 24 22:22:32 5m 53s A-Card Shooter ♥ 0 Nice idea and very polished execution, I'm impressed. The graphics and audio are very good (including shader special effect), and the overall gameplay is quite smooth. The shooter / bonus card mechanics works quite well, kudos! My only complaint: WASD is hard to use on an AZERTY keyboard, if you also bind "UP" to "Z" and "LEFT" to "Q" the game could be equally played on AZERTY and QWERTY keyboard :)
Apr 25 22:59:33 24h 37m MiniGame Racing ♥ 1 Very nice game - combining text and driving work very well, congrats! I also absolutely love the music on your entry. What did you use to create it? By-the-way, you forgot to add the "audio" rating, which is sad because the game tune is very catchy!
Apr 25 23:10:22 10m 49s Rhythm Racing ♥ 1 First of all, congrats on creating a game in Scratch during Ludum Dare. I used it too for a previous LD, and it's quite a challenge when you script goes larger it's rather tedious to edit your blocks. The game is very nice, I love the audio and graphics, and it's spot on on the theme (it's very hard to do both tasks at the same time). However, as a big fan of DDR, there are a couple of suggestion that might help you improve it: - Sometimes it's hard to see whether we got the arrow of we missed. You should had a little animation saing "perfect" or "Ok" for every arrow that was successfully hit, like the real DDR games - The song is very long, and it's hard to "keep the rythm" for several minutes. Maybe you should split it in shorter 1min-1min30 songs and do several levels. - It would be cool to add "speed meter" on the GUI, so we could now whether the car is running at full speed or not. Anyway, congrats on your entry!
Apr 25 23:19:04 8m 42s Shadowscape ♥ 1 Whoa, it's a very relaxing game, i really love the GFX and audio, congrats! You should definitively make a VR game out of this prototype, it's a perfect fit for a hardware allowing you to "move in game by moving your head in real life".
Apr 25 23:28:27 9m 23s Witchbeat ♥ 0 Oh My God - how did you manage to put so much content in 48h only! I'm very impressed but the quantity and the quality of audio and graphics assets, and also the level design, texts, and of course all the code. The game is very fun to play too, and the music is very catchy (a requirement for rythm games). I can feel your entry will rank among the LD winners (at least, it deserves it!)
Apr 26 00:26:50 58m 23s Legendary Alien Race ♥ 3 Very nice game, a cool idea well executed. It took me a a few turns to understand the role of speedud/slowdown, but once i figured out I had lot of fun during the race. I like how your are free to decided how many waypoint to add for each "turn", and some tiny details like the current rank being displayed on checkpoint, etc. To improve the game, maybe you should modify how the collision with opponents are handled: for now, they keep following their course while you are bumped. If the opponent would be bumped too, that would be more fun (and more fair), enabling the player to "crash down" on the opponent if they want. Kudos for completing a 3D game (I love the racetrack) in such a limited time!
Apr 26 00:32:39 5m 49s Carmagotchi ♥ 1 Woaw, that's a very unique mashup! And it works very well, to my suprise :)! The game is very fun to play, and I love the music and SFX, you made my day! My only complaint is that the waiting time for refueling is too long, especially when you are low on cash and cannot perform any other "garage action". Kudos for creating such an original game in one night only, it deserves one of the top spots of the "theme" category (and audio too! ;))
Apr 26 00:38:27 5m 48s Jump and Draw ♥ 1 I love the pixel art and the audio! The game is fun too, but quite challenging. Having the jump cost mana is a good idea, but it make the game incredibly difficult, especially has many card are are to "time right" to wipe the enemies (the giant ball for instance). Any it's a great idea and a cool entry, congrats!
Apr 26 00:50:19 11m 52s Farm Punch ♥ 1 Wow, the best Jam game I've played so far, it deserves a spot in the winners list! The game is incredibly polished and fun to play. It's simple to understand, but quite challenging. Of my 7 attempts, my highest score is 1101 for now! The game is almost perfect is its current state, the only "tweak" that may improve the game would maybe be a faster movement speed, but even if it feel a bit slow for now, it adds to the challenge. Oh, and I love that the rabbits fight back (and the are quite aggressive btw!) Congrats for creating such an awesome game in a limited time!
Apr 26 22:37:17 21h 46m Gender Circles ♥ 1 That's a very interesting and unique take on the theme, congrats! I really love the audio and clean graphics, and the game is simple to understand, but quite difficult to master, well done !
Apr 26 22:45:20 8m 03s SSSS ♥ 1 Woaw, the game is very beautiful, congrats on pulling so rich pixel art in the limited time frame! I love the music too! The game itself is interesting too (it reminds of FTL), but it take some time to learn how to play. I guess it could have been easier to understand if you added some "text tooltip" over ever icon :). Congrats on the though, it really has the potential to get pushed into a full fledged game!
Apr 26 23:02:45 17m 25s Shutin ♥ 1 This game has the best atmosphere / mood I've seen. I love the graphics style, I don't how you achieved such beautiful "painting" effect. The sound are great too, and it's a very immersive experience. Your take on the theme is very original too, the horror of daily routine. Congrats on your entry!
Apr 26 23:16:42 13m 57s Xenoperil: You Must Survive ♥ 3 Wow, that's a very clever "streamlining" effort of the survival genre. I like how the game is very easy to understand even without any text. The mood is excellent, so are the graphics and the audio, and the game deliver a very entertaining experience. I feel that water is waiting depleting a bit too fast when hunting, especially as it's very slow to drink even with a upgraded scooping tool, but I'm just nitpicking here. Congrats for your great game!
Apr 26 23:31:38 14m 56s Stealth Cooking ♥ 0 Very nice game, and quite challenging. It took me a while to complete it (that is very good at his job!). I love the "light / shadow" effect, it's very well done. I've noticed a small bug: When you hold down "walk" toward the fridge and push "E", the character will keep on walking (and making noise) while he's seeking an item in the fridge. Overall, I had a lot of fun completing the game, congrats!
Apr 26 23:36:12 4m 34s Restructive ♥ 1 The graphics and audio are wonderful, it's really cute, congrats! The game itself is also very interesting, I was very surprised by the twist destroy / then rebuild, it's very unique! You should complete this game and add an ending, because it's the cutest entry I've played so far ! :)
Apr 26 23:45:38 9m 26s I am Tree ♥ 1 A very unique take on the theme, I love it! The game is quite challenging, it took me a lot of tries before being able to grow a very large tree. The fire is annoying, but the chainsaw machine are even more deadly! I love the humor of the game too. Congrats on this relaxing yet challenging entry!
Apr 27 00:15:03 29m 25s Dropzone Mars ♥ 1 Woaw, this game is OUTSTANDING! I was a bit confused at first, but then I understood how to play, and I had fun for about 20 minutes (reached level 5, and level 4 was very difficult as I had only one remaining outpost to build the whole city!). This is a really polished and entertaining arcade game, and the city building elements blends quite well with the shooter. The art and music are beautiful too, resulting in the most fun / best gameplay game I've played so far! Congrats!
Apr 27 02:19:18 2h 04m Flappy Blocks ♥ 1 Woaw, I feel this is the best LD entry :)! Not only the idea is brilliant and perfectly executed, but the game is also humorous. Gameplay-wise, it's has infuriating as Flappy Bird while being as captivating as Tetris. It's the perfect LD entry, congrats!
Apr 27 02:55:24 36m 06s Cyclevania ♥ 1 One of the funniest mash-up I've seen, it's a very cool idea! The game plays quite well too :)! Maybe instead of shooting, the biker could have used a whip to push the idea even further? :)
Apr 27 03:00:17 4m 53s Rhythm and Cruise ♥ 1 Oh I love those Pico-8 or TIC-80 games! :) Your entry is very cool and well done, i love the music and art, but the gameplay is very challenging (very hard to focux on both sides!). Well done! :)
Apr 28 23:53:38 44h 53m Paddle Pals ♥ 0 Woaw, I'm impressed by such an original and polished game! It looks like an actual SNES game, congrats! The genre mashup works very well, and the level design is superb (so are the graphics and music, but that was obvious from the screenshots ;)). What tool / framework did you use to code it? Pure Javascript?
May 2 01:33:15 73h 39m Super Mario Machine Gun ♥ 0 A really odd idea that actually turn quite well! :) The Mario engine was wonderful recreated in the game (in Pico-8, congrats!), and the fact that you can use a machinegun inside this cartoony world is very unique! My only complaint with the game is that the camera makes it very hard to avoid enemies. I know you can't zoom out (Pico-8!) but you should at least make the camera not centered on mario, but putting him in the left or right side of the screen depending on the direction the player is facing. That way, we could better see the "hazards lying ahead". Also, the ammo is way to limited :p Congrats for your entry!
May 2 22:36:39 21h 03m TSnake ♥ 0 Excellent idea! Snake games are usually easy, but this one is quite hard! :)
May 2 22:42:05 5m 26s BIRKANOID ♥ 1 Oh my god, this a really impressive entry! I'm impressed by all the content you made, and the level of polish, in such a limited time frame. I was a first time TIC-80 user too, but my game is nowhere as good as yours! The game is very fun, I love the different levels, and it's a good balance between arcade and strategic choices. Congrats on this wonderful entry!
May 2 23:51:19 1h 09m Rythm is Lava ♥ 1 Simple idea, but a very polished and entertaining game! I love how the difficult increases quite fast, and it's very though to beat the game (why does those avatar keeps on going back to the previous level that was so hard to beat!) Congrats on this excellent entry!
