| Dec 4 10:45:33 | Worth the Weight | ♥ 0 | Besides a sometimes glithcy jump - this is a neat game! Reminds of games from another time - someone further up compared the graphics to N64 era games, and I agree but it's not only the visuals also how the game handles controls and physics are very old school, very charming. :) All it's missing is a chunky chiptune and some actually puzzling level-design. | |
| Dec 4 11:08:02 | 22m 29s | - - - | ♥ 1 | This was a cool narrative with lots of inside jokes, I dug. Best part of your work is the mood which get's created soley due to the level-design and flow. I somehow feel like this title may even profit from the lack of music and definetively from the lack of puzzles. Great Job! My biggest complaints would be the HUGE file size - I don't now what's bloating that so much, because just the graphics and the unity-scene files shouldn't reach > 40 MB. Also just have a heart and hit the build-button for our fellow Linux-Users. If you're already using unity it just takes a couple of minutes of building and uploading. Also, fiddling a bit with the lighting could really improve the visuals. |
| Dec 4 11:24:24 | 16m 22s | Hydronaut | ♥ 2 | Hey man, I enjoyed playing your game. The visuals and the audio set a nice mood. The amount of polish is great! But alas I suck at the game, after around 5 minutes of play I still am stuck at a Highscore of 15 :( Still I've got nothing to criticize but maybe the connection to the theme? |
| Dec 4 11:43:37 | 19m 13s | BURROWED TIME | ♥ 1 | Dude, pretty sweet. I felt a bit lost with the difficult/time selection wheel and the starting weapon being THAT weak kinda made me confused if the enemies are even able to die - after unlocking the triuzi I had a lot of fun with the game. It's pretty enticing to make progression through unlocking more weapons. Connecting time to difficulty modifier was a nice twist on the theme. Also stellar graphics and good sound-design. Impressive work, especially as compo entry. Cheers! |
| Dec 4 12:01:59 | 18m 22s | Project MADNESS | ♥ 1 | Hey, I like the style of game you were going with. And I started out really liking the game, unfortunately the line of humor wasn't much of my taste and by day 4 the gameplay got pretty repetitive and stale. I liked the graphics and the animations were dope. |
| Dec 4 12:24:02 | 22m 03s | Bonding Bad | ♥ 1 | This is a pretty dope puzzler. I liked the easy pace you got the player into the game. The visuals have a nice clean look and the audio does it's thing. I've spent some time on the game and got to the part of forming a square - due to sleep depreciation it just wrung out my brain the wrong way - but I'm sure to get back to it at a later time. Great Work! |
| Dec 4 12:43:44 | 19m 42s | you are the coin master | ♥ 1 | My dude, creating this in 3 hours is really a sign of your experience. I had a great time with this. At first I dug the pixels but thought it was a little boring, but the heavy distortion with additional coins made this really great. The visuals, the audio and leveldesign really tie this up to a solid package. Only grievance was that I sometimes glitched through solid blocks (?) |
| Dec 4 12:55:55 | 12m 11s | A Walk To The Finish Line | ♥ 2 | Hey man, I liked your entry - played to the elevator-level which I thought was pretty clever. When people do good puzzledesign i'm always in awe. :) |
| Dec 4 13:13:04 | 17m 09s | To The Depths | ♥ 1 | Great art and good audio. The animations and enemy designs are really solid especially for a gamejam. The game not starting in fullscreen and locking the mouse inside was a bit annoying coupled with it's tendency to crash, when alt-tabbing and after dieing once and restarting I couldn't open the inital door again (?). However I liked the classic gameplay and the mood of the title is really it's trong suit. |
| Dec 4 13:34:46 | 21m 42s | Sofra | ♥ 1 | Sweet graphics and a solid gameplay idea very inline with the theme. Great work! Although playing on normal feels almost impossible. (talking angry hungry hawk here) |
| Dec 4 14:00:14 | 25m 28s | Greedy Dungeon | ♥ 2 | Nice Graphics and stellar animations. I dig the design of the enemies especially, but being unable to control the direction of the hit makes this really hard to play and kinda unenjoyable -> also I dont really get how to remove infront of the chest? I WANT THAT SWEET LOOT G'DAMMIT |
| Dec 4 14:11:25 | 11m 11s | Mizu | ♥ 1 | Hey man, sweet game. I really like how you designed basically oldschool mario levels around the water mechanic. It's quite a feet to pull of this level of coherency. Also sweet tilesets - although I feel your maincharacter would have profited from lighter outlines. |
| Dec 4 14:29:50 | 18m 25s | Snake Force | ♥ 2 | This will probably be THE best game I played in the event. Honestly its hard for me to imagine a game having a better impression on me than your work. Missing sounds are obviously a bummer but everything else is just stellar. If you're going to continue work on this and maybe push it to steam or sth some day - I'd be definetly interested - so do you have a newsletter to sign up to, or maybe a blog to to subscribe to? I'd be on board immediately. |
| Dec 4 19:12:12 | 4h 42m | Slightly annoying traffic | ♥ 1 | Hey, pretty cool game. The simplicity is great and the game can get hectic pretty fast. Ofcourse seeing everything go ham after you lost is probably the best thing! :D |
| Dec 4 19:20:14 | 8m 02s | ImpScape | ♥ 1 | Hey, I played the game for a bit. It seems quite fun and I'm a fan of shrinking the players viewcone, however I seemed to not be able to make the attack work and got slaughtered by demons after opening my first door. The visual effects are pretty damn cool though! |
| Dec 4 19:38:10 | 17m 56s | Confusing Blade Hunter | ♥ 1 | Yep, the game is definitely hard as bricks as your pretty much are confronted with what feels like pixelperfect jumps from the very getgo. The ability to place checkpoints is a real saving grace though, because jumping over the spikes can get frustrating pretty quickly - > also some bees seem to have a little too much health. I was at a point when I wanted to try a hard jump and had to constantly spend time on hammering the space-key to get rid of incoming bees. However despite the lack of audio the game feels pretty polished and somehow the visuals seem to be inline with this being a difficult plattformer. Cool game! |
| Dec 4 19:47:51 | 9m 41s | Charge Arena | ♥ 2 | Hey man, I like your visuals and the game being a frantic arena shooter. Although I also had trouble steering my ship. This could work pretty good as a local multiplayer kind of thing. Also it needs a trippy chiptune. You know, to get energized. :) |
| Dec 4 19:58:42 | 10m 51s | Be Yourself | ♥ 1 | I dig the concept, but I had troubles with the game, because my screensize is too small for it, so I had to react very fast to incoming balls. The neat characters are obviously the strong suit of the game and the audio puts stress on the player. |
| Dec 4 20:36:14 | 37m 32s | Permanence | ♥ 1 | I actually followed through and pulled me a shot of whiskey everytime the game asked me too, and boy did I need it... heavy stuff. |
| Dec 4 21:07:18 | 31m 04s | Magus O-Minus | ♥ 1 | I wanted to write: "MUHAHAHA, these sorry little enemies! Dont they know they are but kettle to me?! Kettle to feed my friends and family... and random villagers I picked up.." Buuut entering the dungeon level the enemies promptly handed me my ass. (Also big kudos to the soundtrack - it's beautiful) |
| Dec 4 21:23:21 | 16m 03s | Catch the bomb | ♥ 1 | I kinda miss being able to hit diagonal tiles and being able to zoom out would be pretty nice too. Although I havent progressed much because I had to place a flag on almost every tile in my starting area - I really dig that you chose minesweeper to modernize - that earns you a <3 |
| Dec 5 09:05:33 | 11h 42m | Crawl Control | ♥ 1 | Those sweet, sweet jumping animations. :) |
| Dec 5 16:07:01 | 7h 01m | MiniDom (2-6 Player game) | ♥ 1 | Yo man, we talked in grizeldis chat a little - now I sat down with my girlfriend and played a round. The Icons not being explained was a real bummer though - because it's hard to figure stuff out in games like this - for example even in the end I do not know what the crown card did for me, even though it was kinda expensive. Also the cards in the shop were too expensive for the limited starter deck and being able to skip buying cards really goes against the idea for your deck growing and thus *it becoming worse*. In our case I bought gold early and thus could try out some different cards, while my partner just spammed swords til I was dead without really buying anything. A better way could be to make all cards bad for you with the poison and discard mechanics and have the cost range from 0 to 3. 0 for cards with just downsides, 1~2 for cards with up- AND downsides and 3~4 for cards with just upsides, so you can force the players to always buy a card, thus the deck keeps growing and getting worse. Maybe even have some cards add multiple copies of themself into the deck, because you don't have to adhere to the same limits actual card games have to follow, being digital and all. I think the simple pixel optic suits the game just fine, although it would be nice if you added some pixelated houses or characters to the card to give each individual card more character. Still good entry. :) |
| Dec 5 16:42:50 | 35m 49s | Zealot | ♥ 0 | Nice art and theme - but really good work on comming up with the game mechanics. The game really is quite clever, but this game missing local multiplayer seems like an really obvious oversight? Also 32 second AI turns are a slog! |
| Dec 6 11:25:27 | 18h 42m | The Terry Pebble Show - An Awful Day Time TV Simulator | ♥ 2 | Hey man, this is a great idea for a jam game. I liked the visuals - the zoom in and out of terrys faces are really cool. The voiceovers were pretty fun too, however the pacing may be a little off, if you'd consider it outside of the scope of a gamejam. The gameplay felt random and I didn't feel like I got cues on how to react best to score high. Also the humor wasn't really my cup of tea - however if you rate some more games to get people to your page, you'll probably will have guys here who genuinely enjoy the jokes you went with. :) |
| Dec 6 11:39:26 | 13m 59s | Mushroom Délicieux | ♥ 1 | Hey hey, I've played a couple of pico8 games now and they all share nice visuals, animations and sound. Seems to me as if the engine is a stellar choice for gamejams. Good work on the game! I was pretty confused in what I was doing, but I got to lvl 5/7 and that left me feeling good about myself - thanks for that! :P |
| Dec 6 11:56:50 | 17m 24s | Embol | ♥ 2 | Nice proof of concept - the artstyle was pretty and the characters face moving in the direction of the mouse was a nice subtle way to get more life in to the scenes. I encountered some game ending bugs, when I was spamming just all the errs and uhms into every sentence - because at some point I had no bubbles anymore no matter how often I changed maps. The artstyle remembered me of the old dark newgrounds cartoons like saladfingers - so that's definetly a plus in my book! Good work! |
| Dec 6 12:10:41 | 13m 51s | Office Robber | ♥ 0 | Hey Guys, you may consider flagging your download as a windows download instead of Source - because I was hesistant at first to download, because I thought I would dl your workfolder instead of a simple unity executable. Sad that the gameplay fell short because the art is pretty sweet and the music also nice. I hope you guys are going to join the next ludum dare to push out something in a similar visual quality but with an as amazing game attached to it. :) Cheers! |
