Aug 31 00:38:00 On Fire A fun and twisted game! The camera doesn't go far enough to see what's next, but the gameplay was fun, the music and sound effects work really well.
Good job!
Aug 31 01:30:00 52m 00s Cave Escape Like the idea with the cellphone as the flashlight and as a sort of timer. The atmosphere was good and the game conveyed a feeling of being trapped in a dark maze very well. It might have helped to have some variation in the walls.
Sep 3 00:19:00 70h 49m The Operator This was a surprisingly fun game for something so realistic. Losing my job on the third day sucked, but I'll go back to being a simple office clerk. :)
Sep 3 01:13:00 54m 00s MOTHERSHIP Fun game, even if it isn't what I usually play. The graphics were pretty. The gameplay was easy to understand once I started playing.
I think I accidently demolished part of the ship, but I'm not sure what happened. It wasn't clear to me what happened. The numbers were hard to read, but that may have been because I was playing it as windowed, rather that full screen.
I do think giving the crew names would be a nice touch for future versions. :D
Good job!
Sep 3 03:04:00 1h 51m Kvetch-A-Sketch This is an awesome game, please let us know where you end up posting this game! I had trouble with the physics, but I would love to see your progress.
Sep 6 23:39:00 92h 35m The Switch - Worker The game was fun and easy to pick up. Only suggestion I that have is that having the lights blink might make it easier. Good job overall!
Sep 7 00:17:00 38m 00s Ancient Orb Really good! I liked the game mechanics and how you did the animation for going back to a save point. Cool game, good job!
Sep 7 01:02:00 45m 00s Through The Fire This game is a mixed bag. The graphics are great and this had a good design. The game controls, however, are not great. You have to click on enemies, but it doesn't always work. Clicking on enemies also makes you move in that direction. Since movement is not graceful, moving while clicking enemies is a problem. I felt like I was fighting the game the entire time.
Sep 7 01:36:00 34m 00s Heat Ray Defense Cool game, the controls were awkward. It would be easier if you could select the mirrors by clicking on the beams or you could see which mirror was selected. Other than that the game was really fun and I like the humor.
Sep 7 02:10:00 34m 00s The Sleeper I liked this game. The monster made of blades and nightmares was fun and scary. The game music was excellent and thematic. The controls were a little difficult, but they didn't prevent me from enjoying the game.
Sep 7 02:36:00 26m 00s Mysterious Expedition The game had some cool ideas, but they conflicted with each other. The short turn duration combined with the multiple steps required to take an action made this hard to play. Also, requiring that the player select a character also made things made it difficult if the characters were overlapping. I do appreciate that complexity of the mechanics and I actually liked the part where your characters get tossed around. Good job doing this in such a short time!
Sep 7 03:04:00 28m 00s Write Only Difficult to download from Gamejolt (download never actually worked). The game itself was fun. The music was good and thematic. The graphics were fun. The level design was also good, with plenty of cover. Having to aim to fire, which lowered your speed, was an interesting mechanic. It worked when there was one or two enemies, but became almost impossible with more. I ended up just running around to the end. It worked!
Sep 9 23:59:00 68h 55m Flamebearer This was a fun game and surprisingly polished for a compo entry. The music was thematic and the sound effects were good. The snow effect in the background also was an excellent visual effect that added both to the theme and sense of speed. Controls were responsive and intuitive.
Sep 10 01:07:00 1h 08m Heat Up! Great job! I really enjoyed this game, the only issue I had is that it would have helped to have some idea which mirror was currently selected. I really liked the pacing, which allowed for coming up with a strategy and adjusting as needed.
Sep 10 02:35:00 1h 28m Apalis This game looked and sounded really good. I generally liked it, however there were some things that made the game a bit more difficult than necessary. A death animation would help, quite a few of the times I died because I had died and respawned before I could react to my first death. Some of the obstacles were introduced a bit abruptly and the spikes were not easy to see. The last level was a bit overloaded with obstacles, especially that middle platform.
Overall, good job!
Sep 10 03:10:00 35m 00s The Last Blacksmith This was an okay game, but it was so close to being an awesome game. The graphics were fun and well used. The sounds were also fun as was the music. The basic game mechanics were well executed.

The problem was the awkward and confusing controls. To get a weapon to an ally you have to 1) mine with left mouse, 2) pick up ore with right mouse, 3) walk ore to the smelter or throw ore with right mouse, 4)pick up metal with right mouse, 5) set the correct number with left mouse, 6) forge with space, 7) pick up the item with right mouse, and 8) bring the item to an ally.

The number of steps is fine! The problem is having to switch back and forth between the mouse buttons. I don't think it added anything and really only got in the way. Making everything use the same mouse button, or make certain actions happen automatically would have gone a long way to making the game a ton of fun.
Sep 10 03:30:00 20m 00s Ig-Knight I enjoyed this game overall, the visuals were very pretty and the game mechanics were generally fun. The music was good. The feedback for the loss of health was a bit ambiguous and a bit punitive, since it made it much harder to play when I lost visibility. I did like the approach to scoring, I haven't come across a game that took away your score when you died before.
Sep 14 00:11:00 92h 41m Hippie Horde You shoot hippies with a cannon. The game is simple but feels complete. It was hard to shoot the targets more than half a screen away.
Sep 14 01:38:00 1h 27m Fallen into time I couldn't get passed the yellow pipes either, the jumps needs to be larger or maybe add double jump? The graphics and sound were nice, although the music got a bit repetitive.
Sep 14 01:55:00 17m 00s Curious Dinos I liked it. The visuals were fantastic. The art was very reminiscent of Samurai Jack, and well executed. The sound effects were great too. The music was a little repetitive. Overall, I enjoyed the game so much, I played it twice.
Sep 14 02:51:00 56m 00s CaveKillers I couldn't really play this, it was way too jumpy. Also, the mouse movement didn't allow for up and down, which was a bit odd. Also, it might have been nice to click through the intro portion.
Sep 14 03:31:00 40m 00s Dr. Sauce I liked the idea of the game in theory better than in practice. The game was fast paced but annoying rather than hectic. Blowing on the cartridge didn't always seem to work properly, which may have been a design choice?
Sep 16 23:42:00 68h 11m Little Village I was not a fan of the controls and it wasn't clear what the rate of food use was. Otherwise, it is a good start! Good job on doing a compo entry on the first try!
Sep 17 00:02:00 20m 00s Sailing The Sea This game has potential but falls short. Fortunately, a few bug fixes and this probably could be fun. First, there was no music or sound effects, but our game didn't either, so don't feel too bad. The biggest issue was that it seemed like the whirlpools were bugged. The whirpools are one of two hazards. The whirlpool graphic comes and goes, but it is constantly dangerous. This prevented you from progressing very far as the only sea channel big enough to pass through you has a whirlpool blocking the entire path.

The other issue is the hit boxes/colliders for everything. They were too big. In particular, the ship collider was a box that covered the entire ship, including the sails. It would be nice if the ship collider was only the ship portion.

As for the main gimmick of using the map to navigate, it seemed unnecessary since I always knew which way to go. If there was a way to change the main maps orientation, you could force the player to refer to the star map to navigate.
Sep 17 00:38:00 36m 00s WinDoors Actually, a pretty good game! It needs more content, but there's only so much you can do for a compo. The existing content was funny. One nitpick: some indication of when you have successfully repaired the computer would have been nice.
Sep 17 01:25:00 47m 00s Very Important Fire First of all, good job on doing a compo! The artwork and sound effects were cute, but suddenly having to kill one of the humans was a bit off-putting and came out of nowhere. Also, the fire-starting respawn, while interesting did not always display, sometimes the screen was just white.
Sep 17 02:24:00 59m 00s Lindisfarne Fun game! You're right about the hit boxes, they were a bit funky, but not too bad. The sound effects need some variety, but I'm glad there was any sort of sound. Music would be nice too.

My biggest complaint was not knowing when to back off of enemies as they were about to attack. Some sort of indication of imminent attack would have given a good back and forth in combat.
Sep 17 02:41:00 17m 00s The Last Heir: Reclaiming Lands I like the look of this, even though it seems that this game can be played.
Sep 17 02:47:00 6m 00s Amoss vs The Slime King: Rescue the Solar Clock Very cute game! Good job! It would have helped to know that there was a double jump and the slime king at the end having the ability to fire at you was kind of a surprise, since no other character could fire at you. Otherwise, I liked the color coded enemies with different behavoirs and the overall look of the game.
Sep 17 21:16:00 18h 29m Clocks Cool idea for a platformer, I really like your approach. I didn't mind waiting to see if there was a solution that would present itself. The music was tad on the repetitive side, but otherwise good job!
Sep 19 02:30:00 29h 14m Second Chance The story was intriguing, I wasn't able to really play though because I didn't have any gold. It's a good start!
Sep 19 02:38:00 8m 00s Catapult I like the music and the backstory here, but I couldn't figure out how/when I could move the catapult. Also, I did run into some issues with the stability. It's a good start though!
Sep 19 02:45:00 7m 00s TOS Legends I like the style of this game, that really stood out. It was difficult to tell where you were going sometimes, especially when you where going down. Neat game!
