Apr 28 03:55:00 Anterraria As with awanegenebayo, I get the error "Could not find the main class: net.lsrp.ld29.Game. Program will exit."... :(
Apr 28 04:26:00 31m 00s Divernaut Here's some of my notes I wrote while playing: I liked the background story thingy in the start, and as an RPG guy, I enjoyed the occasional radio messages (although the one that appears when you enter the giant crab cave disappeared in a second and I couldn't read it...). The graphics are decent; at first, I didn't enjoy the look, but as I played, it kind of grew on me and felt quite nice actually. The combination of top-down and sidescroller was a cool addition, kind of reminded me of old Zelda games. The jumping physics really make you feel like you're underwater! For a game made under 48 hours, there's TONS of area to cover, which is amazing. <br/> <br/>Lack of music and sound effects (there was a few, though) were probably the biggest downsides. I felt that the green missiles were a bit overused, and while they weren't a real threat in any part of the game, they made me feel stressed out throughout the game. To further increase the feeling of being underwater, a blue-ish hue all over the screen would have been a nice addition..? <br/> <br/>All in all, I enjoyed playing Divernaut. The looks and sounds are not that polished, but it felt and played very well. Good job overall!
Apr 28 04:30:00 4m 00s Alamogordo I can run the game, but nothing happens, no matter what buttons I smash..?
Apr 28 04:31:00 1m 00s Advanced Cave Crawler Could you provide binaries? :)
Apr 28 04:35:00 4m 00s Flash's Cash Cool idea you've got there! The controls felt a bit "off", though. The various mechanics (electricity, buttons, boxes etc.) were a nice addition. Nice job. :)
Apr 28 04:38:00 3m 00s Frozen Solid While trying to run the Windows version, I get an error: "File 'main.py', line 13: if not pygame.font: print 'Warning, fonts disabled' SyntaxError: invalid syntax" and there's a little arrow pointing to the "'" after the world 'disabled'. Hope this helps.
Apr 28 04:48:00 10m 00s The Tree As already mentioned, the theme is not that clear in the game, but what the heck. The concept is quite nice, although I got a bit frustrated ramming into the turrets and waiting for the robot to heal. Music would've been nice as well. The font you used was really straining my eyes, and overall the graphics "flickered" somewhat, probably due to nearest neighbor filtering and slightly scaled textures..?
Apr 28 04:50:00 2m 00s Do Not Drown The "Press the Button To Try And Not Die"-button does not work. :/
Apr 28 04:52:00 2m 00s Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick I don't know what to say :D The controls were a bit iffy. The game is... absurd, is that the right word? Let's go with absurd. I liked the doodle-y graphics, though. :)
Apr 28 04:57:00 5m 00s DownDown At first, I thought I understood the game, but as I progressed, I found that I didn't. The sound effects were waaay too loud compared to the music. Also, I tried playing it on Chrome, but the "CLICK to start" didn't work there. Firefox handled it well, though. :)
Apr 28 05:07:00 10m 00s The Mine This is amazing, although probably more of a toy than a game. :) <br/> <br/>If you intend to continue on this, please add some goals, and maybe a possibility to group miners like in RTS games.
Apr 28 05:10:00 3m 00s Suck My Dig! The digging mechanic was pretty cool! Other than that, the game was really short... And it could've used some audio. :)
Apr 28 05:14:00 4m 00s Ray Hey Hey The wiener is you! Nice job, although I had hard time aiming...
Apr 28 05:37:00 23m 00s Subspace I got frustrated pretty quickly while browsing the crypt. Also, I didn't really understand the function of the subspace mechanic...
Apr 28 05:41:00 4m 00s UNDER Really cool pixel art here! Given your really short time frame, it's solid work (but don't go left from the start!). Could have used some audio, though. :)
Apr 28 05:48:00 7m 00s Aquifer As already mentioned, the concept was pretty hard to grasp at first, but after I got it, it was actually quite nice. Would probably work on mobile platforms with some slight changes. :)
Apr 28 05:51:00 3m 00s The Sandbox Extremely difficult, but also a very original concept!
Apr 28 05:57:00 6m 00s Vertico Solid! It's been a while since I played a game with this kind of orientation (probably the last one was Solstice on NES), so it got me a while before I was able to navigate. Cool concept!
Apr 28 06:20:00 23m 00s Captain John's Buried Treasures First off, the game crashes if you flood bombs! Other than that, nice game. The theme is not that clearly visible in this one, though. Audio is fine, and graphics are good enough. Solid. :)
Apr 28 06:24:00 4m 00s Above and Beyond Pretty original take on the theme there! The graphics are nice and minimalistic, which I liked. I didn't really understand if there's differences between love, music and nature or if I should sometimes use one instead of the other, but all of them seemed to repel depression so... I'm not depressed after this one. :)
Apr 28 06:30:00 6m 00s The Secrets Beneath [v1.4] I love the overkill choice of engine! The looks are awesome. :)
Apr 28 06:35:00 5m 00s It goes on I enjoy computer trading card games (Hearthstone, anyone?), and I found this game interesting. However, I couldn't completely figure out how this game works. I placed some cards, beat some red thingies (?)... This probably could use a tutorial or extensive instructions. :)
Apr 28 06:41:00 6m 00s 4-Dimensional Design Studio Cool puzzle game, really enjoyed the concept! For those who can't run this on Chrome, try another browser instead. Every Unity game so far has not responded to input on Chrome, but they all have worked on Firefox. :)
Apr 28 06:46:00 5m 00s Nith the Surface When trying to launch the game, it gives me an error: "Could not find the main class: ca.cognizantgames.desktop.DesktopLauncher. Program will exit."
Apr 28 06:48:00 2m 00s Wriggle Worm Solid, simple game. Although, I didn't really see the theme here? Are they underwater..?
Apr 28 06:54:00 6m 00s Cave Survival Awesome! I really enjoyed blasting the living crap out of those bats. :D
Apr 28 06:56:00 2m 00s Undercover "Could not find the main class: Starter. Program will exit." I get this error when trying to launch the game...
Apr 28 06:58:00 2m 00s Flood Trap As already mentioned, the first room to the east is broken. Other than that, an interesting approach to the theme. :)
Apr 28 07:01:00 3m 00s Gravedigger Great concept here! Solid work. :)
Apr 28 07:03:00 2m 00s Lebesgue This was... absurd. I loved it throughout, even though I had no idea what to do. :)
Apr 28 07:12:00 9m 00s Black Box Quest I enjoyed this throughout the game. The choice of the lighting engine was nice, and the controls felt good. Solid! :)
Apr 28 07:30:00 18m 00s Bornard What? I mean... WHAT? This could easily give nightmares! Awesome work, really weird and cool. :)
Apr 28 07:33:00 3m 00s spelunker Couldn't judge the audio because of the virus warning thing, I had to play the no-sound version. Anyway, it's a nice start, although the platformer physics are pretty "linear", so to say. Keep up the good work, though! :)
Apr 28 07:36:00 3m 00s Return To The Surface I get "Error: Could not find or load main class LD29-Return To The Surface.jar" when trying to launch.
Apr 28 07:40:00 4m 00s Drillo - The Happy Driller Solid work! It's a small, simple game, but polished. I like that. :)
Apr 28 07:44:00 4m 00s The Dark Side of the Cube Cool concept! However, you should hide the mouse cursor, as if it goes outside the window, it'll unfocus the game when you try to throw a ball. <br/> <br/>It's rather cool atmosphere when you start reaching higher and higher, glowing cubes rising slowly... :)
Apr 28 07:47:00 3m 00s SWIM HARD A fun approach to the theme there! The switching keys is an awesome catch, I can imagine playing this with friends and frustratingly pushing others away while trying to reach the keys. :)
Apr 28 07:53:00 6m 00s Inside Look Activity Book Not technically a game, but... It was quite original, I have to admit. :p
Apr 28 07:58:00 5m 00s Surface Tension Very nice little game! I'd love to play this on my phone, would control nicely as only a single touch would be needed. :)
Apr 28 08:01:00 3m 00s Hot Diggity This is awesome! Although, I got stuck after installing a coolant system... Really solid work. I really like the modular design of the drill, making it all sorts of wonky when things are added. Props! :D
Apr 28 09:48:00 1h 47m Skeleton Invasion This was pretty nice, although a bit too easy. :)
Apr 28 09:57:00 9m 00s SurfaZ I was wondering... Why QZSD instead of WSAD?
Apr 28 09:59:00 2m 00s Some People Nicely done, I like the "duality" of this game and the interpretation of the theme. The audio was REALLY loud, though!
Apr 28 10:04:00 5m 00s Not your Average Mining Emulator Could have used some audio... Other than that, a really nice ultra-light-weight Terraria-esque sandbox. :)
Apr 28 12:24:00 2h 20m AntiMine 3000 Nice work! At first, I didn't really get what to do (I thought I had to control the miners), but after a while I got the hang of it. Commence slaughter!
Apr 28 12:27:00 3m 00s Fortune Miner Congrats on your first entry :) I had hard time figuring out what to do...
Apr 28 12:46:00 19m 00s Deep Blue Home This was really great, probably the best so far! It wasn't too short, actually it was surprisingly long for a game made in 48 hours. Solid work throughout, I liked the atmospheric music, the sound effects were good, graphics were nice... Heck, there was no single thing I didn't like! <br/> <br/>The puzzles required quite a bit of coordination, and usually lasers re-enabled themselves half a second after I passed them. It's not a bad thing, though; the frequent save points made it pleasant to fail and try again. :)
Apr 28 12:51:00 5m 00s The Alien Miner Nice work there. :) Could have used some "real" objectives, but I had fun digging around and then trying to get back to the shop as I had digged all the ground surrounding it... Duh. :P
Apr 28 12:55:00 4m 00s Mia and the Mole Nice, smooth lil' game. I liked the interpretation of the theme. :)
Apr 28 12:59:00 4m 00s Balancitos That was awesome! The sounds reminded me of Rayman. I almost screamed at the people on the island: "NOOO, you idiots! Don't go there!!!"
Apr 28 13:03:00 4m 00s AcidWorm Cool visuals! The game's incredibly difficult, though. :)
Apr 28 13:09:00 6m 00s Yumbugs Awesome work! The graphics and the handling was cool, and the whole concept is really original. The sounds were a tad off, but not that much. Solid work throughout! <br/> <br/>PS, nice to see another guy from Finland here!
Apr 29 05:56:00 16h 47m Down This was awesome, I liked the atmosphere. The music was awesome, reminded me of gnomish music from WoW. The graphics were nice, although animations would've been appreciated. There's also some bugs: I was able to levitate in multiple places by holding space down, and I had to stop playing because when going to a room, the player character never appeared on the screen. <br/> <br/>Keep up the good work! :)
Apr 29 06:11:00 15m 00s Frack You Nice job! I enjoyed the concept, however I didn't really understand what's the idea with the rotating world..? Plus, it's a bit too easy, as I can just scatter the unfitting pipes all around the map. :)
Apr 29 06:26:00 15m 00s Beneeth a steel sandbox Cool concept, now for some game content. :)
Apr 29 06:32:00 6m 00s [Work in Progress] Pretty cool concept! However, I couldn't figure out how to press the red button in the second room...
Apr 29 06:35:00 3m 00s Holy Diver Got 600 points... Baaah! Nice work there, it's a pretty difficult game though. The sounds were nice and graphics looked good. :)
Apr 29 06:37:00 2m 00s Wolfy Blast I liked this a lot, the simple graphics are nice and the controls are smooth. It's pretty difficult, though, had trouble getting very far. :)
Apr 29 06:42:00 5m 00s Cave Dude Reminded me of the old Lolo games on NES, which is a good thing. :) I liked this, although there doesn't seem to be a way to restart a level..? Now it's "one mistake and you're done!" kind of thing...
Apr 29 06:43:00 1m 00s Cap'n Dragon I have XNA installed, but the game crashes right when I try to start it...
Apr 29 06:46:00 3m 00s AliPan Space Miner Nice concept, however the controls were a bit off. Mining sideways was problematic, it took me five or six times longer to mine a block sideways than it did mining straight down...
Apr 29 06:51:00 5m 00s Curse in the Depths Could've used some audio. :) Graphics were quite good. The enemies stopped spawning when I just boosted my way to the right for a while. Also, if the energy meter reaches 100%, the cooldown graphic is not visible until it reaches 0% again.
Apr 29 06:59:00 8m 00s Dig Up! This was a nice little sandboxer. I liked the graphics and the animations of the tank. I drilled around for a while, but couldn't find any gold, though... :(
Apr 29 07:02:00 3m 00s Membrane Cool concept, although the controls were extremely frustrating... Couldn't get all the orbs. :/
Apr 29 07:06:00 4m 00s Questionable Submarine I liked this :) It was pretty chaotic at times, but it was quite fun. I liked how the different things required different controls, air pump was probably my favorite!
Apr 29 07:10:00 4m 00s The Eggventure of Mad Mr Gregg! Great interpretation of the theme, plus, I liked the way you had to change between the two forms to complete. Some parts were really difficult though, requiring really fast swapping, but still, it was nice to play it. Good job!
Apr 29 07:13:00 3m 00s It Came From... Beneath!! Pretty fun :) Would probably work on mobile with some slight alterations and additions!
Apr 29 07:16:00 3m 00s Nether This was really cool! The animations and the switching mechanism were really sweet. The only thing I came up with that could make it better was if I could see a bit more of the level at once - it'd make the puzzling a little bit easier. Anyhoo, solid work throughout, good job!
Apr 29 11:31:00 4h 15m Damned Scouts! Everything about this is really cool! I liked the humor all the way, nice "Happy Tree Friends"-esque deaths. Good job! :)
Apr 29 11:36:00 5m 00s Underground Minions Nice take on the theme, reminded me of Lemmings games. The interface was kind of messy, though, and it was really difficult to see what the actions were about. Keep working on this, though, this oughta be fun!
Apr 29 11:39:00 3m 00s PORTHOLE As already said, there's not much in terms of gameplay here... Also, for those who have SSD drives like me, the pictures seem to be stored on C drive, which I was _not_ OK. You should change the folder of the images to the same folder where the game is, just to save our precious SSD's. :)
Apr 29 11:41:00 2m 00s MiniDungeon The theme was not very visible here... The graphics were awesome, but it lacked on almost every other aspect. The demons didn't damage me, the platformer physics were a bit off... Keep working on this, though; this can become something really cool once you've got all bases covered. :)
Apr 29 11:46:00 5m 00s Body Defence Solid work! It took me a while to notice the 'shop' button there, and almost didn't defend the first wave! Keep working on this as you intended, it'll be good. :) <br/> <br/>Plus, if you're interested, I made a tower defense game as well, I'd be happy if you'd check it out. ^_^ It's right there -&gt; http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&amp;uid=11177
Apr 29 11:53:00 7m 00s Cataclysmus The game loaded for AGES, I was already writing a comment without rating to say that, but just before I sent it, it finished loading. So, if others have the same problem... just wait. :) <br/> <br/>The controls were pretty confusing, I didn't really know what the things did. In the end, I didn't enjoy playing it as much as I probably would have if there was more feedback and help. That said, you should definitely continue working on this, the concept seems really interesting. :)
Apr 29 11:57:00 4m 00s Submarine (treasure hunting) This is pretty fun! I love the NES feeling throughout the game, being a retro-game fanatic. :)
Apr 29 12:00:00 3m 00s Ice Mining Facility Mk3 Great looks and such, but the gameplay lacks something... As it is, there's very little challenge.
Apr 29 12:06:00 6m 00s sirtet Awesome, reverse Tetris :) I've played tons of different Tetris clones, but this one brought something new. Good job!
Apr 29 12:10:00 4m 00s Aqua Nice, calm mood :) Good looking game, I liked the relaxed feel it had.
Apr 29 13:14:00 1h 04m OMAGAD BIRDS ! Doesn't work, I get the control instructions with red on the screen, with FPS of five. Nothing happens after that.
Apr 29 13:18:00 4m 00s Thrillah! Interesting concept and great looks, but seems a bit buggy. The input was not registered every time, and once in the dance-off I didn't get any arrows. Other than that, it's an interesting start, keep working on it. :)
Apr 29 13:23:00 5m 00s Infinidrill It's an interesting concept, keep working on it. :)
Apr 29 13:27:00 4m 00s Dark Depths Fun concept! It took me a while to understand the mechanics, but luckily it was pretty straightforward. The graphics are nice, reminds me of the very first games that incorporated 3D models. :)
Apr 29 13:30:00 3m 00s Beneath the surface Super Meat Boy, anyone? ;) <br/> <br/>Nice job, really polished. The controls were a bit slippery, though.
Apr 29 13:32:00 2m 00s Beneath the Surface Great job! The only critique I thought of was the lighting mechanic and the slow movement of the dude. Other than that, Nice work. :)
Apr 29 13:36:00 4m 00s Super Subsurface Sun Slayer I get some shader errors: Fragment Shader: ERROR 0:1: error(#397) Illegal escape sequence. I'm trying to play it in Windows 8.1 if it helps.
Apr 29 13:41:00 5m 00s In The alienne spaceship This was... a bit weird. I didn't find anything to do. Also, as the game is in full-screen, it should feature an exit option. As of now, I had to alt-tab my way out. :)
Apr 29 13:45:00 4m 00s Geology Rocks You can pretty much fly through the levels if you move a block you're standing on. :)
Apr 29 13:48:00 3m 00s The Mole You Know The electricity(?) shooting off the 'moles' was just... wrong. :D
Apr 29 13:50:00 2m 00s Upside Down Cool concept, although I couldn't figure out how to get past the spike field in the first level...
Apr 29 13:54:00 4m 00s Crystals It really is impressive you did this without libraries. :) <br/> <br/>I got some NullPointerExceptions, though, when trying to lvlup the dwarves: <br/> <br/>java.lang.NullPointerException at <br/> crystals.Fenster.keyPressed(Fenster.java:312)
Apr 29 13:56:00 2m 00s -- Nice lil' game there! However, the game crashed after destroying a cannon that was not visible on the screen...
Apr 29 14:06:00 10m 00s Dolphin and Rainbows !?!?! This was heartwarming :)
Apr 29 14:10:00 4m 00s Under The Shade Creative concept :) The controls were rather difficult, it took me several tries to pickup items. I didn't get any shade done, baaah. :/
Apr 29 14:14:00 4m 00s ASCII: Beneath the Surface Awesome to see some ASCII games here. :) But in the end, I was left to die in my cell... :/
Apr 29 14:16:00 2m 00s Grave Rave! Really, REALLY weird game, but I loved it. :)
Apr 29 14:18:00 2m 00s Under My Skin Nice concept, but FPS was about two or three while playing in Chrome.
May 3 04:28:00 86h 10m Roverboard I liked the controls and the animations a lot. The graphic style was cool. I roamed through the entire map. :) <br/> <br/>As you already inted to continue on this, I'll just say... Do it!
May 3 04:36:00 8m 00s Woodcutter's Folly I liked it, had to play through both "endings". :) The controls were smooth and worked just like I wanted. The puzzles were nice, and most sounds were sitting there quite well. Overall, nice job. :)
May 3 04:53:00 17m 00s Under the Paper I tried to complete all the levels, but couldn't. How many levels are there? I got about 45,000 points before I quit. :) <br/> <br/>The game was a nice, simple puzzler. I wonder if the levels were supposed to repeat - sometimes I got the same level three times in a row. I did however notice some progression in the levels as I kept going. <br/> <br/>Also, the way there was some story in the first couple of levels reminded me of my own LD27 entry, which had a similar story system. :)
May 3 04:58:00 5m 00s Inside Mt. Drew Nice lil' digger. Could have used some objectives, though... Also, the first time I went digging, I mined like ten blocks and suddenly I got this "end of level" counter thingy. This never happened after this one time..?
May 3 05:06:00 8m 00s Surfin' Hot This was quite nice, although it had the same problem as "Ray Hey Hey": aiming to the hoops is rather difficult, as it's hard to say when the surfer and the hoop line up. Other than that, pretty solid work!
