| Aug 26 12:57:00 | Frantic | Liked the sound effects a lot! The sword swing was good, but as Kevlanche said, the hitbox felt off.
I think you did a good job on the characters as well. They're pretty cute.
And yeah, very nice difficulty actually! | |
| Aug 26 13:06:00 | 9m 00s | The Barrier | ARGH. So hard. After many tries, my best is 9.8 seconds. I really want to see that little alien succeed in his weird objective.
Nice original twist on an otherwise old mechanic! |
| Aug 26 13:31:00 | 25m 00s | ChronoCards | This is the first virtual card game that I have actually enjoyed. Very nice take on the theme as well.
Never got to see the cat in the screen shot though...
So yeah, it was great fun, but relied a bit too much on luck. I didn't really notice that when I was winning though, because then it was of course because of my awesome strategic skillz ;D |
| Aug 26 13:41:00 | 10m 00s | Quizz Ball | Although it does say 1-4 players, it is not really playable when you're only one, so I didn't rate. Since I don't have any friends :'(
Game seems fun though! |
| Aug 26 13:49:00 | 8m 00s | 10 53K0ND5 | Quite nice for a first-time game. Neat with the 3D perspective on a 2D game.
It seems unfair that you don't have any idea as to where the exit is though. |
| Aug 26 13:57:00 | 8m 00s | Red Or Blue ? | Confusing download page -.-
But awesome game! Some very cool, and neatly balanced problems (except for the powder one, that one seemed way too hard). Especially liked the Legion one.
Now I'm going to hide in a corner and cry over the fact that I let 300 people die... |
| Aug 26 14:29:00 | 32m 00s | Many More of Them Live Next Door | Cool notebook graphics, and some neat descriptions.
The submarine moves way too slow though, and there is no real challenge... |
| Aug 26 14:32:00 | 3m 00s | Owned in 10 Seconds | I don't understand how to play this game... |
| Aug 26 14:40:00 | 8m 00s | Battle Balls | Cool idea, especially the ammunition system, but the game tends to get very stuck (for me at least). I think increasing the power of shots would make it more fun. |
| Aug 26 14:56:00 | 16m 00s | Ten Thousand Milliseconds to Live! | I liked the graphical design of the levels, and I am also impressed by the number of levels. (is it actually allowed to upload more levels after the compo ends though?).
I am a bit tired of platformers though, but oh well, that's just me. |
| Aug 26 15:12:00 | 16m 00s | Survival Madness | The retro graphics are very nice and personal in a way.
The game is also quite challenging (only ever made it to weapon no. 2...) and in a good way.
Look at all these guys celebrating christmas with me after I ran out of ammo: http://imgur.com/lxdx5bG ! |
| Aug 26 15:27:00 | 15m 00s | ILLUSIOUS | I UNLOCKED ALL ALTERNATIVE ENDINGS, COME AT ME N00BS |
| Aug 26 15:30:00 | 3m 00s | Avoiding10Sec | Good job making a game without libraries, there's not really any point to it in a weekend like this (other than to challenge yourself of course, which I fully respect!). |
| Aug 26 15:35:00 | 5m 00s | 10 Second Runny Guy | To matthias_zarzecki (who seems to be everywhere!): it works fine on windows! You just have to unzip twice!

It's not a very original concept. Of course matching your skills is very understandable, but just make sure to challenge yourself a little more next time, and scrap the first few ideas that come to mind.

High-five for first LD entry though, me too! |
| Aug 26 16:04:00 | 29m 00s | 10 Second Tactics | A good idea very well executed, the levels were nice, the AI impressingly clever and varied weapons and enemies.

However, the timer (and game with it) kept freezing every time the enemy timer hit 8 or 9, so they only got very(!) short turns making it a very easy game.

Can't wait to play the last level with a friend ;D |
| Aug 26 16:13:00 | 9m 00s | Shoot10 | It doesn't launch for me. When I launch it, it says that MSVCR71.dll could not be found. |
| Aug 26 16:17:00 | 4m 00s | Z Loop Ribbon | I think I reached the bottom! Yay?
Neato animations. Shame with no end-goal, I think this could have been fun. |
| Aug 26 19:48:00 | 3h 31m | BIRTH | Nice base mechanic, but the game was a bit too easy I think.
It took a long time before it started being challenging.

Nice fluid controls though, and I enjoyed soaring through the sky and bombing red "mothers" :D |
| Aug 26 19:57:00 | 9m 00s | Amulet in Ten | Very nice game, with impressive detail! Got badly stuck on one level though... My brain malfunctioned... |
| Aug 26 20:09:00 | 12m 00s | Burger Odyssey | Needs seasoning. |
| Aug 27 14:34:00 | 18h 25m | 10 Seconds is a Game Changer! | I like the idea of the game changing every seconds, but I never really noticed anything changing other than my ammo...
But good job anyways. |
| Aug 27 14:49:00 | 15m 00s | Orbital Brothers | Cool stuff, quite well balanced as well I think. I quite liked the scroll effect, gave a unique feel to it.

The randomness of when the species appeared was a turn-off though, since it made it more luck based. |
| Aug 27 14:59:00 | 10m 00s | Forest Edge | I JUST WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS FOREST. STOP KILLING ME!
Great fun, and awesome graphics & sound :D
I loved the walking animation ;)

I hate this forest. |
| Aug 27 15:05:00 | 6m 00s | Omnom10 | Nice graphics and lighting :D

Really really annoying sound though. Ahhhhh. |
| Aug 27 15:29:00 | 24m 00s | MEGA FRIENDSHIP BATTLE ELEVATOR | MEGA BATTLE CONFUSION ELEVATOR!

AMAZING DRAMATIC CUTSCENES

BRILLIANTLY ANIMATED GNOMES

EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE FOR SUCH A SHORT TIME

Actually really great job. Balanced, fun gameplay, admirable graphics, hilarious. Thanks for the laugh. |
| Aug 27 15:55:00 | 26m 00s | Anhedonia in Memoriam | Very nice combination of art, gameplay and sound. Creates a nice, sad mood.
Also, impressively balanced level. Challenging, but in that way that made me play it again and again because I knew I could do it.

Main critique is that he didn't reach the moon at The End.
Also, when travelling between screens, the game forgot that I was holding down a key, which is really annoying.
In GM, a way to fix it is to make a persistent object, and give it some boolean variables remembering whether it was pressed in the last room. (I remember having this problem in an earlier game ;) |
| Aug 27 16:05:00 | 10m 00s | Tsuri | Very cool tree growing mechanic :D I was childishly amazed by it every single time. |
| Aug 27 18:24:00 | 2h 19m | DEZ | Fantastic, definitely one of the best games of this jam.

Sooo nice with a break from "something new happens every 10 sec" or timer-based games (which I am sadly a victim of as well, albeit with a unique twist).

And on top of that, some eminently crafted levels. Last two especially were frustratingly great.

This is also the first game that has made me check out more of the creator's games (and follow him/her on twitter!). I like Linescape a lot :D

And all of that in TWENTYFOUR HOURS? Insane. |
| Aug 27 18:44:00 | 20m 00s | Hurry Up Fool | Nice game concept, and actually executed very neatly. I would have liked more levels like the last one where it was important to avoid the black clocks, since that level was awesome. |
| Aug 27 19:08:00 | 24m 00s | Story O' Dare | Very identifiable theme ;)

Kind of sad that it didn't accept my toilet photo... |
| Aug 27 19:16:00 | 8m 00s | Big Sad | Nice pixel art, cool idea with the second ending.
Great game for an Indian pacifist. |
| Aug 28 07:14:00 | 11h 58m | 1.863 million miles | Had a good laugh when he said "the DEVELOPER". I can see the potential in this, if you
reduce the fluff talk, and
make the text advance by pressing space, instead of waiting,
and actually give that poor mechanic something to do.
Your art is very nice. |
| Aug 28 08:39:00 | 1h 25m | 10 seconds to Dehydration | Actually a pretty cool mechanic, and some challenging, varied stretches in there. I played with a touchpad, which I think made it a bit too hard and I got stuck, but it was fun anyway :D |
| Aug 28 10:26:00 | 1h 47m | Continuing running | A maze-based platformer? Not really the most original idea, but actually kind of fun anyway. I got badly stuck at one point and could not figure out what to do at all... |
| Aug 28 11:45:00 | 1h 19m | Rush | Whacky jump mechanic, but it actually seemed to fit. I think something interesting could be made by experimenting more with such fast jump times, instead of the super precise normal jumping systems. |
| Aug 28 11:58:00 | 13m 00s | In The Ocean Blue | Was very confused... But nice art! |
| Aug 28 13:20:00 | 1h 22m | Forever Alone | Okay, this is definitely the best game I have played in this Ludum Dare. How the heck you managed to make all that in such a short time is beyond my comprehension.

Seriously, it was funny, it was innovative, it fit the theme in a very original way, the graphics were nice and clear, the music fit everything perfectly, and the gameplay was original and entertaining.

You are very good at this. Thanks for this experience. |
| Aug 28 13:29:00 | 9m 00s | 10 seconds of Hell | I love the responsive audio and the way it plays together with the graphics and game.

Not a big fan of the claustrophobic, confusing feel though. |
| Aug 28 13:38:00 | 9m 00s | DungeonRaider | It was fun to run around, but the map was way too huge, and there was no real reason to kill the eyes. Seems like you hit some time problems ;) |
| Aug 28 13:42:00 | 4m 00s | Juu Byo | Is it even possible to advance? It seemed way too hard for me, although I did get to 0.something at one point.

I like the whackiness though :D |
| Aug 28 13:47:00 | 5m 00s | You have 10 seconds | Great job for your first real project! Everything worked and it was actually kind of fun.

High-five for doing your first LD! Me too! |
| Aug 28 13:53:00 | 6m 00s | Time Bomb | Neat little game. Gets a bit boring after a while though. |
| Aug 28 14:02:00 | 9m 00s | MUD | Quite fun, I liked the connection between the different parts of the game, it fit well. I made it to level 61 (that's what the game said at least. Might have been level 6 :D) |
| Aug 28 14:15:00 | 13m 00s | Gas and Air! | Such a happy, great-looking game :D

The difficulty curve was, well, more like a difficulty very-high-step-and-then-just-flat-ground since after I managed to grab the first oil drum I could pretty much keep going as far as I wanted. |
| Aug 28 14:27:00 | 12m 00s | Distraction | I love games that go the surreal way and breaks the rules that they set up themselves (this kind of felt like a micro version of Frog Fractions) and this was really great.

Surprisingly, the moving blocks mechanic was very cool, that seemed like it could be expanded and explored a lot!

I actually really want to make games like this, but I never dare pour more than an hour into it, because people just think it is super weird. Maybe one day I'll make something like this for a full weekend :)

Thank you for this great experience :D |
| Aug 28 14:34:00 | 7m 00s | Ghost Robot Time | This is a quirky little entry |
| Aug 28 14:40:00 | 6m 00s | Dust in the Candy Megaverse | I like the idea, but it got very frustrating because of the high speed and the way it swung from side to side, making you miss stuff at random.

The countdown was awesome though. |
| Aug 28 14:53:00 | 13m 00s | Castle Clocksworth | First jam game I've played, so not really sure how to rate it. Just basically gave it a star less than I would have a compo game in all categories, meaning that I gave you a couple of 4-stars ;)
Amazing art and audio, and some very nice puzzles in there as well. |
| Aug 28 15:03:00 | 10m 00s | One Way | Very very nice atmosphere, the colors played together nicely, and the gameplay helped illuminate the nice artwork. |
| Aug 29 08:50:00 | 17h 47m | 10.00s...10.00s...10.00s... | Really. Another timer-based platformer. Please try to make something more original next time.
I'm sorry for being so blunt, but I am getting pretty tired of these. |
| Aug 29 13:40:00 | 4h 50m | 10 Seconds Minigames | This is the most fun I've had with any of the games in this Ludum Dare. I was laughing so hard at it.

Played as "Hannibal" with FrozenCow and some others, and it was actually fun with anything from 5 players to 10. Even beat FrozenCow in that race when we reset scores! :D |
| Aug 29 19:15:00 | 5h 35m | Sleepnaut | Neat little game :D Keep experimenting with non-objective games! |
| Aug 29 19:22:00 | 7m 00s | Deka Sektor | Wow, I am in love with those graphics! What a very nice clean design!

And the game is fun as well. The time cubes are a nice touch. |
| Aug 29 19:37:00 | 15m 00s | Angry Guards | Quite fun game, and very original way of taking the theme. Also sweet pixel art and decent music. |
| Aug 29 19:56:00 | 19m 00s | exposure | Best thing about this was easily the way the perspective worked. The gameplay was too much work, and too little fun, at least after the first round.
Unlocked 2/3 endings, and was pretty disappointed with the second one I unlocked.
Also, the theme was not very present.
I did like the exploration part and the graphics a lot though! |
| Aug 29 20:14:00 | 18m 00s | The Clock's Curse | The art was stunning, and definitely the strongest part of this game.
A good gameplay idea on paper, but then in reality it's either very easy or very trial-and-error. |
| Aug 29 21:03:00 | 49m 00s | 10" to rise | It's a cool, original idea, not really my cup of tea though, but evidently crafted with care, and seems to have quite a bit of depth.

The instructions seems to be a little bugged, they sometimes don't update (especially after building my first dock). |
| Aug 31 12:28:00 | 39h 25m | Legend of DerpElf : Quest for the Banana of Time | It was really hard to move, I had to start over a few times to move the character and then I got caught. Love the title though! |
| Aug 31 12:43:00 | 15m 00s | Divide and bounce | Great game. It was so much fun when they divided the first time. Tried to get as many as possible but never got above 10-12. Played all the levels. Liked the boing sound and the eyes! |
| Aug 31 12:57:00 | 14m 00s | Clocked In | Very very cool game, it felt extremely polished. Nicely balanced as well, I liked how it got harder around 12 and then gave you a breather before crushing you.
The music fit the feel of the game well, and the audio and graphic feedback was very clear.
Although it is another timer-based game, it felt very different, since the timer became part of the game. A refreshingly original take on the theme. |
| Aug 31 14:32:00 | 1h 35m | 10 seconds to run | Good job finishing your first game. It worked fine for me, and the path finding was a cool idea!
It was pretty buggy though, which was a shame. Also, I think it would have worked better if the controls worked by holding down a button, and not pressing it again and again. |
| Aug 31 14:43:00 | 11m 00s | Labyten | Was having a bit fun, but it got way too easy. I think hand-crafted levels would have benefited this game. |
| Aug 31 15:23:00 | 40m 00s | Robby | Funniest game I've played so far :D Had a good laugh at the stubbornness of the policeman. |
| Aug 31 15:28:00 | 5m 00s | Spark | I liked the heartbeat sound, but the rest of the game was kind of lacking in entertaining challenge. |
| Aug 31 15:39:00 | 11m 00s | Hunted | Liking the ambience, but the game is quite boring as there is no there challenge than to walk around. |
| Sep 1 11:57:00 | 20h 18m | The Weapon Changer | This was actually more fun than I expected. I think making some of the weapons a bit more powerful, and showing the next weapon would improve the game!

High-five for first Ludum Dare! |
| Sep 1 12:09:00 | 12m 00s | Mission: Save Gliese | This was fun actually! A bit too easy, but enjoyable none the less. Impressive amount of levels! |
| Sep 1 12:14:00 | 5m 00s | Pathfinders Delight | I got frustrated very quickly because of the seemingly random speeds of the character. Other than that though, it was a fun little game with some pretty cool levels actually! |
| Sep 1 12:21:00 | 7m 00s | Fly: Generations | Very cool game! I missed the part of the instructions where it said press Q, so I was very confused for a while, but after realizing what I had to do, it was actually fun. Nice take on the them, and sublime sound effects ;) |
| Sep 1 12:32:00 | 11m 00s | The Square | Surreal. I tried for quite a while to win, or make any progress at all, but it was very hard, and I kept dying. If you have to go somewhere specific, then maybe give the player a hint, so that it feels like you're doing progress.
Also, I'm not sure, but I think arrow keys would have suited the game better.
Very nice mood. |
| Sep 1 12:51:00 | 19m 00s | Crazy Genetist | Here we have someone who fits the title "L". |
| Sep 1 13:05:00 | 14m 00s | Time Wizard | Finished with 14400 points, and only 12 warps :D

It was fun, and had some good level design, teaching you the workings of the time staff. |
| Sep 1 13:11:00 | 6m 00s | DecBin | Challenging, but not very varied levels. Smooth controls though, and some nice, fast-paced gameplay! |
| Sep 1 13:23:00 | 12m 00s | Duking Germs | Such a cute little game :D it made me happy.
Although it took a long time for the last two germs to become friends, I made it all the way! Superb relaxing soundtrack, and it was entertaining to look at the confused germs. Good job! |
| Sep 1 13:28:00 | 5m 00s | Bmin | Sounds like a neat idea, shame you didn't finish.

On another note, I think that quick world changing which is in the game could be used for a very cool game mechanic. |
| Sep 1 13:35:00 | 7m 00s | Blobb has enough time | I think this game would have been a lot more fun without the barrels, since they are pretty tedious to move around. Some of your level design was pretty original, don't be too hard on yourself. I would have liked to see the shots-->lever mechanic explored more, instead of the barrels. |
| Sep 1 13:42:00 | 7m 00s | Time and Shapes | Score: 729, 144 seconds and yes I feel proud! Watch out for this magical polygon!

I like how you have to be strategic in which enemy you're moving towards/aiming at. Very smooth controls, and clean audio/visual design. |
| Sep 1 13:47:00 | 5m 00s | 10 Seconds to Self Destruct | The mechanics, and especially the running (which felt pretty great actually) could have worked if you had designed the levels differently, I think. Less maze-design, more distance and dodging perhaps. And since the wall-jump doesn't work very well, you should have maybe scrapped it completely - in favor of a double-juimp perhaps?

Nice sprite and game over animations! |
| Sep 1 13:54:00 | 7m 00s | 10 secoonds to boom | Good job on finishing a game, and it actually had a nice idea behind it. However, the collisions were buggy, which is something that really annoys the player. I know from personal experience that collisions are hard, but getting them right is crucial.
Furthermore, the questions would have to vary, and/or be harder if you want the entertainment to last. And you should randomize whether it's the monster on the left or right that has the answer. |
| Sep 1 16:26:00 | 2h 32m | CatWalk: Final battle | A shame that it's not finished. I didn't really understand the story, and especially not why you had to shoot that guy at the end. |
| Sep 1 16:39:00 | 13m 00s | The Day Magic Died | Extremely impressive amount of acceptably polished content. Very cool level design, and nice difficulty curve all the way through. I also liked the retro graphics and audio a lot (although the dying sound was a bit too obnoxious) |
| Sep 1 16:59:00 | 20m 00s | Lights | Falling makes me happy!

Very nice concept and levels and audio. I would have liked the life lessons to play a bigger role in the levels, not just as the theme. |
| Sep 1 18:39:00 | 1h 40m | S0LB0T | I was very confused as to what the goal was, and I kept dying very quickly, since I couldn't seem to get any new time. |
| Sep 1 19:03:00 | 24m 00s | Shuutshimi | Feels very polished, and it has a perfect fast-paced rythm, just making you want to play again and again (and this time I won't get that stupid control scheme). |
| Sep 1 19:14:00 | 11m 00s | The Call | <3
What an awesome dialogue system. This could be expanded upon, used in other games, and so much more. Extremely impressive idea and work! |
| Sep 1 19:19:00 | 5m 00s | FOOD! | High-five for first Ludum Dare! Me too!
That said, this mostly seems like practice coding? Keep making these small things and you will gradually get better!
I'm digging the music! |
| Sep 1 19:27:00 | 8m 00s | fastDefense | Seems like a neat concept, but it definitely needs some polish. An obvious part of that would be to speed up the enemies a lot, since the game is mind-numbingly slow right now.
But some cool bomb ideas and nice throwing mechanic. |
| Sep 1 19:37:00 | 10m 00s | 10 seconds to live | Dooleus seems to have said everything that I would want to say, except that I got 4 or 5 out of 6 endings I think. |
| Sep 1 20:13:00 | 36m 00s | 10 Seconds Before the World Ends | Yay, I got all three endings! Superb game, you deserve all the praise, especially since it's such a joy to read through all your responses. Although your game (deservingly) has gotten a lot more praise than mine, I share that extremely positive feeling after this Ludum Dare. That tiny shot of adrenaline every time I notice a new comment :D

Let's just all agree that this community is awesome :D |
| Sep 2 18:55:00 | 22h 42m | SILX | This was freaking AWESOME. Very very smooth and nice movement, and good overall flow of the game (except for the lack of checkpoints, which made it too hard to complete for me).
It felt so good to fly around those "planets" and just bombard them. The graphics had a very clean and polished look to them, and I loved the way the planets turned to color when defeated.
In my book, not following the theme at all subtracts at least one star from every category though (giving you a 4 star rating in some of them ;). But you definitely have some design skill, I'll look forward to maybe seeing your next LD-game, hopefully WITH the theme this time :) |
| Sep 2 19:31:00 | 36m 00s | Ten second(s) hand-swords | Kind of hard to figure out what's happening, since there is no scrolling background to move in relation to. So it gets confusing, but there is an impressive amount of content. |
| Sep 2 19:35:00 | 4m 00s | Dance Dance Revolution: Atart 2600 edition | Highest: 13
Lowest: -127

Great soundtrack, and that's the most important part of DDR, right? |
| Sep 2 19:55:00 | 20m 00s | Bring The Things | Yay! I completed! Will they finally accept me at Mensa now?

Very simple gameplay, dangerously close to the uninteresting, but some humorous level design saved it :) |
| Sep 2 20:03:00 | 8m 00s | Furnitorture | Strangely addictive, and I'm not sure if that is a good thing... |
| Sep 2 20:07:00 | 4m 00s | Off and On | It was interesting to see how bad my brain was at connecting the screen output to pressing the right buttons.
Although extremely simple, it's a bit entertaining. |
