@ryjcio thank you for the feedback. It is indeed a bug. The monsters are supposed to attack the father, who is a one hit kill. Unfortunately there is an error in the implementation of his death logic. Once you attack a monster, they start attacking you though.
Really cool concept and lots of fun! Congratulations! Due to the size of the targets I found it hard to get a swinging flow going because I failed to hit anything. Perhaps it would help if the closest target within a certain angle to the aiming direction was chosen.
Absolutely gorgeous and polished! Amazing that you managed this in 72 hours! Congratulations!
Great idea! I love the combination between a music game, a memory game and puzzle game, very creative. You get full points for innovation! Only thing that bothered me was that the lines couldn't start on one of the circles. It made me take a few moments to figure out how to actually play it.
The mood is on point! Loved the lighting. I'm sure the core mechanic was not easy to implement in only three days, so props for that! Only thing that I found confusing was that the AI didn't react the same for each of my lives with the snake attacking my previous selves in a seemingly random order. Still, great entry, congratulations! :)
Awesome! I'm impressed by how many mini games you managed to implement in such limited time. Overall it takes me back to the old days of newgrounds - very nostalgic! Thank you!
This was incredibly clever. Nice twist on the snake genre! Just when I started figuring out an algorithm to solve the levels with the core mechanic, you add a twist to it that completely destroys my idea. The timing is on point! If I had to find one point of criticism, it's that the sound effects don't quite fit the mood that was set by the introduction and the background music, but that really is just a minor point.
The game does leave me with a craving for more and I'd love to see you develop this in to a complete game!
Haha, thanks for the feedback @tamail. Those *!&+*#! stairs are the bane of my existence.
@nyunesu wow, thank you for the elaborate feedback! Don't think I've ever received feedback in such detail for ludum dare before. Highly appreciated. I'm also glad you liked the music. I got home from a long day of hacking and sat down for half an hour to create it, thinking there was a music category. Unfortunately there is only a sound category, so we didn't feel comfortable allowing ratings for sound. I'll be sure to check your game out tomorrow!
Loved the lighting on the map and dashing felt very natural and intuitive.
This feels incredibly polished for a Ludum Dare game! Good job, I'm seriously impressed! :O
Hope your friend gets well soon! This was really interesting. I wasn't actually sure what I was doing or what influenced a baby being born, but I enjoyed the minimalist aesthetic, the sound effects and the attention to detail in the naming of certain places. Nicely done!
Instant classic! I loved everything about this: The singing, the graphics, the sound effects, the sound track, the rewarding gameplay, the story arch and the distortion that happens when you reach high speeds. I had a huge smile on my face and sang "Hypeeeeeer Hamsteeeeer" by the time I reached hyper velocity!
I liked the minimalistic graphics and the inclusion of environmental puzzles (the maze), which added to the regular gameplay. The only things that hampered my enjoyment were the sticky walls in the maze (would have been better to be able to slip along them) and that the enemies had so many hit points (although perhaps my aim is just bad).
Love the concept and the graphics! Shame you didn't get round to making music, because then it would really be a well rounded product. It took me a few moments to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing and what the trick with the spikes is, but once I had that figured out I had a lot of fun.
That music was so dramatic! I like the simplicity of the game. It's not hard to understand, but still challenging and even fun, because weird things happen. Thank you!
