A fun game that gives the player a good level of control. Cute robot, nutty idea and solid design make it good entry. Well done for releasing to HTML5 too. Well done and good luck.
I really like this game concept. The idea of having followers in a game is a good way to make it strategic. Great job. I didn't work out out a good way to win but neat idea and well done.
This was a brilliant shoot'em up game and all running in the browser - very professional. Scored 17,900 on my first go - is the secret is to run away each time to repair?. Graphics and sounds were superb! The floating debris was hilarious and the planets in backdrop were great. Surely this was not done in 48 hours? - it's just too good! Tenuous link to theme but well done. Great game!
It's a clever idea, topical but not politically correct which is why it's so funny. Simple and Original - well done!
This is a fabulous game. Very much like The Matrix or Max Payne but in a super mini format. Graphics, sound are play-ability are first class. Levels are really nicely designed and very atmospheric. Could play this all day. Re-spawning was a must in level two. I was playing in slow mo to enjoy every millisecond. Great job. I hope you go on to make this into something bigger - maybe a player vs player format? It would be a hit I'm sure - strategy games like that are hard to come by.
Well done on making a digital card game in such a short time. I like card games and could see you must have worked hard to create a game that works. I didn't have much success playing but could see were you were going with the idea. Well done.
Very impressive looking 3D game in a browser. I assume you must have had a flying framework you used beforehand? I managed to sink two ships on my first go. Nice tutorial. Felt it was more luck than skill but very neat game.
I enjoyed this game and liked the card/worker placement game framework you've made. Well done on putting it in the browser. Therapeutic music was helping me keep playing. I agree with @khaotom I needed labels to help me and so couldn't work out best strategy but it was a neat game engine - one that could be reused. Well done - will check out your code.
Nicely little platform game put together - well done. Once I found the left shift key (sprint( and f key (sacrifice) I completed the level ok. Good job on making it html5 compatible.
Well done on a simple and well themed game. Easy to understand and looking professional. I was close to 50 souls but fell in a trap at the end. Liked the idea and the story at the beginning was really well executed and got me in the mood! Good stuff. Looking forward to your next one.
This is one of the best games in the competition - very professional adventure game. The graphics were very easy on the eye and sound was thematic. I thought you had the perfect gameplay idea for the theme and it hung together very well. I am having trouble playing most unity games because it seems to keep the a key locked down once pressed (go left key) in my google browser - will try another browser. Well done - great game! worked ok in edge. How to win?
I like it. I was determined to beat it. It was difficult to move with multiple men at the same time but once I got down to my last man, every move was easier to time, although more tense as I got further. Got to the helicopter. Well done nice game. What engine did you use?
Hi @zetorama, it did only take three attempts. (I was always down to one man after the third station). I may have had a bit of luck but I waited at each station to watch the pattern of bullets and made my move only when I knew what to expect. It reminds me a little of the classic old game cannon fodder. Thanks for letting me know the game engine you used. Good luck in the competition. Do you have an ambition beyond the jams? Cheers Hawkie
So simple and very funny. Once you start you can't stop. Could see that working on a mobile device with swipe action. Well done - great job.
Well done on your first game. All the bits seemed to work, not sure how the bullets from the gun affected the people but the scores were going up. I can imagine you learnt a lot from it well done and good luck.
This is a really impressive underwater platform adventure game. The dynamics of the octopus are very clever and it feels like a classic arcade style game. I got as far as level three and couldn't get any further, even after repeated attempts. Well done - professional quality!
Hi all,
Good luck to all for Ludum Dare 43. This is my first ever experience of this. But I've spent a while getting my own typescript game engine ready.
I woke up this morning at 2am to look at the LD theme to find it was one I hadn't really thought about. Went back to bed for four hours and re awoke with an idea about sacrificing passengers on a competitive balloon ride - where the aim is to travel as far as possible for prestige. I got to work on the balloon mechanics using my own typescript framework and after a 16 hours managed to create something like a balloon flight simulator. Its damn tricky to land. You have to have less than 10 descent speed and land on a flat bit of ground. Score is based on flying as far as you can. You can ditch passengers using space key to go further. :)
Ludum Dare 43 - Sacrifices must be made - Air Rider by Hawkie.png
Git Hub User: Hawkie.
It's tricky to land at first. For anyone struggling, try using the burner (Q) immediately and maintain temperature of about 90. (or sacrifice two passengers straight away :)
If you have mastered it, for an extra challenge try landing without using the burner - ejecting passengers only.
You can play repeatedly (N) and build score from previous successes.
Keys:
Q = Burner (increase temp)
A = Dump Air (decrease temp!)
Left = Jet air to go left (loses some temp)
Right = Jet air to go right (loses some temp)
Space = Eject passenger to lighten the load.
Esc = return to main menu
Hi Christiano, I downloaded and played fireboy! Well done on completing your first game! It hangs together well. I was so determined to reach the end but got overpowered by too many ice cubes at the end. Nice addictive game, well done.
Smart thinking game. Like the happy innocent character and cute jump sounds - followed by blood splats over the screen! Well done - great game that works well to the theme.
The concept was clever, and the game was very good quality. Graphics, dynamics and playability worked really well. The swarming behaviour of those damn greenies was wearing me down, as it should I guess - I survived for 65 seconds and sacrificed 5 cows. Well done and amazing to create that in the time frame.
Very nice game - well pieced together and well themed. Well done on making it run in the browser too - always prefer that. Was impressed with the smoke trails and abstract graphics- it's given me something to try. I couldn't get home but I tried several times. I like the balloon idea - I did one also :)
Very nice game that runs in browser. Graphics and particle effects kept me going back for more and great controls with the mouse for the gun. It was a good level of challenge too. The theme was the only stretch of imagination for me. Well done - professional job.
Superb game. Couldn't stop until I solved it. Oh how macabre and fitting for the theme. Atmospheric sound effects really set the mood and the shadows and symbols were haunting throughout. Really well done in such a short time - amazing. Highly rated. (Well done for making browser enabled).
The balloon headed left and off the screen straight away so didn't get a chance to play test it. Shame, I made a balloon game too and wanted to compare. Nice graphics though.
