Solid game, like the artwork, very smooth, shooting feels really fluid - and you had time to make a tutorial, that's awesome :)

fenerax 2018-12-03 22:06

Really good game, the graphics, audio, everything was really well polished and played really well, it lagged the browser a bit with all the particles! I loved the little easter eggs like Wall-e floating around they were a nice little touch :)

jannick-larsen 2018-12-03 22:06

very well made! the short tutorial is very helpful and the graphics are great. the controls are simple and easy to master. could use some kind of upgrade menu though, i don't know why but i was trying to find a button for it hehe. great game!

This was fun! I really like the simple visuals and the gameplay. Pretty relaxing, too.

At first, I was confused as to why include regenerating health given the theme, but it was absolutely necessary from a gameplay perspective, due to the absurd barrage of bullets that eventually happens. That said, as a result, you lost a bit on the theme. I never found myself in trouble or even really noticed my health going down as my ship fired off. Between the theme and gameplay, though, I'd pick the latter too, so you made the right decision, in my mind.

I'd add a note that players should play this in full-screen. I initially just placed it in the window on the itch page and as a result had a hard time differentiating between the small blue ships and the blue projectiles.

(Oh and, you have two misspellings on your itch page at the time of writing this. "Fortunatly" -> fortunately and "Controlls" -> controls.)

First some critque: The controls are clumsy sometimes. The start is boring or rather it takes too long till you fight harder enemies.

Everything else: The sound is good. The music is amazing. The gameplay is simplistic but still you made a tutorial. And I love the graphics (the great artstyle, parallax background, particle effects). It feels amazing playing this game. The bullets are big, the screen shakes when you hit something and combo counter pulsates.

Great Game <3

This was a brilliant shoot'em up game and all running in the browser - very professional. Scored 17,900 on my first go - is the secret is to run away each time to repair?. Graphics and sounds were superb! The floating debris was hilarious and the planets in backdrop were great. Surely this was not done in 48 hours? - it's just too good! Tenuous link to theme but well done. Great game!

Really liked the controls here. I loved the little details in the background Like Wall-E and the Lunar Module.

At the beginning I thought " You can handle this, your lifebar is filling up pretty fast you will be alright". Man was I wrong. Great level of difficulty and nice pun with the text! I admire your dedication for so many different types of enemies and you even got time for a tutorial. The only shortcoming for me is, that the rotations feels a little bit off. I would have suspected that I will move in some kind of arch but it was in place. The music could also be a little more driving. But all in all a really good game which does not look like it was made in a weekend! Great job!

@bugninja and @fenerax thank you for your feedback!

@jannick-larsen you are completely right! Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to implement a well balanced upgrade system!

@dwam Thank you for your amazing and details and congratulations on your awesome score! And thanks for correcting our spelling mistakes :)

@01fe7e Thanks for playing our game.

@hawkie I am glad you liked our game. Since this is a Jam game we actually had 72 hours :) Also congratulations on your awesome score!

cambryx 2018-12-03 22:29

@masterkrepta I am glad you enjoyed aur game and the little eastereggs. Thanks for playing :)

@norb Thank you for playing our game! Creating music is always a big challenge for us :) We are glad you enjoyed playing the game and the level of difficulty. Thank you for the amazing feedback!

Neat game! I really enjoyed the gameplay and the simple graphics as well as the sci-fi culture references sprinkled throughout. My highest score is 9125 but I'm sure I can do better than that. The online version lacks sound (or is it just me?), which is otherwise pretty good. The implementation of the theme wasn't anything special but the execution made up for it :)

adroitconceptions 2018-12-03 22:39

Interesting game play. the single HP/Energy bar that regenerates when you break your combo was an interesting idea. I both liked it and didn't like it as I found myself at points not engaging with the core game play (killing the things) to get a HP regeneration movement. It would have been nice if it was clear if you were killing things off screen or not... because the speed of everything... you were often shooting at stuff off screen.

Made it to 6295 Looks and sounds great, particles are nice! Things get chaotic when there is lots of ships all firing. Wish I had mouse aim to better shoot them all :)

bungus-productions 2018-12-04 05:59

Nice work! This game is extremely polished and fun to play, the tutorial was nice, and some stuff in the background such as the death star and the "stop reading this text" was really funny.

koltzow 2018-12-04 08:35

A solid entry, really well made. Love that you included a tutorial. Graphics look really good and polished. Even though the controls where smooth i did have some difficulty avoiding getting hit because the enemy is always facing you (even when they turn) and projectile is so much faster then than my ship speed. It gave me very little reaction time and made it even harder to avoid when you have to counter whatever momentum you already have. Maybe if the enemies wheren't facing me at all times, but had to turn around like me it would balance it out correctly. They feel a bit OP. But again a really solid game, great job

cambryx 2018-12-04 19:24

@jandourek We are happy that you liked our game and the little sci-fi references :) The sound in the online version worked on all devices we tested on, so maybe it was a problem on your end. Thanks for valuable the feedback!

@adroitconceptions Thank you for playing our game. We tried to show you that you killed enemies offscreen by playing an explosion sound as well as animating the score and multiplier increase. But you are totally right that it can get really chaotic and you can easily miss those hints. Thank you for your feedback!

@barrier and @bungus-productions Thank you for playing the game and your feedback!

@koltzow Thank you for playing our game. Balancing was indeed a big challenge for us. Though we think we did a fairly good job, I agree that enemies can feel OP from time to time. We are glad that you enjoyed playing our game and are grateful for your feedback!

Nice game! At 13K points the screen was so full of chaos that all I could do without dying was flee like coward, haha. Although this kept me alive for some more minutes. Loved all the little references to space films and games. Great entry, thank you!

steve-moore 2018-12-04 21:16

Awesome job. Loved the look of it. I didn't really feel pressured by holding down the trigger (like I was losing more life by not shooting?), but still had fun with it!
