I think the whole high scoring system speaks for itself - this is a simple concept with a lot of strategic depth! I think a little bit of artistic flair on the graphics could have gone a long way, and sound effects would have been great as well. However, those are just nit-picks, this is a stellar game!
Really enjoyed this one! Loved the assets, the level design, the core mechanic. Wish you would have had more situations that forced the player to shoot the crossbow - could have had kind of a cool puzzle element to it. A reticle also would have been nice. However, as is, this was one of my favorite entries so far! 10/10 would light my crossbow on fire again :)
Nicely done! I had a lot of fun with this one. Also reached the edge of the universe, so that was cool :) Would be great to see more pre-existing caverns, I only ran into one. Also I bet this game could work great with procedural generation! But as is, this was a fun time, nice work!
Loved this! Great polish, super fun. Difficulty curve felt a bit random at times, but definitely there was a much higher level of challenge than I expected when I first started playing. Well done!
Reminds me a lot of a game I played on Windows 95 growing up (also called Pipe Dream, lol) - nice work finding a unique spin on the theme! Very difficult, but a lot of potential for strategic gameplay :)
The dropdown mechanic is really cool! I'd love to see it expanded with more verbs and nouns. Maybe as you discover evidence it would add more to the dropdown? Nice work :)
Had fun pooping out infinite eggs. I'm now going to take my army of wasps and invade a country. Nobody will be able to stop our military invasion >:)
I think more of a goal might be nice, as well as maybe tightening up the baby wasp AI - most of my babies just sat around doing nothing. However, this was still fun, and I really liked the wasp sprite!
@wormholegames Thanks for playing! So are you saying that your character didn't respawn when you fell to the bottom of the screen? Or when you reached the goal it didn't send you to the next level?
@maple Thank you for your kind words! I actually wouldn't consider it a rhythm game, since I'm secretly very very trash at Guitar Hero, Beat Saber, and the like, haha. I specifically wanted the rhythmic elements to be unrelated to your inputs, at least at first. In the end, I did build some rhythmic mechanics, like a block that only appears during certain beats, but I ran out of time to implement it in any levels. If I ever build more on this concept, I'll probably introduce a lot more rhythm-ish elements. Thanks for your thoughtful feedback, really appreciate it!
@cheesepencil Unfortunately, my Unity editor has been bugging out, so I'm unable to create a web build for this game. Sorry :(
@dmtroy That's really great feedback! If I ever revisit, I'll try and make more of a tutorial element to introduce the dash. Thanks for taking the time to write a comment — notes like that are really helpful :)
