@rasco thanks for playing and sorry about the ending bug. Having no way to fast-forward option during the dev made it hard to debug events happening near the end of the game.

Yes there are 7 different endings that you can get, but some are very sad and I don't encourage you to pursue them :'(

@fangzhangmnm Sorry about the extra stress, and that bug we couldn't catch in time :( Thanks a lot for playing! :)

@feips thanks for playing and for the great feedback! Sorry about the black screen bug, we only found out about it after the submission period ended. Thanks again for playing, take care!

@avavt Thanks a lot for the constructive feedback! It really helps :) Your entry is great! Are you going to keep working on it?

POKED - be social by Faktori 2017-12-12T00:58:53Z

@avavt Web game sounds like a good plan! But yeah don't force it some games and teams are not meant to be extended beyond the jam. Best of luck with your projects anyway!

@randomhuman hey there! Thanks a lot for playing! Yes we are aware of the alarm being annoying. We fixed that issue but I don't think we're allowed to update our entry until voting is over ;)

Regarding audio, I made a background music but we decided not to include it at the last minute because it was hard for some playtesters to read text while having background music. Maybe we'll add it again with an option to toggle it off somewhere.

Thanks a lot for the great feedback, take care!

@satyre thank you for your feedback! We're glad you like it!

How They Survived by Florent Juch 2020-04-22T13:54:44Z

Lovely little game. Great colour palette, fantastic humour. Fits the theme well. There's a learning curve but it's quite fun. My only problem was that I kept clicking outside of the game window. I don't know if there is any other fix other than to force fullscreen.

Keep making games!

Keep the King Alive by Noxalus 2020-04-22T11:35:52Z

Excellent concept and implementation. Props on doing all of that alone and thank you for including a timelapse video. Those are nice to watch.

- I had to mute the music. The problem is simply that your loop is too short. Video game loops can be short, but not that short. The player has a short term memory when it comes to music and will notice the loop and most likely be annoyed by it. Thank you for including a mute button. The rest of the sound design really fits!

- I was missing feedback on click, to know whether the character was going to walk next to the resource/enemy or harvest/attack it. Left me with a feeling of anxiety after each click :P

Heartbeat by LukasDonkers 2020-04-21T16:37:17Z

Looks like you had a lot of fun making this, congratulations :)

Fresh concept, fits the theme. Portrait format with big buttons lends itself to a mobile hit. The patient room graphics are nice. You could use more of the screen space for either the gameplay, or to display useful information like a right/wrong/combo feedback just above the oscilloscope. Some simple text like "Your turn!" would have helped me grasp the concept faster.

Keep making games!

Is it wrong to feed haterz to my plants? by khaotom 2020-04-22T20:07:28Z

Cool little game. It's fun to play and has a lot of depth.

Might be missing some in-game feedback on how mechanics affect each other. But at the same time there's a lot of information on the screen. Some attention to UX/UI will greatly help your game get more fans!

Might be a tad on the difficult side for a jam game (don't expect everyone to read your instructions). You can try to introduce each concept in a separate level next time. (Although that requires a little bit more code)

Dab the haters away!

Amazing Accidents of Blob the Spacecat by DangerRad 2020-04-22T15:32:22Z

Very cool concept. I think there are not enough games with "pre-programming" mechanics.

I love the graphics and choice of colour. I like that you implemented a menu and a dialogue system / tutorial.

A bug where I couldn't end the pathing "tool" to click on "start" prevented me from going too far into the game. Yet I can see there are many more features that I couldn't explore. I hope you can take some more time for bugfixing and polish in your next game, even if it ends up being simpler mechanics.

I know you opted out of audio, but it's a key element so here's some feedback: the music got annoying after a while. I feels out of place compared to the universe. I love Bach but this game felt like it needed more of a spy-like theme, and maybe a more computerized sound palette. The sound effects would have helped.

Please make a sequel where I can program the cat in lua :P

Keep making games!

Bibou by PostMeridianGames 2020-04-22T14:17:32Z

Nice little game, I like the concept of the cameras, but I'm wondering if they have any impact on gameplay? It would be nice if you had limited knowledge on what's going on and needed to use these cameras for that purpose.

The music is nice (a bit loud) and the SFX add to the cuteness of the graphics.

Keep making games!

P.S.: you can use itch.io to upload your game. It will give you visibility and and more control. Also doesn't delete your files down the road.

Pollinate the Garden by PBG 2020-04-22T15:39:00Z

Nice little game, I love the walking bee concept and its animation!

The music and sfx are also fitting, and overall the only thing that prevented my immersion is the arbitrary square box and generic blue skybox.

The gameplay loop is there, but it's too easy because of two reasons: - There's no timer to "catch" or "disseminate" the pollen (or it's really long) - As more flowers grow, the game becomes exponentially easier

Congrats on making the game from scratch and thank you for sharing the source.

Keep it up!

THE SECRET FLAME by Thomas Lean 2020-04-23T16:31:15Z

@pbg Ah I can't take the credit for that one. @thomas-lean is the one who requested more impact sounds and programmed the screen shake to fit those. You have him to thank for that.

BoPeep vs Big Bad by Buckmonster 2020-04-22T19:37:06Z

The screenshots look appealing and I wanted to give your game a try, but it's behind a registration screen and I don't really want to register a new account to play a jam game... Have you considered an alternative like itch.io?

Signal Fire On Mystery Island by linluk 2020-04-22T15:20:57Z

Nice little game. I like the concept, the interface and the sound design.

Gameplay-wise, the movement felt a bit erratic. Seems it's physics-based with a bit of "gliding" but I'm not sure there's a need for that on grass. I didn't manage to enable the wheelbarrow which was a nice idea, but I didn't need it. I don't know if you lowered the difficulty at the last minute (jam games tend to be too hard due to lack of playtest), but I never found the need to use all these branches.

Atmosphere-wise, it would have been interesting to think of a correlation between all the props. The portals and the switches feel particularly out of place and kind of suck you out of the world.

Congratulation on making all of this alone and with open-source tools (big Godot fan myself).

Keep making games!

ALPHA PAPA ECHO by jamesterjim 2020-04-22T14:10:24Z

Cool take on the theme!

Has an old-school vibe to it. Very fun once you can get used to the controls. Having done a flying game in a past jam, it's one of the trickiest things to get right. You did great considering the limited time.

I would have loved an option to invert pitch, and I'm personally used to A and D for Yaw and Q and E for Roll.

I love the interactive tutorial in the menu! And the difficulty seems well balanced.

George J. Symons. Meteorologist by Yadoob 2020-04-22T11:23:07Z

I didn't hear music nor sound effects, not sure if it's a bug or if it's on my end. They would have helped with the atmosphere, but I'm not going to take that into account.

Like @noxalus , I spent considerable time clicking on acquired items to trigger them instead of dragging them. This can be solved by raising the item up on click and casting a light shadow underneath.

Some other minor bugs got in the way of my progression but overall the vision, feel and gameplay are all very nice.

The dark, gloomy but somewhat peaceful atmosphere was very nice. Dear Esther is one of my favourite games and this strongly reminded me of it. Both the feeling of loneliness and the beauty in simple things vibes.

Monster Munch by SilasAdams 2020-04-22T14:02:17Z

Great little game. Fun animations and sound effects really helps build the atmosphere. The lore is fuzzy to me as to how/why a farmer is taking care of a furry monster and who are all these lizardmen.

The movement seems inconsistant depending on framerate. Did you use Update() and not FixedUpdate()?

I would have enjoyed more difficulty, e.g. enemies attacking me, or species defending one-another so that you have to pick isolated monsters.

Took me a while to understand the heart was a power-up, due to it being a different style and shape compared to the other items.

Overall, it seems like you had fun making this! Keep making games!

@forgin-bits sorry you're having the bug! We're trying to figure it out :o Can you tell us which browser and OS you're using, and if you have Hardware Acceleration enabled? I hope you can have it working in another browser! We'll try to tackle this bug but no promises!

Later... by Kizu 2022-04-05T14:47:36Z

@forgin-bits last question : do you have a dedicated GPU (graphics card?) or an integrated Intel one?

Later... by Kizu 2022-04-05T18:24:14Z

@akitl hello! Sorry you're having problems. So far you're the only one who's reported issues with the keyboard. Can you be more specific? (Browser, what exactly happens or doesn't happen? Does it happen on other browsers/computers?) With more info we try and fix that for you and everyone else! Thank you very much!

Later... by Kizu 2022-04-05T21:52:59Z

@akitl Did you click once to get out of the dialogue? Before typing? (Yeah it's not explicit, sorry for that)

@forgin-bits The chips / crunch thing is a volume bug that's been recurring since the beginning of the jam haha! And it's the lesser of two evils believe me! I will probably write a blog post on my sound design struggles for this project, it was a very frustrating adventure!

Later... by Kizu 2022-04-17T06:36:15Z

@itooh Hello friend :) Thanks for the feedback! The "mouth noises" at the beginning are a bug I should eventually fix but I ran out of patience with Unity hahaha - Also we made the game relatively easy for this jam version but we might make it a post-jam version that feels more challenging!

The Squeel of Time by Victris Games 2022-04-17T09:08:34Z

Nice little game! Creative concept (albeit keep in mind I haven't played that many arcade games) and nice execution. I see how it can relate to the theme!

Didn't encounter any bugs and the graphics were very cute. My only point of feedback would be sound design: the squeal with the added echo/verb gets a bit annoying since it's a "die and retry" game. But I also read that you did the sound design with your kids which is super cute and very educative! Nice of you to have taken the time! (I chose not to rate audio so it won't affect your score negatively)

It took me a while to understand the controls, maybe a tutorial would have been welcome but honestly in the end all the necessary information is present to figure things out and it's not that complicated so I didn't feel frustrated or anything. (Also maybe that info was present on the bottom of the screen but the usual WebGL resolution bugs hid it away from me.

Thanks for making this, and keep on making games :)
