Clever use of the theme for sure! Fun to decide when the best time to use shields vs collecting crates and shooting asteroids.
Cool concept and good execution.

Nice work! I had a bit of fun playing this for sure. The big issue I had were the controls. The up and down movement is relative to your rotation it seems, and that could be difficult to get used to. Probably something you would get used to with a bit of time, though.
It also seemed like the attack takes a bit too long to be very accurate, but again, probably something you'll just have to get used to.
Overall, pretty fun little game! :)
Fun little game! Love the simple art, the colors are great. The sound, whether it's the soundtrack or sound effects, is messed up. I'm getting weird, glitchy, staticy sounds that shut off and on. Pretty off putting, but other than that, awesome game!
This is pretty cool. Audio is spot on. I agree that the guide wasn't as helpful as it looked once I started playing.
Neat idea! Funny little game, good job.
Good game! The final level was designed very well. I was hoping to play more levels, though. Looking forward to a post compo version.
Pretty fun! I see a little Osmos or Agar.io inspiration. I just wish it had some sound effects. I see that you just barely hit the deadline though and audio is typically the last item on the list.
Nice work!
Very cool! Quite an interesting concept. Seems kinda odd having the leaderboards displayed alongside the game instead of tucked away in a menu, but I guess you didn't really need that screen space for anything else.
Overall cool idea and good execution!
Cool, simple game. Nice job!
Nice work! The graphics worked well and the music was spot on. Pretty fun little game. I just wish as time went on the difficulty would increase. Maybe increasing the speed of growth, speed of the birds, spawn rate, or all 3? I think that would be a good addition.
Cute graphics indeed.
Hmm, you're probably right. I think it was a case of it getting too easy for me as development went on so I kept lowering the spacing.
There's definitely room for improvement when it comes to tweaking collision boxes, beam margins, and speeds. I haven't considered the idea of patterns.
I know that "Random" at times spits out too many of the same beams, I'm for sure going to handle it differently as I continue development.
The idea actually started off as a rhythm game, but I just didn't have the time to implement what I had in mind.
Thanks for the constructive criticism, deadpixelsociety!
Aha, the messages were meant to make you try to read them. I just hope they didn't turn out to be too much of a problem.
Thanks for fixing my OS X version. I haven't worked on a Mac in awhile and wasn't thinking about which archive format would be best. Thanks for that!
It's just a pass/fail system. I have a feeling based on some of the comments that the difficulty is defaulting higher than I meant for it to. The difficulty level can be changed in the Options menu, though.
The hit boxes for both the entity and the beams are quite a bit smaller than the sprites as well.
Nice use of both themes. The level growing is pretty cool, makes it a bit more difficult as it goes on.
The little gravity-changer-button-arrow and bouncy ball things add quite a bit! Cool stuff.
I just get a Java exception when I launch.
