Hey! Unable to play your game on itch, I just get a black screen. Let me know if you want me to test again I'll try and check back. Using Firefox

wow was amazed with the feel and view, i didn't know something like this could exist in the browser, Really incredible... It honestly felt so real and scary that I couldn't keep playing it, but I am very impressed!
@mountaingoose Unfortunately, I have not tested it in Firefox, so some incompatibility may have slipped through. You're welcome to try it again, though. :D
I am also on firefox, and itch worked fine for me.
I tried three times, but I don't like that you need to search for the thing for like 10 minutes, constantly building up crazy tension, and then once you find it, it's over. Way too intense for me xD I tried running away, didn't work. Tried throwing lights at the thing, didn't work. Also I feel the anomaly was always like 20 rooms away from the containment cell and the task felt impossible.
The game is however very well put together and the mood and tension is crazy high. Sound design is on point. I would have liked to be able to understand where I was but everything looked kinda the same, orientation felt difficult, but I suppose it also added to the horror since not knowing where you are is not a good feeling, when you are locked inside with an unknown creature.
Ok I'm gonna try one more time, now that I have calmed down a bit.
...
Haha no way! I can't do it. I noticed it is interested by the lights, but most of all it's interested by myself...
...
Tried again. Did it.. did it close my browser tab this time when I got caught?
...
I overcame my fears, tried once more and actually did it! My heart was racing omg. After having tried six or so times I started to learn the environment and I managed to lure it in the end. But it was a close call.
Spoiler, explaining how I did it in case anyone else has trouble like I did: !>The trick is to first get to the cell and open it, then find the anomaly and manage to stay away enough and use red flares to inch by inch getting it into the cell. You need patience. And turn off your flashlight.

Great work on the graphics and love how it interacts with the lighting, getting working fine on the web too!
Interesting idea, though I think it needs some work. The main challange for me was just navigating the place while guiding the anomaly. Having the flashlight on is just an instant death sentence, and the throwable lights don't give you much when they get eaten almost instantly. Especially with the screen effects near the anomaly. I'd also like some way to make finding the anomaly easier, since just walking around looking for it is kinda anoying.
Seems to not play nicely with chromium, causes red squares to flicker OUTSIDE the browser window which is particularly special, then mouse locks up and entire screen goes black. Temporarily playable on chrome itself but locks up mouse and audio and causes a black screen again.

What a wonderfully tense experience! At the start I felt like I had to be very cautious and strategic but by the end I was panicking tossing flares into the cell and making a run for the button. The whole "playing through a camera" thing and the added static when the baddie was close reminds me of slender the eight pages, although the horror in this I feel relies much less on startling the player than that game did. Some more notes:
- The motion blur and depth of field effects were a bit much, IMO, although I thought the lens flare was nice due to how it affected visibility - The mouse sensitivity was way too high for me playing in firefox. I managed to do ok but any higher and the game would have been unplayable. - The noise sound-effects you're using for ambience, to indicate when the anomaly is close, and on the game over screen were all very unpleasant to my ears. The sound is critical to the mechanics so I couldn't just mute the game, but I had to unplug my headphones to be able to play it comfortably. A simple low-pass filter over everything probably would have helped, as well as maybe adjusting the volume downwards on the game over screen, specifically.
It was very scary, but nice, I finished the game, thanks!
@notime4games I appreciate the time you took to try to complete the game and write such a review. Thank you! :D
@picttarge Could you provide the exact browser(s) version(s) you tried, along with your system specifications? I can't reproduce your issue on Chrome or Firefox.
@henk You can actually change the mouse sensitivity with the mouse wheel, but it is easy to miss that. Thank you for your time and your review! :D
The atmosphere of this game is simply amazing! Both the visuals and the sound effects make me feel extremely tense and thrilling. It even makes me wonder if I should continue playing. It's like a mental game, haha. Maybe it's due to some psychological reasons that I feel the game has become more challenging. The exploratory nature of the game process is very high, and I think it's remarkable that such a game can be designed in such a short time.
@rewzu don't worry - the sheer number of hardware combos available makes this difficult. If you're interested, both Chrome Version 147.0.7727.137 (Official Build) (64-bit) and Chromium Version 147.0.7727.116 (Official Build) snap (64-bit) on Ubuntu 24.04 (w/Nvidia drivers) exhibit this issue.
Very cool vibe, very nice mood. Overall good idea but the mouse sensitivity is a bit too high.
@venomousmouse Thanks for the feedback! You can change the mouse sensitivity with the mouse wheel. :D
Thanks for pointing out! I ran through controls with my eyes and didn't register the scroll wheel control. Silly me. xD
Great work with the lighting and camera, very beautiful and atmospheric. But I still couldn't find a single anomaly.
Absolutely stunning post processing effects! Innovative idea to have scroll control mouse sensitivity, never seen that before. Could have used some ambient occlusion, but otherwise amazing graphics despite the relatively simplistic environment assets. Great job!
Yea, I did it! The searching part felt a bit long but once I found IT the game got real intense and I really enjoyed that. Luckily, I read from the comments that IT likes red flares that helped a lot. Maybe giving some in-game lore hints to that could help? Anyways, awesome postprocessing and atmosphere. Map for the anomaly location could be a good addition as well. Overall, good stuff :)
oh really cool. love the lens effects! couldn't figure out what exactly sensitive to light meant in this context but i almost managed to contain it
It looks cool, but I still haven't figured out how to trap the anomaly. I'm walking in the dark. I hear the noise building up. I start throwing flashlights and chemlights around, but the anomaly kills me anyway.
Very atmospheric! One thing i noticed is that the default background static notice, while adding to the atmosphere, had a fairly noticeable loop (with my headphones at least) and was relatively short; which did get a bit jarring after a while (a longer sample and/or a less noticeable loop would probably fix this). Overall a really cool entry!
Nice game atmosphere! The mouse control were a bit too sensitive for me, but I managed to play anyway. Took me some time to figure it out, but at the end it was a pleasant experience. Well done!
Really cool concept, really impressive you got it running in browser too, really like the feel and style of the game. I cacked it when I found the anomoly. I'm a bit of a wetty so i probably wont make another attempt there  Brilliant entry. Great work.
