Nice puzzle game! Interesting level design.

koro-games 2024-04-16 08:21

wow 3D. That's something new from you :) I take it there's a fresh crew?

The game has Cloud Gardens vibes and that's great. Cool and stylish as always.

fearawl 2024-04-16 13:23

It's beautiful! In the first playthrough, I generously threw grenades, and when they ran out, I searched for a long time to restart the game. Intuitively pressing "R" helped.

The gameplay is meditative and pleasant, visual and sounds create an atmosphere of peace and comfort. A feeling of deep immersion in the game is created, similar emotions were caused by The Witness and Journey. The puzzle is played well, the mechanics work (and not even linearly). I wanted to find a secret or an Easter egg - I didn't find it))

UE is cool. The visual of the game for jam is similar in level to a full-fledged game. Even the clouds are floating) Gorgeous. Great result, good luck in voting!)

Love almost everything about this game. Small glitches here and there but overall great project. Will like to see it as small indie game in steam.

risminator 2024-04-16 18:33

Such a soothing and beautiful game! Music and sound effects also help to get into this meditative state of play. So peaceful and charming. Love it!

palvel 2024-04-16 19:07

Nice puzzle.

krakadushka 2024-04-16 19:08

Peaceful and meditative! Unfortunately, there is some strange situations, when player teleports in the tree or wall, for example, but it isn't important. I love it! P.S. Is there only 2 levels? When I revived tree on the second level there wasn't any finish screen or some info about it.

tricky-fat-cat 2024-04-16 19:12

The game has vibes of Flower, however the rules seems a bit confusing because of some issues in UX, at the beginning I though that I can jump only between linked points, but it seems that rules are different or the visuals are off in some levels. The throw mechanics is a bit wonky and hard to use as the grenade throws not form the middle of the screen, but from the top. I want to note the music and the visuals, they create a soothing atmosphere. Great job.

denismarasan 2024-04-17 06:56

Great theme and nice feel! Rock on!

katamary 2024-04-17 09:37

> @wmute Thank you! I'll add more levels in the post-jam version.

katamary 2024-04-17 09:40

> @koro-games This is my first time using a 3D engine at a game-jam. And it was hard)) And yes, my team has changed.

katamary 2024-04-17 09:41

> @asfdfdfd Thank you! I'm already thinking about it.

katamary 2024-04-17 09:42

> @risminator, @palvel, @denismarasan Thank you! Glad to hear that you liked it!

katamary 2024-04-17 09:44

> @tricky-fat-cat Glad to hear you! And yes, the trajectory of the grenade throw was poorly done. I will redo it. Thank you!

katamary 2024-04-17 09:46

> @fearawl Thanks for the detailed feedback. I will take the comments into account and correct the game in the post-jam version.

rita-pressanykey 2024-04-17 19:03

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, art & music. Immediately wanted to find out more about the world: why is the desert where is used to be a city, whose are these skeletons, who is the MC? Puzzles were nice and lvl is very well-builded. I wish I had an option to hide a grenade when picked it by mistake. And thank you for the settings menu! Very impressive for 3 days.

iroroi 2024-04-17 21:31

Good game, too bad it's short.... I want more levels. 5/5

heretic 2024-04-18 13:12

Everything is done at the highest level, just fine, maybe it makes sense to make it a full game with more levels.

katamary 2024-04-18 16:16

@heretic Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! We'll be adding two new levels to the post-jam version soon.

gabriel-bissonnette 2024-04-18 16:32

Loved the style! The music and graphics really put everything together. Like others said it would be a great indie steam game. Gameplay was fun, nice job!

artemy-zen 2024-04-18 21:08

Stylish game! It lacked a bit of polish, but overall very cool. it was fun to play!

zubspace 2024-04-18 21:10

Beautiful artstyle, soothing music, relaxing gameplay. I like it!

artonix 2024-04-18 21:41

Good idea, but the gameplay requires to be really meticulous when you grow shrooms.

skyler-newsome 2024-04-19 13:42

This is a beautiful game! The music and graphics are top notch. Well done!

wolfier 2024-04-20 03:08

I think the most critical thing i would change would be having it so that a successful throw centers on the target rather then where the ball landed. I had some throws where i was almost stuck because there were pillars slightly blocking the shot.

Honestly I like everything about this game, and hats of to Georgy for this awesome music he made. I need someone to teach me the art of music making, its my one weakness as a jack of all trades XD.

dyingwolfwood 2024-04-20 22:57

Very fun game! I ran out of grenades quickly lol! Great mood and definitely fun. I liked the rules of the game, and the puzzle aspect definitely made it fun to play!

caveman54 2024-04-20 23:06

I got stuck but the mechanic is really cool and the environments look amazing. I could see this being a really relaxing game.

blackpulse 2024-04-20 23:26

Relaxing game, loved the ambiance, environnement, sound design and animations <3.

guilherme-tartari 2024-04-21 01:24

I loved your game and I want to play the full version of it for sure

jkyd 2024-04-21 19:51

I really enjoyed this! It has similar vibes to Flower/Journey, but with 'shrooms :) The tutorial level is done really well, and the sounds effects/audio are a great fit for the gameplay. There were a couple instances where I felt I should have been able to pick up the yellow spheres, but didn't. Maybe I missed an alternative path to collect them, however I couldn't figure it out. Love the graphics as well, great job overall!

katamary 2024-04-21 20:21

@jkyd Thank you! I think, I'll add more clear instructions to understand the limit of the summon spore grenades. The post-jam version will be ready soon!

ben-yazi 2024-04-23 19:04

Interesting puzzle! Had to work hard to reach the end!

Sometimes it wasn't clear why the grass wasn't growing, even though the grenade hit the target, but as I understood it was because of the distance to the nearest activated point.

And I had to waste a couple of grenades, because it wasn't possible to cancel the shot.

Enjoyed the game, nice sound and graphics!

A very pleasant, relaxing game - just the thing to get stuck in after work! Wonderful environment, cool, atmospheric sound, simple but at the same time addictive gameplay)

nikiprotiv 2024-04-25 12:49

A very meditative game, a mixture between The Talos Principle and Ethan Carter, but with its own magical atmosphere. The puzzles are not easy, I had to reset my progress to complete several levels. Thank you!

quasilyte 2024-04-26 09:43

We almost managed to beat this game with my friend, but it we were 1-2 spores short in the end of the second stage.

The level design (from a puzzle perspective) and graphics are probably the strongest parts of this entry. Although the first level felt better for me as second level lost the feeling of novelty at that point (no new mechanics or challenges). Or maybe we got more used to the gameplay at that point.

The one thing that made the game hard to play is its way of connecting the bridges. Sometimes the mushroom will spawn, but no grass will show up. Or the branches will grow, but you still wouldn't get the ability to navigate. These multiple states make it not so obvious for the player whether they missed and should fire there again or if it's a mistake and they should try finding another way. Sometimes we managed to create a bridge by repeatedly firing 2-4 shots at the same place just to make the game register it. It could be the lack of understanding of the mechanics, but from a player's perspective we don't see enough consistency I guess (you don't fail all the time, neither you succeed all the time, "it depends" and you may want to repeat the action just in case).

Other than that, it's pretty impressive for a jam game. I was somewhat surprised to see an UE game instead of Game Maker game from Serge. :D

katamary 2024-04-26 12:08

@quasilyte Thank you for the detailed feedback! Special thanks for the video! It's always interesting how my game appears from the player's perspective. It's very important to me to put in the effort to make this game better. I'll improve our game in the next version especially the aspects that clarify the mechanics of mushroom sensing.

jojopalambas 2024-04-26 20:00

Nice game! Very cool visual and audio atmosphere!
