Love a fun card game. I can't believe you there are 4 camera angles, what a cool concept! I wish I could attack twice in the same turn. The music was surprisingly good, I enjoyed the loop!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD55 → Cutie Oh!

I like the style of your visuals. Good game
I liked the camera angle system. However, it was too easy to cheese the game in my opinion. With two Dogenstein, I could wipe out every single ennemy unit. I know this kind of card game is hard to balance though.
Nice Yu-Gi-Oh/Little Kuriboh references in the game description. Sorta was hoping to see that in the game itself but niche/trademarked references are both good things to avoid.
Understood the instructions, but the "confirm move" button was too small to see. Didn't have any contrast and was at bottom of the screen. A popup in the middle of the screen would have been clearer.
It needs a ledger or log to record events at minimum. When it was the enemy's turn it wasn't clear what happened -- suddenly one of my guys was gone. I guess he attacked it and I could infer that, but that doesn't scale as the game gets more complicated. Even just a simple "Bar attacked Foo" message briefly appearing would have worked.
The multi cameras are a cute gimic. If it's just a way to play with the multi perspective tech then great usage! I will say I only really used my "first person" view. If there were more animations switching to the enemy's point of view may have been interesting?
I'm honestly a fan of the art style of the characters. Reminds me a little of some of the art in "Gemusetto Machu Picchu"
Game balance is hard! But I found it was a race to be the first to summon the Unicorn/Rhino. After that it was a straight forward win. That aside, I enjoyed the gameplay and it was a satisfying loop. Very well done on a solid attempt at taking on a complex game type for Ludum Dare!
Making a card game for a game jam is a dire task for sure ^^ As others said it was sometimes too easy to win. And the change camera and confirm move buttons were a bit out of sight at first. However it was a cute fun game, congrats for accomplishing a so complex game in so little time! :)
@binroot Glad you liked the camera angles and music! More actions per turn could be nice if balanced well, I agree.
@lelek-hunor-kadosa Thanks! I'm not very practiced at drawing but I'm happy how they turned out too.
@wakobu Yeah I suppose that is a pretty good strategy! I would definitely want to do more work improving the balance and giving more complexity to the card mechanics so hopefully it wouldn't be too easy.
@timidger Happy for the detailed comment! Sorry about the confirm button and lack of opponent message. My original idea was to have the text next to the table be a log with a confirm button in the 3D world somewhere below visually but I didn't get around to adding that complexity. I like your idea of changing the view for animations. My goal was to let you see all the cards easily in case they were too hard to read and so my high-res art for both players' cards can be seen more up-close. Never heard of Gemusetto Machu Picchu but glad you liked it!
@balimaarthebassfish That is another good strategy, as long as you can win that race! Glad you enjoyed my game.
@tudvari It was tricky and I had to scope back my ideas for the cards a lot, but happy you liked it.
@kirsybuu I would love to see the source code for the game if youre willing to share. id love to see how you made it.
Decent card game, execution worked I think. Could potentially find better ways of showing information to the players before they click on stuff, but otherwise I think the information was delivered well. Once I'd gotten going I wasn't confused as to what I was doing. Some of the features seemed unnecessary, but that isn't necessarily a problem
A nice game. I haven't managed to lose yet though :) (still going to try a few times!) There are a few details that could be improved, but the game looks cute, sounds good and plays well, so who cares? :)
Took me a while to figure out how to sacrifice a card, but then I was able to win. Would have liked a win screen or just a little particle effect or fanfare sfx. Really nice card game, well done
Well done making a card game! You might want to practice making art in between competitions. All in all, it's an ambitious project that you finished in the time allotted, and that's plenty to hang your hat on.
Simple but fun card game mechanics. This was easy to understand, just a little short. The art is simple and creates a very light hearted environment.
As a fellow card game enjoyer I know how painfully difficult making a game like this is. Just surviving the process is a feat in itself! I loved the cute arts and names, reminded me of making board games as a kid. I had a hard time playing until I figured out that several cards could be used for attacks. Then it became a game of patience. No need for sacrifices though! :)
I figured it out and won!! MUahhahahahahahahahahaha
hehehe it took me a bit to figure it out but once I did I won! I liked the different camera angles, that was a nice touch! I was hoping the see the forest colored once I won! Great job this was a nice card game! Have a great jam!
