Cargo going under the ship made it little difficult to see what kind of shape it was (or there was not enough contrast between cargo bay and cargo indicator). And some kind of indicator how much cargo was needed and how long will the ship wait.

flancon 2023-10-02 18:40

It's cool ! Maybe adding a time indicator for each ship would be great. But I like the game, and the graphics are nice !

donitz 2023-10-02 18:53

Cool idea! A few bugs but otherwise nice. The highlight doesn't refresh until you move, and as the other commenter pointed out the contrast of the highlight was quite low.

Cool game!

I feel like the instructions could be a little clearer on what counts as "too empty", but otherwise nice job! 😄

Its fun, wow are those captains in a hurry lol or I'm just a slow freight loader :D, The graphics fit nicely, the mechanics fir the theme well. Thanks for making it :)

Oooh I love trying to fit different geometric shapes. Reminds me of board games like Feast of Odin and New York Zoo. The realtime element was great. I wasn't sure how to know whether a ship had enough cargo on it or not. Sometimes the game would end, and sometime the game would continue. I just loaded each ship as much as I could until I couldnt' anymore and that seemed to work for a few ships but a visualized goal would have helped me figure it out.

I like the graphics, it looks like hand drawn colored sketches. It was a relaxing experience, although it was hard to anticipate when the boat will start moving away, and then rush to fill it up. It is completely on the theme of the limited space, but if there were some sounds of sea/docks, it would be even better experience.

I see we've made similar games  I like how the ships come in with different sizes and the movement makes it a little more challenging.

It'd be nice to see what the score threshold is for a ship before it sails off. I also had a bug where the pieces would be offset from the "grid" and take up more collider space than they should. Also the highlight not updating like someone mentioned above.

Cool idea, a nice Tetris variation :) The only couple of things I missed, are a clearer visual feedback of where the cargo is being placed, the color highlight is not very visible. Also, it's hard to say when the ship will leave, or how much cargo it has to have. Too bad there is no sound either. Other than that, nice little entry.

nick-rafalski 2023-10-05 01:13

I agree with most of the others saying it's a little too hard to see where the cargo can go, and the ships are just too quick to leave, but I really like the concept of the game, and especially the art overall. Nice job!

somewan 2023-10-05 05:23

The game concept is quite interesting, but the boat leaves too quickly, leading to quick failure. Maybe you can try drawing some grids and see if that improves the gameplay.

nilan 2023-10-05 08:59

This game is so much fun! I think it has the potential to evolve into a fully-fledged game, it's very suit to play on mobile. Great job!

ttkayttis 2023-10-05 17:45

Good simple fit shapes inside game. I would like to have more pieces and maybe some storage place to fit couple so you dont get so screwed by RNG. Nice thematic art.

snesgaard 2023-10-06 16:35

Really like the concept and execution. Think some visual indication of what counts as "full" would be nice. But a great entry otherwise.

ricardobusta 2023-10-07 08:31

Liked the idea. However it's not clear what "enough cargo" is. I am guessing it should be completely full then

The game is a bit unforgiving as you don't have much time to plan ahead and there's only one piece available at given time. Maybe having some hold mechanic like tetris, or having more than one piece that you could choose from to give you a little bit more of strategy could be good approaches to improve it

Nice game!

pepnou 2023-10-07 10:01

Nice game, the art is nice & the concept is fun. Zero sound is always sad for a game. The green indicator of the cargo placement on the ship make it less visible to see what you're doing. The cargo doesn't seems to snap but sometimes you cant place cargo because something seems to be blocking it event if there's nothing. What is "enough" cargo to put on the ships ?

Nice game overall!

brogolem35 2023-10-07 11:42

The idea is cool, but falls short on implementation. The placement system is sloppy, some items seem to take more space than they should (maybe this is a bug), ships leave a little too fast. Also, I can't seem to access the source. Could you fix that?

bloham 2023-10-07 18:24

@brogolem35 Hi, indeed the repo was set to private, thank you for notifying me, I changed it to public.

This felt like my worst compo project so far. I run into so many problems and I am astonished how so many people like the game... I managed to closet the really simple core game loop 5 hours before the deadline and was about to give up so many times.

But here a few decissions of why. - The marker of the item placement is so weak as I tried to put the Item away while placing it, so that you can see better where to place it. - The Items are bigger than the tiles to make the ship seem more full - the ship is full when you filled it to 70% or 75% (dont remember exacly) - Random times for the docking of the ship as well as indicators for them where on top of the list, but no time because of other issues. - Cargo should snap into place, but it snaps into place the moment you click, when the ship is moving the coordinates will be screwed and it snaps a little next to it. - No sound because of time, and because its my weak spot. - No more shapes as I run out of time - The boat was a placeholder I skeched the first day :) I just never came to repalce it. - Show the score on the game over screen was just a result of no playtesting due to time problems.

Well thank everyone though that you are thinking so well about my game! There were many really good games this time and I am proud to be a part of it again!

skel3ton 2023-10-08 10:56

interesting idea and the game looks good too...

I think the torch is unfair that it ends as soon as I can't load it. especially when I get like 5 small boxes in a row. I understand if I got a minimum point or a penalty, but "game over" is a big penalty that only reduces the playing time.

good entry

knightgames 2023-10-12 16:35

Nice game! simple and challenging, well done!

lalordmikey 2023-10-20 15:28

Was a good game, simple yet challenging. I do wish there were more boat types and block types but other than that it was a solid game.
